This game looks so good on my new 2560x1440 monitor. The more vibrant colors and extra crispness do stand out, don't they 😁

Maybe technically not the right thread but didn't know where else to put this. And it was too much fun not to share.

SWTORI made a smuggler to do the 15 missions by origin X for the Galactic Season (takes like 30 minutes with a new character Takes less than 10 minutes if you just spam the 3 minute space mission that has 3 bonus objectives.

BG3
My Durge Suri has just helped some zombies It is normally tied to the 'Free the artist' quest, but I haven't freed the said artist, since he is an awful human being, so I wasn't motivated. But I like those zombies, they are really nice, so I killed the mumy lord, who enthralled them and now they opend a shop in his old home - so all is well. With that, SUri has done most of the quests in act 3, the only ones left are House of Hope. I might not convince Yurgir this time to fight for me, since he focusses on Korilla to kill her and I try to keep her alive, to see, if I can bring the two sisters together again, after Raphaels death.
The udnerwater prison - this time, Omeluum is alive (last playthrough, I gave that lady the githyanki egg, which kills everyone in the Society of Brillance in the Undercity, including Omeluum), so I hope, I can get him out alive too.
The Steelwatch - with patch 4, the Gondians should be a bit easier to keep alive. Before, they just ran into danger, like exploding Steelwatchers, now , they hopefully run away.
- Ansur - this time, I'll remember to get Gale for the fight with his Globe of Invulnerability, last time was hard.
Fighting Gortash - that should be straight forward. I wonder, if he has some new dialogue for Suri, since he revealed, that he and Durge were close, so I hope, he will have some dissapointment dialogue.
- And then of course the Netherbrain. My Durge Suri will of course destroy it and hopefully manage to keep everyone alive. One playthrough, I will try the Gale sacrifice ending, but not this time.
Now, that I wrote that out, it looks, like quite the list, she still has to do
And I have several other playthroughs waiting, two Durges, a forest gnome rogue and a tiefling storm sorceress/tempest cleric, and a Tav, a githyanki mage, named Liral. I think, I'll go with Liral first, since she did grow on me. I play her as a githzerai, posing as a githyanki in front of Lae'zel, to avoid in camp drama. Since you are knowledgeable in Faerun lore as a gith too, I headcanon, that she grew up there and learned the customs. Liral wields Phalar ALuve, since gith have proficiency in longswards - and it kind of fits her. She learned performance from Alfira, so having a singing sword is quite in theme.

