Fallout New Vegas.
The worse part about all these crashes is the game has basically slowed to a crawl? Which is ironic.
Essentially got Joanna and everyone else out of Gamarrah after a lot of back and forth between Joanna and Carlitos. We gathered very awkwardly in the middle of the Casino. Retreated to Freeside. Got tracked by all of TWO Gammarah thugs. Had one of those conversations with the wifey where she was like 'you could talk your way out of this' nah I wanna kill them all. And I did. But it was really funny since they said they were onto us from the start, kind of makes sense actually that they would want to know who was on the outside...but then why when I go back to Gammorah do I not have to fight through the entire Casino?
On the interesting news Joanna tells me that Cochino was doing something involving Mr. House. Off to looking into that then. New content, totally. When I met him he mentioned 'licking Lot's wife' and something about tasting Salt...Biblical reference. Classy.

Will probably return to my active playthroughs once my hype over FC24 dies down. Probably continuing my NFS games and active playthroughs of DAI and MEA as well as my Hogwarts run and maybe do my NG+ light Hunter on Midnight Suns. I am considering doing an HZD run after I finish either DAI or MEA. The big question is what do I pla yafter I'm done with the NFS games Heat and Unbound? Atm I'm kind of torn between having my first go at Starfield and playing the Baldur's Gate games as I'm thinking of playing all 3. I am currently leaning towards Starfield first due to how long Baldur's Gate will likely take me but won't decide until after I'm don ewith my NFS playthrough's

Fallout New Vegas
Continuing on with Cochino and then trying to decipher the Omertas plan. Basically I was thinking it was Legion, and indeed it is Legion, but I only knew that because I was forced to look things up because things were happening. I think this might also be the tale of too much saving knocking me out of stuff.
First off bit of a role playing fau paux. One of those things which is ironic because this game is not a voiced protagonist so has all the text there...and nevertheless I still missed the implication of the dialogue. So it is posisble. Also oops. Ended up getting a gun smuggler killed because I had him do it, I basically thought it was something where he would help me...but no.
Second issue was spent a long arse time trying to figure out how to get info on what the Camden or what's his face was doing. Had to break into his safe after stealing his key and that was...fun. Nevertheless I did get the info.
And that is where things went wrong, fully. Went to Cochina figured I would give him the incriminating evidence...but no dialogue prompt came up. Instead it was the next bit of the quest basically on 'how to deal with the bosses'. I thought this was odd so I told him...later...hoping to get the dialogue to expose Camden. And well now he says 'no time to chat, the bosses are waiting for us.' No other dialogue and the quest updated to where Camden isn't an issue anymore, but then Cochino also did not move. Tried to go back the other way to blackmail Camden on his own to leave...and while that did word...it also didn't unfreeze Cochino.

Fallout New Vegas
A rather unique solution to deal with the bug after I looked it up. Bit of an anti climax and worried that how I did this and the constant bugs or other issues...I guess?...had us ruin some of the subtext. But in the end this whole thing was also...well as I said rather unique. Basically went around and did the quest without a quest marker, which is a rather unique...ugh that word!...way of doing things. Bit of a stumble around the hotel till I found them just in a random room. Hillariously they were armed, guns in hand, as if they were expecting us...but they had no reaction as I walked up to them...and put three magnum rounds into each of them pretty much. Bit worried this would've caused issues with the rest of the Omertas, but it did not.
DLC time!
Dead Money is first up this time because its one of the ones I did not do last time, and saving Ulyseus for end.
This game loves taking your inventory on DLC, or series in general...some of the times at least. But basically...well something Fallout should try doing more often because it'd be perfect, but alas it never seems to go in that direction. Fallout suddenly becomes a survival horror game ala Resident Evil. Limited Supplies. Limited health...and being told by my wife I have to decapitate them in order to kill them. Also limited ammo. And then plenty of traps. And a poison death clould. And then you have a slave collar. Objective...a heist. So if Citadel and Resi Evil had a love child I suppose. Didn't get too far though.

I was bored so I fired up the racing sim Gran Turismo 7 and tried something new - trying to do a sub- 33 second lap at the Daytona Nascar oval. Tried a couple cars and ended up with an engine swapped tuned to hell and back Mitsubishi GTO with 1186 horsepower. It took me 4 hours to get the gearing just right and to set up the suspension correctly. In the banking the suspension gets absolutely squished at those speeds and that always resulted in super high tire temperature and cars getting out of control. With its HUGE turbo the car has so much turbo lag it takes an entire lap to spool up the turbo for a max speed attempt. I even removed its little stock rear wing to reduce wind resistance, that gave me 4 more km/h on the straights. I installed a rear diffuser for a miniscule amount of drag-free downforce to prevent sudden lift in the exits of the turns. But in the end I did a 32:972 with a max speed of 448 km/h or 280 mp/h. In the turns the car was always at the very edge of controllability. Nerve wracking! Made a video:

Despite my better judgement (what with 2.0 update coming out in a week) I ended up spending time in the Night City over the weekend, because a bunch of character and clothing mods pulled me in. What can I say, these are half dress-up games for me
My character's set up is what I ended up calling 'hack and smack', because primary attributes are int, cool and body, so I have two approaches - sneak and hack, or hit them with a bigass hammer. Shotgun is a backup weapon. Yeah that's why I like games with CC's as well. Hoping there's something new to like about FC24's CC when that comes out on Friday. Fifa 23's was very good but I'm hoping thereaer some upgrades. Didn't notice any in the games marketing vids but that's not something they advertise much but I noticed it when testing the beta of Fifa 23 compaerd with Fifa 22 so I'm hoping htat'll be the case with FC24. Even if they jus tchange some of the hair to strand styles it would be nice.

