GW2
LS2 finished on my Necro Kitty. My desire to murder Faolain is still very high thought. Too bad I don't get to do it. Sorta. I will get to smash something that got her face and voice eventually, because Heart of Thorns awaits my big cat now. Moew!

I fused Daisoujou in P5R, I used this persona for a bit in Persona 3, and I was initially excited until I saw how kinda useless its default trait is. Daisoujou has the unique instant kill ability, Samsara, but most of my attacks missed with it. Around the same time Network fusion became available, where randomly you can use other players personas for fusions. I had a couple interesting options, a level 99 Kaguya with numerous repel skills, and Sandalphon whose trait "Omen" greatly increases the success rate of insta kills. It was a tough choice but I thought I'd have more fun with Omen, the resulting persona was Kushinada, and after consulting a fusion guide I managed to fuse a Daisoujou with Omen. Other than bosses that are immune, everyone else died instantly! Haha. I needed a boss killer, so I set about fusing Seth, which also completes the Strength Confidant. The last persona I needed for fusion was Horus, I was fusing it during a fusion alarm (random stuff happens) hoping I could get Repel or Null Bless. I tried for quite a while, but gave up figuring I'd try again when fusing Seth. I did get what I wanted, only it replaced Seth main ability One-shot kill. LOL. Also I didn't like Seth's trait either, a few fusions later I finally had a Seth that I liked.

Having finished the Uncharted Collection on PC a couple of days ago, I was in the mood for something different, so I've been playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong (they really need to do something about those titles). I'd been holding off because reviews weren't exactly glowing, and I'm not huge on visual novel/Telltale type games (only previous one was Wolf Among Us). So far, though - it has been pretty enjoyable. The common threads of negative Steam reviews are present and understandable (poor quality character models and occasional lack of clarity in what you are supposed to do), but I've been able to get past them. Love Emem and Galeb, and Leysha is growing on me, but I find her eyes off-putting There are some impressive difficulty spikes, though. In one scene, you have to open a secret passage way...with no way of knowing where the passage is or how it opens. You can find a note from one character to another that says 'in an emergency, call *insert name here*', which is a company. There is a phone. But you have to realise the person who wrote the note is being literal and have carefully read a specific document earlier in the level in order to know the phone number of said company. Once I discovered that, I realised what level the developers were looking for from me. Everything progressed pretty smoothly afterwards - except for a damn puzzle required to raise a lift. Went to a guide for that. First level was pretty easy, but gave up on the second after 20 minutes and didn't even bother trying on the third. All in all - I'm enjoying it.

As for the three protagonists love them all. Galeb is a badass Ventrue not like that sissy LaCroix. Emem I found annoying at first but she grew on me. Leysha I liked a lot she's a Malkavian but not in a constant state of psychosis like the Malkavian protagonist in Bloodlines. As for not liking Telltale games I highly recommend playing 'The Walking Dead: Season One.' This game single handedly put Telltale on the map. Another I highly recommend is 'Batman: A Telltale Series.'

The scene with Moore and Galeb leaving Moore's "apartment" was fucking cool.