Sometimes I do dislike this off time I can have and I have been way too up N7 days butt and going through a lot of memory lane on ME and my Shepard and reading fan fics and looking at screen captures. Still playing games...just too busy to get into here and also not wanting to risk a double post...so this is going to be a long arse post. Lets hope it can be somewhat brief.
Saints Row (the reboot)
On the funny note of the day though this is the next game in the PS Plus rotation, while I have it which is also part of the trepididation...and the other part of the trepidation was the genre. See as I have stated a couple of times I don't really go for the whole criminal game element thing. So GTA is a series I don't really plan on getting that much into but I also kind of got the impression that Saints Row was supposed to be a lot more parody driven and ridicilious. And there is that vibe but going into this game was the definite desire to be ridiilious. But playing it its fun because it seems like a direct clone, albeit watered down, clone of GTA 5. The gun shop looks exactly the same and I am shooting cops very early and easily on this. On the weird note to the bounty system is called Noteriety in this, sounds familiar to stuff I want for Dreadwolf...
On there though the one thing is that this game is also weird because your protagonist also works as a soldier at a PMC which seems to be the main drive of the story, at least early on. So that could be the difference and yet its a really odd choice.
So maybe a one entry lightning round...but the CC in this game sucks. Reminds me of the complaints about Andromeda's CC to just actually legit since it does not seem like the options actually change much in terms of facial shape and what not...though it has the ridicilious nature of the Cyberpunk CC.
Oh yeah and trying out more of the accessibility options and color blind mode and forgot the option but it actually does look better with the filter for the colorblindness on, more clear. So that is helpful. Always a bit hesitant to turn that option on and worried it will just mess it up more because I would be more used to the worse thing and also the pride factor might play a thing but definitley something I will keep in mind more for the console generation.
Fallout New Vegas
So I finished Lonesome Road...and I finished the base game to.
Lonesome Road kind of is a two headed coin because of its basic premise. On the one hand its really annoying that Ulysseus is bringing up a whole lot of stuff stuff which happened before the base game so you had no way of actually forming any knowledge of it and the player has no sympathy or connection to said events so its like...I didn't do it.
On the other hand though from a thematic perspective though this is a whole nother conversation about the nature of the ending. I almost feel like they did this whole thing specifically to continue to add more nuance into the endings and your choice of who will run New Vegas because from that perspective Ulysseus does make a lot of good points about things and the accidental nature of what happened and what the Courier did in the Divide just drives the point home. So this is a big condemnation of you going in on your own volition with the 'Yes Man'/ Independent Vegas ending because as it points out you can't neccessarily trust yourself accidents will happen and things will go wrong. And also by extension made a lot of criticisms about the nature of the NCR and how it would happen (though Ulysseus I guess was ex Legion to which adds an interesting niggle to the works). And yeah ultimatley he is right even with the speech options and the chekcs the Courier has brought a lot of death and destruction to the Mojave so against the backdrop of the Divide itself is annoying but it is a nice juxostopistion over what happened in the Mojave and what could go wrong with you going it alone.
THough on the flip side it also weirldy enough made me feel better about the Yes Man choice because a power to counter balance the NCR is also important.
In the end though Ulysseus proved to be quite the bitter opponent. This game me the chance to do more traditional save scumming and choose different options and eventually I talked him down. Which is itself telling. As the two of us work together to stop the launches and survive the waves of Marked Men quite epic . And he said perhaps the best line in the history of Fallout...War, War never changes. But people do. Beautiful thematic message for the counter balance of this because yes mistakes can happen, but there is also always the hope we can learn and move forward.
The ending of the game was weird because of how short and a bit anti climactic it was and also left kind of a bad taste in my mouth for reasons of not being able to side with the NCR as I have brought up, still it was hard to imagine doing them all dirty and the game sort of railroads you into being a dick to Oliver. But kind of getting ahead of myself. So managed to talk Lanius down and he promptly says...I will run from here but return one day with an army see you on the battlefield! So in hindsight much like with the Great Khans (though I did not feel like save scumming and committed to the choice) should've killed him. Or tried. Oliver meanwhile my intention was still to work with the NCR and be trading partners...counter balance, but try and be on good terms. But the game does not allow for it and Oliver heavily implies that the NCR will try and take Hoover back...by force again. Then Yes Man says 'well congrats on your victory but I'm going to go off line for a few days and instal a more assertive personality matrix. Fun. So my reward for an independent New Vegas and being maybe not as firm as I should have been was...to have the remnants of the Legion pissed at me. The NCR pissed at me. And an AI that is going to become more 'assertive.' I don't think the NCR or Legion can back up their threats but not exactly how I was hoping things would go...and some of the ending slides also hammared that point home. I wanted to be a free but peaceful New Vegas.
Also fun glitch happened where the COurier wound up in front of the ending slides like he was watching a move...I could barely see them but it was fun.
So once more kind of where I am at with this game is I really would love to do another playthrough eventually of this game which again how I view things does help indicate the rating I want to give it. Despite its many issues which I have talked about at length. But yeah bits of this game I also genuinely loved. And the thing is I just want to do another play through to make different choices and actually be firmer now that I know what options are and aren't avialble to me and tailor a second playthrough to things I want to do now that I have a better understanding of where the choices go through. As I was telling wifey it is the big draw of doing a second playthrough and one of the reasons why my second playthrough characters tend to end up being the most canon for me. The trouble though with this that its going to be a long time before I want to play this game again so there is a big risk I will be forgetting much of the stuff I want to do and how to do it by the time I get to that second playthrough. lol. But decided if i get it a female Courier who both really loves the NCR and their principles but hates the NCR and their policies...I just realized this essentially makes her Beckett Mariner over from Lower Decks.
Still keeeping all this in mind and in lieu of a more tradiontal review I tend to do, yes some of the game play choices really pissed me off in regards to the endings, but yeah, lower tier 2. I can't justify giving it any lower then that which also makes it the best Fallout game I've managed to play and justify giving it a few. New Vegas, 4, 3.

