Alan Wake IIHad a little time to play last night, though I feel like I'm moving the ball forward one yard at a time. Little sad we couldn't ride anything at Coffee World. The view from the Ferris Wheel would have been nice. Explored some of the surrounding areas - the Lighthouse and Kalevala Knights Hall. Some areas are still gated off, requiring tools I don't have yet (eg. bolt cutters), so we'll be back here at some point. Briefly met up with a couple of familiar faces from the original game in a nearby trailer park... The Old "Old Gods of Asgard" Odin & Tor. It looks like we'll meet up with them again later at their retirement home. Plenty of experiments going on from the Bureau of Control, including this reality-altering one which took a page from the BG3 romance guidebook... Then one more super-annoying multi-boss battle before getting back to Alan Wake. And he's... having a rough go of it.

SWTOR
I finished Nar Shaddaa and I got the best live Teddy Bear you can have: Bowdaar. He's going crush-hug all my enemies. Figuratively, he actually hits them with a melee weapon in-game, not Wookie-hugs outside of the Life Day event.
Then I got an "ambush" in a old space ship and new deliveries to make on Tatooine and Alderaan.

Control Ultimate Edition
Finished the main game and an Alan Wake DLC. One DLC left, but I am somewhat burned out on this game, so not sure I will play it any time soon. Might just turn on infinite health/energy and rush through.
The game is definitely more fun than Alan Wake. All the powers, destruction, etc is quite entertaining. But Jesse is a paper cannon and seems to die from anything. Even with heavily upgraded health and shield. The gun is crap. And yes, I tried a lot of modes and upgrades. Some enemies are way too spongy. Throwing stuff is the way to go, but energy can often be an issue. Overall the combat restrictions take away from the experience. You can't see crap when the shield is up. I get that it's supposed to make it more horror like, but it's actually annoying-like. Fights get way too long and unbalanced, forcing you into the same combat loops. The constantly respawning enemy waves reminded me of DA2.
Not a game I feel like replaying, but it has a lot of good qualities. The "Warehouse 13" theme in a horror vibe is welcome. I think that if I lower the damage dealt to Jesse and increase hers slightly, the fights would be way better.
Robocop Rogue City
I caved, all right? Meant to get this on a sale next year. But the reviews were great and I quite enjoyed Terminator Resistance.
I am a moderate fan of the movie(s) and the game absolutely captures the vibe. Did only a few missions, but I already like the gameplay and mechanics. Simple, but effective. The maps are not huge, which is a plus. Still, apparently I should have explored a bit as it turns out I missed a few side missions in the initial stages. Don't think I can get back to finish them by the looks of it.
It's refreshing to not be required to run around fast, jump up and down or rush for cover. I mean, cover is still useful, but you don't hunker down in it. More of a temporary line of sight hiding back and forth for a quick reload or heal.
The game looks really good with everything cranked up. I am actually impressed. A lot of it is art design of course, but still. Some real nice work went into the lighting as well. Only issue I noticed is that DLSS sometimes introduces a bit of ghosting on edges and hair. But it's minor and you can RP that it's a glitch in Robo's optical sensors. But I see what was previously said here about the faces. They look like a previous gen, but so far are the only slip up in the visual presentation.
I started cranking up Deduction first, despite Psychology and Engineering looking tempting. I need those 30% extra EXP Engineering will be next since those locked safeboxes taunt me! The game doesn't seem to have NG+, but frankly I will just cheat myself the skill points when I do another run.
If the following levels keep up the quality, this game is an AA gem. Very faithful to the source material (like Terminator Resistance was) and well executed.
Really hoping the developers do a Predator game next. I can see it being an absolute blast.

So we return to Jurassic World Isla Cabrera as I work to unlock the Dunk and Nothosaurus from the aquatic pack in order to also unlock their dig site entry (I also do the same with Archelon and Shoni) and then add those two to the lagoon after doing some changes:

RoboCop: Rogue City
Justice was brought to Old Detroit, again. As a fan of the movies (mostly the original one really) I'm very happy with how seriously the game is taking them. It made me feel like I was walking through the movie set, being RoboCop. None of that "adapted for a modern audience" garbage on display here.
Hearing the movie's iconic music during epic shootouts was something else. Also I really like how two of RoboCop's prime directives (Serve the Public Trust and Uphold the Law) can actually oppose each other. The ending was satisfying too since I got to talk to most main characters near the end and a last episode of Media Break telling me how everyone was affected in the end.
I will definitely play this again.