So I think my last post re MEA I had finished Voeld, after that returned the Moshae to Aya di various sundry tasks there including looking at the vault, scanning some fruit, giving Avelja some artifacts etc. etc. Romances are being progressed with Suvi, Cora and Peebee. Game pushes you to go to Kadara but I had done virtually nothing on Eos so headed back there. Chatted to lots of folks, picked up lots of quests and completed them all. Not one Random quests spawned to start with so I just stopped stopping at any of the random Kett sites so my journal won't have them in it. Also avoided Danny Messier or whatever his name is, and didn't pick up the dad and the kid quest. Headed to Kadara, should have gone back to The Nexus poor old Nilken will have to await his outcome a bit longer. Spoke to Reyes and that was it. As usual the game crashed landing there with Mods installed, uninstalled the Mods and the game crashed again, shut down absolutely everything and End Tasked EA Background Services and managed to land. So will pick up Kadara again and with a bit of luck get most of it done today, will avoid the random quests they add zero value, may even just do the Monoliths, Vault and Architect and leave. I am not good at doing that but you never know. I will have to rescue Remi and get Dr. Nakomoto's formula and oh damn I will have to do that other rubbish for Reyes and Sloane to get the outpost. Aim is to go with Sloane but her dialogue and actions usually turn my decision near the end. The game really is gorgeous with my new card and tweaking the upscaling on the card and the in game resolutionscaler I have it at just over 3K resolution with the PC mostly being happy temperature and fan speed wise. Pic's The difference in in-game quality - the glyphs in this display would have been vague/not sharp or even clear with my old card/PC Destroying Destroyers who doesn't like that, I feel like I am cheating though playing on Normal. Be worried Invictor, "Little Duck" is coming for you. The Invictor lasted one magazine on Normal. Eos scenery and with Drack and Cora, got some talk from Drack I hadn't heard as I have never taken him for a whole big chunk of Eos.

Only females but there is a Poly Mod that lets Scott romance her as well, some dialogue only shows up as subtitles though. This Sara is also romancing Cora who is a male only romance without the Mod as is Avelja.

Did some random stuff trying to clean up the journal but failing miserably.
Found Barnabas' daughter; left her to run the farm.
Did the quest line for "Is she Athena or does she just want me to think she's Athena" lady. Picked the latter response. There may be crazy ruins and space magic around but there aren't any gods, despite what Barnabas might think.
Upgraded the spear to level 5 so now I can start adding rank 3 to all the stuff I use all the time. Only 22 shards to go.

Alaris: DemoSame author as Intertwine, which was released among the Otome Jam 2023 project (and I plan to read next.) - Unseen Protagonist, can pick name and pronouns.
- 6 LIs, 4 male, 2 non binary (they/them). One of the non binary LI is kinda femme.
There is this concept of an energy aura you can toggle on and off. Don't know if it wouldn't be better if seeing it was more tied to the narrative, but cool that you can control your MC magic sensing eyes. Story: There is some crisis of the fae that really draws me in, and that brings you to Kuana's route. When an LI needs me to save their world, it's too hard to turn those puppy eyes down. I was smitten and eye gazing with Fenir by the end of it. Cons: This demo is a bit unpolished, as some choices I made weren't referred to correctly. But it didn't ruin the demo. Some of the sprite art, especially Kayn and Aisa with their one eye- I hope it's updated for the final release. The music should be longer before it loops or have a smoother looping transition. But may all be fixed in the final product. I'm going to buy it when it's released.

As for not liking Telltale games I highly recommend playing 'The Walking Dead: Season One.' This game single handedly put Telltale on the map I liked season 2 a lot as well. I'd recommend anyone the first two seasons. I played the third season but... after they did Kenny dirty like that just so they wouldn't have to deal with my choice to keep him, I played it through just because it was there and set down the series. But Season 2 is just as good as Season 1, imo

Poor Barnabas did you at least get him a girlfriend on Delos/Mykonnos? Of course it's Athena!!!! Of course there are gods Kass is a Demi-God with her superior Isu DNA why wouldn't the gods want to come and mess with their creations? Who created the spear and that's why she can use it? Rank 3 is great for most of the abilities, Rush Assassination, Ring of Chaos in particular. Now you really will be god like!!!!!

I liked season 2 a lot as well. I'd recommend anyone the first two seasons. I played the third season but... I tried playing the second season but... I couldn't get into the mindset of a scared eight year old girl for some reason. I grew attached to both Lee and Clementine. Also I must remind anyone reading our discussion that the games are based on the comic book series and not the tv series.

Intertwine: released among the Otome Jam 2023 project I'm such a fan of the soulmate trope so I may be totally biased but- I started bawling when he said he'd pick her every time. "Always." I loved that instead of a sprite there was a hand, I loved the thread, I love his meta memory, I loved that the background music had whispers that made you kind listen hard for it-- as hard as you try to remember a memory. Enjoyed the music, it contributed to the story and so often the music is a pleasant nothing burger. Good voice actor for the handsome guy, and I liked how the CGs were done.