I'm hoping after the new update I could play the game before buying the expansion. Also how does the female V's voice sound? I play male and no matter what background I pick he always sounds like he was raised on the streets. I can't have a male corporate V sounding like some street hood.

BG3
I finished my playthrough with my halfling lore bard. It was a really nice experience. I'd say for me BG3 is one of the best games of the decade. I really hope, Larian continues to make games set in the DnD universe.
I started a second playthrough with a Dark Urge character. Dark Urge (or Durge as the community calls them mostly) is another pc made character, but with a set background tied to the story. As the description title suggest, it is dark indeed. You can play this character good and that seems to be a very rewarding experience. My Durge is a Seldarine drow (the good drow) named Suri Mena. She so far is resisting the dark voices in her head and she communicates openly with her companions about it. They are really understanding. She helps, wherever she can and tries to show others, that drow doesn't mean murderhobo. There are very unique dialogues for drow and Durge, so it is an nice experience. I was hesitant to play a drow Durge at first, because it sounded like the ultimate edgelord, but I just play against the stereotype. I use mods this time around.

Pretty much all Vs sounds like street kid, I don't think there is a way around that, it's honestly as much of a writing thing as voice thing. I do love femV VO though. I just play as street kid most of the time These are photo mode pictures! With some mods, like the hairstyle, some of the clothes (the gloves, elbow pads, glasses in that position) and overall body shape. There is technically a third person mod out there, but it never managed to get good enough for me to grab it sadly, it's fairly basic.

My Durge Suri Mena - I really like her. I think, with her amnesia she is wondering, why she ever got that face tattoo - because she is such a nice girl and that tattoo looks more sinister:
The second one looks a bit mean, but she was actually happy, that she was able to help a tiefling lady with some nasty side effects of a potion, she took.

Final Fantasy 7A lot to unpack. I had the nasty feeling I guess over the last few play sessions and hearing news that this was going to be a 'pt 1' situation. And we were going to get a Final Fantasy either complete edition or part 2 because been vaguely following the marketing I guess about...Rebirth? Coming out. And given where the plot was going I did have the feeling that this is where they were going to go with it to which is...kind of annoying. But in a weird part it does put me in a really bizarre sitution because don't know if people haven't noticed in the reading but I haven't really been enjoying this game over much. It has its moments to be certain but...well the combat does it no favors and some of the characters really were off putting and this game also has a really weak problem with antagonists...which the last part is funny given what I am about to say. Yet on the flip side this almost feels like a much lesser example of what happened with the God of War reboot in 2018. Now I enjoyed that game much more but I am just invested enough in this story and specifically with the plot thread with Sephoroth that I almost do want to pick it up and play the rest of it and find out what the heck was going on. And its odd because right now Sephorth is not that compelling of a villain. But I do want to find out what happens and his music is hella awesome. Which then is to say also the big thing that has occured to me is just how this game compares with the original Final Fantasy 7 because this game is...massive. Like I am 30 ish hours into the game like 35 into this version of it and again A. not perfect with the puzzles and B. not being a completionist so that was...fine. But get the feeling from the recent trailer I've seen from it and some of the marketing that Final Fantasy 7 what we are getting is just a huge addition which again just makes me go, wow FF 7 had big scope. But then it also is just like...how did this game work? Got another example of this because wifey put on a video but it is a fascinating thought experiment. So finished annoying bike bit of the game. Then got to the end and Aerith starts being really weird. Fight with Sephoroth, pursue him into a portal, and then fight some giant whispers which are just aspects of a large whisper. Drawn out boss fight that was. From there round 2 vs Sephoroth and his music was blaring, just epic, and the fight was pretty good because of it. Definitley one of the better ones in the game. Also proper fighting cutscenes. Thing is my wife made a comment, guess when I was summoning it, that it would be funny if the fat Chocobo sat on him. And well that is actually how he got finished off. Except not really because he continues to flee. And the longest cutscene in gaming history just plays and I was keeping track because I wanted to record it at least the relevant Chocobo parts but couldn't. All set up for the next game. The team is seperated from their reality. Marlene is off being raised by Aerith's mom and is missing Dad. Somehow Gideon Emery survived...*snort*. And the team basically resolves to continue on and fight Sephy because of saving the planet. Then something really weird happend where another character named Zach (people in the FB comments freaking out about him being in the trailer was another big indication this would end on a cliff hanger)...but then he was carrying on another version of Cloud? Weird. Also Shinra is up to some real bad stuff as per usual. And that's it. Not going to really do a review given the part 1 nature of this, lets see if I ever get to part 2. Fallout New VegasContinuing on recruiting, diving deeper into, and getting used to the mechanics, and collecting resources. Not entirely sure where we left off but recruited Dog. Which was an interesting experience because well the gameplay loop here was my bomb collar would go off. The Dog/ God dynamic is also incredibly creepy. Like I feel horrible doing it and it was creepy, but felt like I had to do it for practicality since God was like 'I'm not the most helpful to you.' So yeah put him back which is...yikes. Going after Christine and the next thing which was introduced was shielded speakers and then ghost holograms that can kill you but they can kill you. And Christine is an interesting case so far I've heard complaints but I am liking how they are handling the mute communication. Though kind of sarcastically it on her. She was not amused.

