More MEA So after finishing Havarl headed to Eos to meet the Asari refugees with Cora. After that simply put cleared Eos. Marked Drones, placed Beacons for the guy with the dead son, found out what was happening to the missing supplies and sent the people to Prodromos. Placed the amulet for the McCoy guy, found Ann Carroll and the info. found the clues for the missing people/shittle, found memory triggers, followed the clues re Nilken Rensus and the murder case, rescued the idiots trying to tame the remnant, and did the tasks for Bain Massani. Tapped water for Prodromos and took down the remnant Architect, then took down the Kett command Centre. Next back to The Nexus to get Darken out of Cryo and Grave Lito. Pic's New Outfit for Sara, new MOD. Eeek gads, look at all those quest markers. Eos scenery Kett Command Centre Dead Kett Commander First Architect I like this line

Either when I fee llevelled up enouhg t otak ethe architec ton or whe nI do that part of Jaal's quest. But I ten dt ospread th equests out ove rthe cours eof my playthrough's. I suspect I'l go back t odo some once I finish on Voeld though given m yRyder is level 17/18 as I tend to take on the firs tArchitect around level 20 so assuming I stick with MEA tomorrow which is likely given I'm most in the mood for that I may take it on then. Still bus ydoin gquests atm on Voel dthoug h. Right now I'm jus tworkin gon the monoliths and vaul and preparing t otake down the Kett base there. Nothing bette rthan showing the Angara how to take down an enemy.

Pic's New Outfit for Sara, new MOD. Eeek gads, look at all those quest markers. Eos scenery Kett Command Centre Dead Kett Commander First Architect I like this line After realizing I hadn't played a BioWare game in 2023 I've been getting an itch to play something again. Thinking MEA might be in my furture soon...although that would depend on a few things. Hogwarts Legacy Speaking of things like this actually as I restart a new game for the second time one of the big questions that I always tend to debate is 'just how many side quests will I do'. And its always a good one because this game does tend to have a few good side quests...some of these are needed to do though because of the gameplay mechanics...and some of it also really helps with levelling based on how you do the levelling. Now one of the main reasons I am doing this playthrough is because I just want to experience the Sony exclusive quest that I missed the first time so there is some temptation to just...beeline it. As good as the game is and as pretty as it is and as atmospheric as Hogwarts is all these thigns are certainly true and some grinning was had when playing this game...but also some falling asleep (though its been a rough few days in that camp to anyways). So yeah going to be interesting to see where I go with this. Especially since I got to a good place where I can start thinking about side quests and what not. Welcome to Hogsmeade
So everything up to this point has been virtual...tutorilizing plus set up. Though I guess not quite fair given that this game is very good about introducing mechanics to your 'student' throughout the year so...but it taught you how to dodge and also gets you your custom wand so I think the point still stands. lol.
More importantly though just this game now gets high points for foreshadowing and kind of one of the reasons why its a bad idea to review anything, but a game epseically, till you have two instances of it under your belt. But I love the way it kind of talks about and introduces characters in the background, great foreshadowing, and you cannot possibly know this information on a first play through. But Poppy gets mentioned as you are looking at a pair of Hippogrifs and also you bump into Lodgok at the three broom sticks.
Another curious thing and more I am remembering the more I think this was in the first playthrough but Proffessor Weasely asked me who I wanted to teke with me to Hogsmeade, Natty or Sebastian Swallow. Now pretty sure I went with Seb the first time so I chose Natty but A. have to wonder how this will effect things going forward and B. This does make me remember about the whole choose your companion mechanic that the game was heavily implied to have had...and was dropped. Curioser and curiosuer. And if this is a new inclusion via patch, which I doubt, do have to wonder if there will be more instances of this popping up in the game.