Control Ultimate Edition:
The game is rough with the blend of Ray Tracing and DLSS tech. It shows why it's one of the first attempts at expanding and showcasing the innovations. It took trying a bunch of mods and files until I got a mostly stable image with minimal artifacting.
The RT feels a bit lacking in volume, but probably because I have experienced it in a much better form in CP2077. And Control was aimed at the 2000 series cards that had a lot less RT power than the current juggernaut GPUs. The one time you notice the RT effects is in the reflections. Certain areas seem made with just the one purpose to make you notice your character in the glass surfaces.
I am still fairly early in the game, but it's quite different than Alan Wake 1. Way more gameplay and combat focus, less character building. The shooting still feels somewhat clunky and I suspect it's not supposed to be your main damage dealer. So far I found a couple of powers - the classic Jedi throw and a shield.
The environment seems to be way more destructible than I am used to. I had a nice feeling of a job well done when looking at the ruins I left behind - started as a perfectly fine looking office space and a minute later was as much rubble as in the final Earth levels in Mass Effect 3. Somehow cathartic
Jesse talks a lot to herself. Even while talking with other people. But the Bureau are probably used to their Director being an oddball...

Robocop Have to repeat some levels again after finding out I missed side missions or items for achievement. For the Arcade, there is the hidden connection. I thought it was an area I couldn't open initially. I repeated and got it opened but it turned out not to be it so I'm not sure where to find the evidence of this hidden connection. There's something at the grocery store as well but I couldn't find anything. For the vulture gang level, I got all the OCP boxes except one which is located on the second floor only accessible by a locked ladder which I can't get to unlock. I got A pass so far in grading but got a B for the bank heist because I didn't discover two secrets. 🙄 Looks like I'll have to repeat. On another front. Finally a launch date for Homeworld 3. February 2024! 😄 Hope the devs kept some of the original sounds tracks and looking forward to new ones. Nothing can beat the purity of voices raised in song. When I heard this back in 1999, it was an ethereal experience. I've the slightly longer original version of this and it sounds better. Yeah hopefully we ge ta release date for Forbidden West soon. I know they said earl y2024 but I'm hoping by the time we get to the Game awards we'll ge ta proper date

Tintin, Cigars of the Pharaoh
Watched some gameplay. The graphics are good, the VAs are good but I'm reading quite a number of negatives on PC performance, lack of clarity on controls, difficult puzzles and QTEs.
General advice; wait for the devs to patch and the price to drop. Right now it's $55 at my end.

Yes, but not when you don't have a Smuggler or BH character with a ship to do them with. What have you been doing for the last 12 years, huh? Creating, playing and deleting characters. I cleaned-up some old characters I wasn't going to replay when I started playing a few weeks ago and I cleared up my Smugglers/BH except one BH on Hutta who already did too much to get the 15 missions in a timeline fashion. So I created a tmp Smuggler. But now I made a real Smuggler. I'm a bit tired of being a Jedi.

I did take a break in favor of Guild Wars 2, maybe I'll come back one day. I liked the class stories.
BG3
My gith mage Liral helped out the Myconids with taking care of the duergar, then she brought Bhelen Bonecloak back and gave his wife a noblestalk (I mainly did it, to see the act 3 content of those two) Most of the Underdark is now cleared out - all, but Grymforge, but now she will get back up again and finish the quests there.
She got shiny noew armor (it'S from a mod - the armor is in the game, but with symbols of a certain evil deity, I didn't want on me, so I'm glad to have it now) - and yes, she has an instrument, she has performance proficiency from Alfira and her tutors lute:
Wyll and Lae'zel got some dashing armor too:

After finishing my P3P pt I had slight dancing fever, playing Persona 3 Dancing and Persona 5 Dancing, mastering hard tracks. Got to the point where I could play some tracks on King Crazy rating, which is no misses or even good hits, just full combo on great and perfect. Which I'm honestly pround of, since it's a lot for someone who doesn't play rhyth games. Then I got into Phantom Thieves mood (curtesy of approaching Persona 5 Tactica), so I've started another pt of Persona 5 Strikes. As of right now I'm done with main plot and post-game requests, but since it's playthrough on new platform, I've some achievements to collect. Only full Persona registery and max Bond skills ones left. The first one is relatively easy, just get Joker to lvl 90 then start new pt and progress far enough to get access to Velvet Room. The second one... well, I know what I'm doing now, so it shouldn't take as long as it did the first time. Hopefully Fortunately - while a bit repetitive - the grind is actually quite enjoyable. For me at least.

Robocop
I think I may be nearing the end. Maybe another three more levels to go.
This game is a very enjoyable shooter. The graphics are good despite what I said in my first impression of it being looking slightly better than Fahrenheit. 🤣 It really helps Peter Weller reprised his role as Robocop because without him, this game wouldn't feel like Robocop. 😄
So far I experienced one glitch and it has to do with a cutscene failing to load after exiting through a door. I had to close the game and restart which resolved the issue as the game automatically loaded the next segment.