Pic's The difference in in-game quality - the glyphs in this display would have been vague/not sharp or even clear with my old card/PC That's the difference between a regular 1080p Medium-High image and a 1080p Ultra, AI black magicked, spiced up and upscaled through the wazoo image 😎❤️ Wait till you get a 1440p or 4k monitor and see the true pixels. Even more clarity! I remember firing ME3 on my new monitor and being amazed by the detail of Wrex's wrinkles and scars. Or how crisp even Dragon Age 2 looked. Gotta say, I love how the GPU tech advances. Nvidia might be a greedy corp, but they deliver on the innovation front. DLDSR, DLSS and Frame Generation are game changers.

With the DSR aren't I running it at 2880x1620 now? The detail with all the settings on Ultra (that have that) are amazing for me anyway especially when I bump up the in game resolution scaling even just to 3000+x1800+ Would the 4070Ti be of any use with a 4K monitor? Best I could probably afford would be the next step up from 1080p. I'd love to get a new monitor but after just getting a whole new PC and the price of monitors here I might end up divorced.

Best I could probably afford would be the next step up from 1080p. I'd love to get a new monitor but after just getting a whole new PC and the price of monitors here I might end up divorced. With DLDSR at 2.25x and a 1080p monitor you get the option of running your desktop resolution and/or games at 2880x1620p, yes. That's before you apply any extra scaling option (if it exists) like you can with MEA's own upscaler. The PC works at the loads of the higher resolution (you hear the fans and feel the heat, amirite), however you still see a 1080p image because that's the maximum your monitor can show you. But that 1080p image underwent the best makeup and spa treatments available and comes back with some extra detail and clarity. The AI upscaling of DLDSR picks the original image, upscales it to the higher resolution and compares them both. Then downscales it back to 1080p while trying to keep the detail and lines of the upscaled 1620p image in the best possible way it can be shown at 1080p - that's the end result you see.
Just to clarify for anyone wondering - DLDSR and DSR are two different things in the Nvidia Control Panel. DLDSR is the latest AI upscaling hotness, while DSR (also called Legacy DSR or similar) is the older upscaling technique, but is still available. They can't be used at the same time and produce different results. DLDSR is better for modern games, while DSR might give a better image on really old games - we talking 20+ years old.
The 4070Ti is perfect for 1440p and can do both Ultra settings and high frame rate at that resolution. It can do 4k fairly well too, probably at High settings and lower FPS (still above 60ish), but would be better if the game has DLSS support. Ideally, you get a 1440p monitor (currently I'd still recommend a 27 inch IPS panel and 144 or 165Hz) and again use DLDSR (+DLSS Quality and/or Frame Generation where available) when you want a better image.