DishonoredI played the intro until you get to the hideout. I killed everyone who attacked me, I never did a high chaos run before. Sorry Dunwall citizens, you will probably all get eaten by rats and weepers. The gameplay is holding up too and I don't even have powers yet. SWTORMy Smuggler is now doing delivery runs on the rakghouls infested Taris. After starting with Mercenary with Innovative Ordinance, I switched to Scoundrel Scrapper. The reason: Scrapper looks sturdier after I did a few heroics switching combat style around. In fact, it's currently going pretty good despite the total lack of AOEs on Scrapper (until higher level and the aoe tactical), Corso being a crap healer and the gameplay being punches and a few shutgun slugs to the back. Saying that, punch killing rakghouls and droids is somewhat amusing. Takes a lots of disbelief suspension thought. I mean, I'm punching hard enough to kill things that even lightsabers have issues dealing with... Like the screenshot below, I'm talking to a dude I defeated in an Heroics, he's like 8 feet tall and fully armored in heavy armor. Got defeated by a few punches and shutgun slugs.

Homeworld Deserts of Kharak
I think this a 6th PT. 🙂 I decided to replay the trilogy and grabbed that last achievement between Homeworld 1 and 2 because it doesn't make much sense to be doing it at the end of #2. #1 is when the Mad Emperor forged an alliance with the Turanic Raiders.
The history of the Hiigarans spanned 10 000 years. Rising to a high level of advancement before falling to a rival in the inevitable war of supremacy and conquest. The Hiigaran Empire was vanquished. On the pleas of the Galactic Council, the victorious Taiidan condemned the remaining Hiigarans to exile instead of wiping them out.
The Hiigarans lost part of their convoy of which the missing part would go on to form their own civilization. The rest made planetfall on the desert planet of Kharak. The Hiigarans gradually lost the knowledge of technology in the fight to survive on Kharak. The survivors scattered and formed various clans as they wandered to the northern regions in search of hospitable conditions to live. Their origins became myth and bits and pieces of knowledge that survived eventually formed the religion of the clans. Wars would be fought amongst themselves.
The Hiigarans would discover technology again when the clans became more secured in their holdings. Moving once more down the path of mining metal to steam power, explosives and refining techniques. They would once more discover space flight and launched their first satellite. A few years after, Hiigaran scientists would confirm that Kharak was dying. In less than 350 years, the planet would no longer support life. Thus began the search for a solution.
The discovery of the anomalies scattered across the Great Banded Desert and the largest artifact called the Jaraci Object would spark expeditions to find answers. Operation Khadiim was the second expedition in which the story of Desert of Kharak took place.
It was from this expedition that Rachel S'jet would rediscover the origins of the Hiigarans, that they came from Hiigara in the abandoned city of Khar-Toba. The Guidestone in the city contained the coordinates of the planet Hoogara. The advanced technology found in wrecks and intact ships would advance the Hiigarans further. Rachel suggested building the Mothership, use the Guidestone and return to Hiigara. Her plan was approved by the Coalition. The project was anticipated to take 60 years during which 600 000 people would be stored in cryo suspension for the journey to Hiigara.
Thus begin the story of Homeworld. 😄

The blurb on this guy is quite, something... It's from Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars. Funny thing is I'm playing a custom race that's pretty much the Federation from Star Trek, and trade treaties and pollution clean-up are rather useful for me. Good job Trevor!

God of War: Ragnarok:Weather's turning cold enough around here to get me back into the GOW/Frostpunk mood. Got to Nidavellir in Svartalfheim and met Sindri, and this being my second playthrough it broke my heart when he went "I got an idea to upgrade your bow!" like old times and Atreus just handed him his mom's bow without hesitation, and watched the process of enchantment with this trusting, appreciative smile. This is before we get the full scope of how much time these two have spent together between games, so it feels like a nostalgic throwback to their old dynamic on the last adventure. Wish I'd thought to take a screenshot of Atreus' expression. They're in such a good place at the start of the game... DishonoredI played the intro until you get to the hideout. I killed everyone who attacked me, I never did a high chaos run before. Sorry Dunwall citizens, you will probably all get eaten by rats and weepers. The gameplay is holding up too and I don't even have powers yet. I pretty much always turn Coldridge Prison into a bloodbath, just because it doesn't seem like Corvo would feel very forgiving of the people keeping the Lord Regent's political enemies quiet and confined fresh out of the torture chamber. It's when he has the most to lose with the fewest resources, so makes sense he'd resort to lethal force. Also allows you to get some of the relish at the (excellent) first-person melee combat out of your system before you get so many weapons and powers that killing starts feeling kind of trivial. Murdering indiscriminately by path of least resistance gets old and easy very fast, so I've usually had the most fun deciding if I'm either gonna vaguely try to avoid combat and only lash out at guards and enemies in self-defense, and save my real creativity and bloodthirst for the targets and special encounters... or go more of a 'make your own fun' route and turn every encounter into an experiment in how inventively and viciously I can humiliate and thrash anything that stands in my way.