I finished Talos Principle 2. All I can say is: Wow! They knocked this one out of the park big time. The whole game is great and the ending is fantastic!!! I cannot overstate this. In a year with Starfield, Diablo 4, Jedi Survivor and many more excellent games and I am not kidding, I think Talos Principle 2 is my GOTY 2023. By the way, I did everything, all the puzzles, monuments, collected all the stars, got all the rewards (well worth it IMO). Looks like I am actually one of the first to do everything. Pretty cool but I do wish more people would be playing this. Great game!

The puzzles put me off the first game, if it is heavily puzzle based I am just not a puzzle person. In that case, the second is probably not for you either. It basically uses the exact same mechanics but adds more stuff to them. But yeah, it's basically puzzles, exploration and story, that's the core of the game.

Hogwarts LegacyIts been awhile since I have been able to play the same game twice in one calander year. Probably Wildlands or Oddysey. And well given the spoiler policy around here this is going to be a bit on the interesting side on how I will go about dealing with that. Especially one play through already under my belt not entirely sure how much I will go into spoiler level content in the first place probably may go re read some of my old stuff to see just how much I have talked about to avoid repeating myself...maybe. That being said. So played a game with a bad character creator to playing one with a descent one. Though I noticed that it cannot really handle...well allowed for you to manipulate a character's nose at all for instance. And in how it handles itself and with it having no codes to anything you definitley have to pay attention to what you are doing and keep track of stuff, so its not perfect. On the flip side though the pre sets do that thing that pre sets can do well...like you get into this thing where you have a blank canvas without restrictions or specific restrictions its hard sometimes to do certain things in it when you have infinite room to make mistakes. But presets can give you a much firmer blue print to work with. And on that note, for the first time ever in my RPG career, I am playing a black character. Marcus Fleming. Gryfindor. Wifey really helped here. Forgot just how fun the combat in this game is. And the fun part to is the full haptics of the Duel Sense is back in full display. Funny as an aside I think I saw a post from Sony the other day celebrating either 150 or 1500 PS5 games. And I am like...but for me still feel like there has been little to play for me and still waiting. Like again love the tech in the PS5 so much that I want to play it yet just got through a rather extended session on a PC game. Anyways. The Path to HogwartsWhilst a lot of what I will be doing will be remembering the combat in this game and the more advanced combos stuff considering that is something my last student, Honor, struggled with did really slide in easily to this. Which was unfortunate. I was just naturally went back in to blocking the initial guards and what not but just naturally casting stupefy. Thing is the game specifically wanted you to just block...not cast stupefy...so all blocks are stupefies yet not all stupefies are blocks. And the annoying part of this encounter is that the statues really didn't like casting attacks so I had to wait...and wait...and wait...and wait. And then Professor Fig blew them up before I could get to them. Gryfindor common room is amazing and big. Also trying to remember the characters and think I bumped into them. The Weasely, Gareth, is obviously memorable but the two others not so much. Kind of fun though one of them liked climbing on things. She was on top of the fireplace when I walked up to it.

SWTOR
I did the FPs for the Galatic Season on my old Consular (the one I started KOTXX with a few weeks ago), because she's already all setup with Kinetic Combat with maxed iLevel DPS gear. Also, stealth means those FPs take way less time. On has a "kill 100 enemies" optional objectives you finish half-way. I killed less than 20 total.
After that, I went and played my new baby Smuggler. She left Ord Mantell now, chasing down a ship thief. She's using the Mercenary combat style, but I might add Scoundrel. I prefer mobility and low level Mercenery isn't very mobile (gets better at higher level).

Robocop
Finished the game. I've also scored all the achievements which aren't hard to get. 😄 I definitely like games that doesn't make it difficult.
On the story, it's clear at one point what's happening with Murphy, why and how.
This game is worth a revisit at a later point if there's a need for a shoot them out. Besides, I didn't get some of the discoveries during missions which would affect Murphy's grading. Luckily, scored enough on the other SQs and he'll score an A on every outing.
On the story, I think the devs can take it to the next development if they want to do a sequel. It would be interesting to see what they can come up with considering the new players introduced at the end and whether they would affect the landscape of Detroit.

On eof the things I've noticed is al the common rooms ae rpretty big. I haven' tbeen to Slytherins yet but certainly the other 3 are. Hufflepuff is a pretty one but Ravenclaw's a nice smart looking on etoo.