ACVEivor: I have faced men, kings, and gods. But those things. *quick pan to the demonic looking rats* those things scare me. I got all excited for a second leading on from last time and the first thing I did was going after Charles after assassinating Englewine and the first thing the guard asks me for is the 'watch word' ...but apparenlty it was a different watch word after all because I had to charisma my way in. And then Charles is something else...but I guess more on that later. But first I am not entirely sure I did this or at least got all the associated skill books from the places...but I did all the Hidden Ones keys to get to their Paris Beureu first. ANd Ll I got for it was a pretty lousy sword. Still some of the abilities might have some utility, but I think the whole explosive attachment thing is more trolley then something I can actually use, and the arrow where everyone suffers from spontaneous vomitting is also something I could use but given how limited the amount of abilities are just not sure what I want to get rid of...thinking about the wolf. Day 2 of assassinations and investigations and I had a theory, I am quite sure, but I didn't really confirm it until this Playthrough. Think they are going for an Hitman vibe with this. Probably being a DLC they couldn't get into it but with the 'Little Mother' I did pull it off, investigating for clues on how to find her, how to get to her, looking for clues for a distraction...then I stabbed her through the eye with her own sacrificial blade. Do wonder how many variance there is in this but I could see promise to this moving forward (also not too experienced with the previous games so not sure how much this might've layed into previous games). But yeah even after all this Charles betrays us. While I remembered this sort of and while it makes sense given the whole thing is called the "Siege of Paris' so any peace deals fall through, I am surprised on just how quickly they fell apart because Charles didn't even pay lip service to meeting with us and just sicked his guards on us. Which has to be one of the most annoying fights in the entire game, even the Daughters of Leirion didn't piss me off this much (though to be fair...). Just whatever it is about mounted warriors in this game. I wasted an entire Focus of Nornir and didn't hit him once...somehow. What makes this whole sequence worse is we still have this little dance on trying to make peace with the Franks and avert bloodshed. Which I would support but on the flip side. First to Count Odo who didn't like us being there in the first place because we stole his land...then again Toka suggested we look to the King. And yeah Eivor went all Viking for a second about 'he tried to kill me', but then Eivor does have a point since the King not only tried to break him but completley and obviously broke his promise in the first place. You can literally trust nothing he says. Like all that time to get to the King and Eivor gets down to his hiding space and the King just basically promises to do the same thing he did in the first deal. Plus we also find out he is insane so that is helpful. At least Eivor has the good sense to not actually try and give him Bernard...

You and your science techno babble, my screen and pic's look beautiful. Enough said. So I should look for a 1440p monitor, my current one though has everything else, going to be a hard sell to the wife!!!!! I like my ASUS do you have a recommended brand? Also recommend a game for me to try that has DLSS that I might have? Basically, look at my sig or otherwise it is Guardians of The Galaxy un-played or RDR2 un-played. or open to suggestions.

Ha, techno babble! And here I thought I am explaining it real simple with the "makeup and spa" comparison. To put it even simpler - your GPU photoshops the real image before showing it to you. You look at a splice that is essentially not the first, not the second, but the third image your card creates. And yes, that's why it's beautiful.
If you are happy with your current monitor and image quality, you shouldn't bother yet with a new one. It's the natural next step in your upgrade path, but it's not urgent by any means. Enjoy what you have and if an opportunity arises in the next few years, check up for a monitor, since your PC will be still all around up to date and above average tier. I like the Asus models, but there are comparable LG and Acer models.
Many new games have DLSS and Ray Tracing that you can explore. Guardians of the Galaxy for sure is one of the better options. It looks really good. Enabling Ray Tracing on top of the DLDSR 1620p resolution will make the GPU go hard to work. However setting DLSS at Quality will remove quite a bit of that GPU load and you get great visuals (from DLDSR+RT) and nicely reduced GPU noise and heat (from DLSS).
I think Crysis Remastered has DLSS too, but haven't tried to see how good the implementation is.
Cyberpunk 2077 (if you have it) is the ultimate test for all the new Nvidia tech. It has DLSS, Frame Generation, Ray Tracing and Path Tracing. The Path Tracing brings every card to it's knees, but is quite the amazing visual bonanza in the night city - a very noir blend of realistic lighting and shadows. Good thing there is DLSS and Frame Generation (which we can just dub "black magic" at this point), or even my 4090 would barely run Path Tracing even at 1440p.
RDR2 had a DLSS update as well, but haven't tried it on my new card. I noticed someone even did a bit of a comparison (image difference not as noticeable due to video compression) of DLDSR and a native 1080p image
The latest version of Witcher 3 also has all the bells and whistles for your GPU - DLSS and Frame Generation included.
Don't recall if you had Hogwarts Legacy, but it also comes with DLSS and Frame Generation.

Cheers. I do have Hogwarts, my next game will be that or Guardians of the Galaxy or Hogwarts or I could pick up a recently completed TW3 PT I have finished/not finished. Trying to rush through MEA ATM but hopefully done by the end of the week.