I may reinstall Gotham Knights down the line topla ythat agai nbu tdon' tknow yet. As I' mkind of thinking of having a bit of a super hero stint between that Spiderman and maybe more Midnight Suns and anothe rgo a tthe Avengres game. I think it's likely I'll use cheats to help with Spidey and Gotham Knights given I was strugglin g t okee pup with Spidey at times in that first boss fight to the poin twhere I just couldn't beat it. I ma yintegrate them in wit hmy other RPG's though. Mostl ybecaus eatm I'm kind of in the mood for some action and whilst I'm gettin git throug hmy ME an dHogwarts playthrough's atm I'm kind of feeling a superhero itch

Downloading Starfield today will probably take a look a ti twhen it's done and create m yfirs tcharacter. Tomorrow and the nex tday I'llprobabl ydownload Avengers and Gotham Knights and at least maybe tr yand play the Avengers game perhaps again.Though o fthose 2 Gotham Knight swill be m ymain focus as I'm kind of in the mood for kicking ass as Batgirl again in that.Mustadmit I'm kind of tempted to kind of create Batgirl in Gotham FC seeing a sthere is a football club called that in the NWSL probably as a striker.

I think m yGOTY is still Hogwarts but of the ones on th elisty I'd vot eBG3. Surprised Hogwarts didn't make the list given how well it sold. I'm not surprised by the lack of Starfield being there as Xbox games rarely get the credit they deserve I've noticed most of the time.

After the Golden Joystick Awards, I'd be surprised if BG3 didn't win GotY. I don't expect BG3 to do as well here as it did in the GJAs, but... well enough. Very happy to see Alan Wake II with so many nods, though I'm worried it may not pick up much when it's all said and done. It'd be nice to be proven wrong here though. Starfield. Yeah. I thought it was a good-but-not-great game, and just had the extra misfortune of coming out in 2023. Not that matters in the end, because...

My time at Sandrock Played a bunch with Rosa then realized that Bandits on the Storms bugged out so if I want to do it I need to roll back to the start of the session. Wooo. Could also just skip it, but kinda also want to go spelunking with Ernest and most of the session I'm loosing was mostly lollygagging either way. Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name. Think I'm fairly close to the end. Except the end is always a fairly lengthy ordeal and supposedly have to wake up early tomorrow. So bleh. Session in spoilers. It's mostly just blabbering about sidequests and maybe some minor main story spoilers, but just to be safe. So they changed the Sidequests into Requests, which kinda stinks because I liked how you just kept bumping into weird and colourful people but now you need to talk to the request giver to set you up with said weird and colourful people. And you have to go through the menu for each request which adds a bit of tedium to it. The sidequests are a blast though so it's not a big deal. My favourites so far have been End of Destruction and a photography one. There is also Stroll and Patrol which is a bunch of mini quests. Like taking pictures, beating up small groups and fetch quest stuff. There was one where you grab a tooth off the roof and give it to a kid to find out he tossed it there but was panicking since he realized he tossed a tooth from the wrong side of his mouth and he was terrified this would make his teeth grow backward into his mouth. But now he could toss a tooth from the correct side on the roof. And it has just been living rent free in my head because wtf?! The others have been a bit more normal. Colosseum is tied to the main game, which is disgusting. JK. They've changed the battles so most of them are just one round instead of three, which I love and adore. They did remove the free for all fights , which is sad because those were my favourite. Mostly because I could goad the others into taking each other out and then attack the scraps like the dirty vulture that I am. But there isn't too much mandatory fighting there so that's good. There is a clan building gimmick which hasn't been so bad, except one of the requests is tied to it and the fellow you need to fight has like 60 health bars or something so I end up running out of time trying to wail on him. But . He. Just. Won't. Die. So figure I'll have to do some grinding. As usual there was also a main story fight which was just glorious. The Cabaret club now has videos of real life girls. Which feels a bit awkward. But they are very pretty. And since there isn't a special dialog for specific gifts I can give them eggs and get thanked for it. As I should since those were Quality Eggs. Only finished one route so far. Also you can't take them on date outside the club, so no karaoke for me. Tragedy. But you can sing with the request giver. And the main quest has a bit where you go out with a big group and one of the activities is singing Granted it's just one song, but damn it was a good motivator to get those 90 points. And you can sing it over and over. They can't leave. Sayonara Silent Night for all eternity. Did get 98 points in one of the goes so that was a blast. And some more Karaoke bragging. Got my highest score ever with Baka Mitai : 99.486 points which put me at rank 3 in the leaderboards. My pride knows no bounds! So been having a blast and can't wait for next session.