Like there's the main game (1997) and that's it, but then there's, in order... one sec let me rifle through for my old comment somewhere: Compilation of FFVII expanded universe (2000's)- Before Crisis, mobile game with the Turks six years before FFVII - Advent Children, a film that's a two years after FFVII - Last Order, an animation that's a take on the events in Nibelheim two years before FFVII (EDIT: Made highly optional due to seeming de-canonization after Crisis Core) - Dirge of Cerberus, a PS2 game where you're another character Vincent Valentine, three years after FFVII (this makes it the latest in that chronology) - Crisis Core, a PSP game where you're Zack Fair, starting seven years before FFVII up to soon before FFVII, and it has the recent Reunion remake (PS/Xbox/Switch/PC) Or in chronological order: Crisis Core/Before Crisis/Last Order (the prequel stories), ~FFVII~, Advent Children-->Dirge of Cerberus (the sequel stories) The suggestion for casual audiences would be: Play FFVII, play Crisis Core: Reunion, watch Advent Children, and look out if they do a sort of Dirge of Cerberus remake.(Before Crisis may be covered in the Ever Crisis game below.) And now the more recent 'FFVIIR' setup (2020's)- Remake (2020), which you just played, but the Intergrade version includes a story DLC called Intermission (2021) - The First Soldier (2021), a mobile battle royale that shut down (2023), but is technically some kind of canonical as the training grounds for the first SOLDIERs 18 years before FFVII - Ever Crisis (2023), a mobile gacha RPG where you play through a summary adaptation of all the stories eventually with updates, including FFVII, the whole Compilation, an original First Soldier storyline (with Young Sephiroth), and possibly more; one can play this for the stories but unfortunately they chose to express them in the worst, annoyingly monetized way possible (I'm still playing though) -upcoming 2024's Rebirth, sequel to Remake -upcoming ~2027's third game, sequel to Rebirth The suggestion for casual audiences would be: Play FFVII: Remake Intergrade, maybe try out Ever Crisis if you can stomach F2P mobile, and wait for that Rebirth!(The First Soldier battle royale didn't exactly have 'story' beyond intro marketing material, its a lot of running around BR style but with magic and summons included.) The Remake trilogy is plenty clear enough now that it is NOT meant to be a clear remake, but actually a bizarro sequel story that retreads FFVII's steps. You do not absolutely need to play previous games, including even FFVII, but a lot of Remake's confusion is explained by things being different from FFVII, just as it'll hopefully be partially explained by Rebirth's story coming up. So if you feel like some old school FFVII world stuff, follow my suggestions, but otherwise stick with your approach of maybe-Rebirth-sometime. This list is really more for anyone with any possible interest, not only yourself. EDIT: Additionally, there are some short stories and novels etc. These are at least fairly canonical to the overall thing:
-The Maiden Who Travels The Planet (2005) - Aerith perspective novel during later parts of FFVII - dubious level of canon but it seems to inform later lore -(AC) On the Way to a Smile (2009) - short stories leading into Advent Children; also has a short anime like Last Order -(AC) The Kids are Alright (2011) - a novel about Turks leading into Advent Children -(Remake) Picturing the Past (2020) - a short story from perspective of someone who knew Aerith -(Remake) Traces of Two Pasts (2021) - Tifa and Aerith perspective novel, reuses Picturing the Past content Characters even from these stories have appeared in Remake, so despite Remake's timeline/reality weirdness going on, there's still a Before FFVII World, FFVII World, After FFVII World, and now Remake/Trilogy World, in terms of legitimate media.

I helped this hermit get a good nights sleep. i.imgur.com/QZnDzoB.jpgActually Roche did most of the work, so I let him have the potatoes we got for the job.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

So we now add the Scorpios Rex which, thanks to its creepy vibe, will likely be one of the most interesting attractions:

Looking forward to tonight. Hopefully FC24 unlocks and I get my first look at it. I probably won' tstart career moed yet but it depends really on how much time I spend looking aroun dthe menu's and seeing where everything is. I will likely play a couple of practice games though to get a feel for the game and it's difficulty so that I'll be readyto start my career tomorrow. I will likely choose my first club for my first career though tonight even if I don't properly start it until tomorrow.