Hogwarts Legacy
Got on today and something interesting happened. I auto locked a lot of free cosmetics apparently...and my third character slot is back. Which is kind of an interesting place to be in because well free cosmetics are always good and you always want to test them out...and Markus has little to wear right now so it kind of goes in the default. But they don't really match him per se. The Merlin Cloak is very cloaky and thick and is like a starry night theme on it, of wonder and majesty and curiosity. Then a lilac vest which looked OK but it has a gaudy purple bow on it. And then a lightning themed red scarf. The Merlin Cloak probably isn't going to be him because he is not really that curious of a character and into that aspect, planning on kind of making a Grfindor/ Slytherin hybrid in essense really brave and courageous but in a very flamboyant and arrogant way as well. So either more 'military' stuff or more loud and gaudy. Almost brave to the point of being reckless and amoral about it. So forbidden curses will be on full display. Anyways got him in the free version of Professor Ronen's Charm's proffesor get up which is nice because its in the Gryfindor colors but moonlighting as a Professor Ronen cosplayer isn't to my taste but until I unlock some more of the cosmetics in the game. And well the next character I plan will be a Slytherin gal with a hyrbid of Grfindor and maybe a dash of Ravenclaw so I would think that might not work to but then I remember Merlin was a Slytherin to so that actually really fits because my idea is...well again 'bravery is not good and can be reckless' with Markus but then she, whoever she is, will be 'ambition is not evil and can be tempered with morality.' If I get that far because I also really wish this game could have NG+ that would fit it so well, may post on that in the DA:D wishlist thread.
As for the actual gameplay I guess theme of the day is remembering some parts thanks to being a second playthrough but I guess not remembering other parts or weird restrictions keeping you down. The primary purpose after the Hogsmeade quest for me was to tutorialize for myself the more side mission and activity stuff available now, the puzzle doors, the moth puzzle quest (which I did) and the Merlins Trials. Apparently though the Merlin's trials are actually a main story? Either way they were unavailable because after spending most of the time looking for them for an hour I couldn't find a single one and well I looked it up and the quest for them is definitley in the village that I thought they were in so for whatever reason they just aren't available yet. Really weird on why they did it and they how but its done so I have to advance the story.
On the way though did get into a lot of troubles. I do like this game that you can handle higher level enemies because the blocking mechanics are just that good but did give me a lot of trouble so yeah clearly I am doing things out of order lol. Just don't know where I should beeline to next and what the part is that you can start it. I think the game does eventually 'push' you outside.

Looking at the GOTY nominees and my thoughts are in the order:
1. Will play in the near future.
2. GOTY
3. Might play when released on PC
4. Won't play
5. Won't play
6. Won't play
That was a tough choice 🤣

Homeworld
The ships I lost the most are the lightweights; interceptors and bombers. The heavier class can withstand the hammering provided I send support ships to repair.
It's always an emotional moment when the Exiles destroyed the Mad Emperor and stepped foot on Hiigara. Karan S'Jet most of all. First to board the Mothership and last to leave it.
On to Homeworld 2. 😄

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.