Hogwarts Legacy.
So yeah Merlin's Trials is actually considered a main story quest *snort*. I mean given how important they are to gameplay that does make a lot of sense actually but they are a collectathon busy work type of RPG open world nonsense puzzle quest thing that really bored me. Wildlands still had by far the best gameplay loop when it came to this sort of thing. And it did mroe or less drop out of the blue.
So the assignments are interesting and this game continues to annoy me in how its refusing to let me do what I want. I remember the assignments being really grindy my first PT but yipes. I was intending on saving Crossed Wands until later so I could actually have more spells...but that is actually one of the official assignments that Professor Hecat gives you for Incendio...makes a lot of sense. Also not sure how much it occured to me but I really did get into a good rythym of accioing a target towards me then casting Incendio to burn them since that is the short range spell. Can't wait for Confringo.
Not much to say from a spoiler perspective and too arsed to look up the quest name to spoil it but continuing to lay the ground work for Seb and...well I do think it actually dropped a plot point a little bit given how peeved the librarian was. Also its funny I do remember that exact cutscene with honor and the facial animations being the same.
But yeah the assignments are grindy for Expelliarmus.
Saints Row.
So if you could not tell in a way I was not enjoying this game so far and thinking of giving it up in a way very quickly because it just reminds me way too much of GTA and not the parody experience I was expecting, sure my fault. Plus I had a nasty glitch which stupidity/ stubbourness really took up most of my gameplay. Seems you can get stuck in your car without being able to get out or even hit start to quit the game or save it to try that method.
Plus today instantly start along on my mission and accidentally run into a civi so that got the cops on my ass and well I do not like getting into fire fights with them or the portryal of them in the game with one of them being...very overweight to put it nicely. Plus the combat in this game so far reall reminds me of Inquisition because despite being a shooter there is no real cover system in here which is just plain stupid...that I found. So you just randomly blast away at people standing in the middle of nowhere. This is not fun, it works in Inquisition given its medeval setting and magical shields and what not but for a modern shooter with none of those things its very frustrating. On the flip side the melee system is hilarious and the 'press button to activate special finisher' is actually much more fun then God of War given how easy its to activate, and given its slightly less brutal. I wouldn't mind them doing something like this for Dreadwolf.
After I got to the mission though things got a lot better though and there is some hope for this game yet, basically got more into that absurd Saints Row over the top borderline parody I was expecting. And two story missions got railroaded in a row so that is what I did basically.
First off after robbing Los Panteros (who robbed us) last time we got to protect the artefact at its museum gallery. Los Panteros crashed the party. Then the idols crashed the party. Massive three way gun fight which ended with my character choosing to go after and help one of the board of directors and save her rather then making sure the Codex was intact. Aticus pitched a big fit on this and said 'you are expandable' to both me and her. Which is bizarre since she is on your board of directors idiot. But then he fired us.
Which led to a purely hilarious scene where you are moping around in your undies at home, having to press button prompts to get you out of bed, having to cook a single lone waffle for yourself. Bit weird that so far I have got 20 K of money but we have no groceries. Anyways though minor complaint as this is funny as hell and quickly we discover that Los Panteros is gonna raid a Idols celebration party over the codex. And well again long story short Neena quits the Panteros and Kev the Idols because Kev and Eli goes to said party and get caught in the cross fire, Eli quite literally.
So yeah what I have been doing to this point is pretty much tutorial and as I said hope for this game yet. We get back home and my character has the bright idea, since all of us have now gone incumincado from our respective home groups, to just start our own criminal Empire. They also have a cat named Snickerdoodle which helps convince Eli to join in on the hijinks. More of what I was anticipating as I said and now I look forward to giving this game more of a chance.

I will definitely play this again. Yeah it definitely has a nostalgic feel for the films in it. I think it's also helped by they got the original actor to reprise his role. But yeah I agree it definitely makes me feel like I'm playing a proper Robocop game in that it's not just called a Robocop game it genuinely feels like one.

Got Eternal Bonds achievement for maxing BOND skill levels, which ended my Persona 5 Strikers grind. Right on time, since Persona 5 Tactica comes out on Friday and I'd be torn on what to do. I can't tell what I'm more excited about - more Phantom Thieves' shenanigans or new Lyn songs Anyway, during grind I managed to get enough Incense, Yen and Persona points to max 3 of my favourite Persona. If I ever get to play NG+, I'll most likely max some more, but for now I only had patience for my favs.

Made the horrible mistake of playing Demonheart Cursed Trial. Thankfully it's still in early access so my binge was cut short. Like those hours just went snap. But ooof full release will be fun. Finished Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name main story. All in all I had a blast. Got a few substories, the colosseum and some minigames to go through. The substories are mostly tied to the colosseum so, guess I'll have to spend some time there. The minigame is going to require a walkthrough because I don't know what the heck I'm doing. There is no achivo for playing on the hardest difficulty so figure that will be on the back burner. But will make trying to 100% the other achivos a bit more tempting. But it was a blast. Also tried the demo for Infinite Wealth and while I was like 98% going to buy it this slapped it to a 100%. So good times. Also didn't know Persona 5 Tactica was about to release and I'm still delightfully blind. So farewell money, it was nice knowing you.

Alan Wake IIGetting into the good stuff now, starting with the chapter "We Sing". If you plan on playing the game, you might want to skip these first screenshots... That's right... Alan Wake - The Musical. Defintely a WTF pivot in the game. The entire chapter has you navigating through the Dark Place while an all-singing, all-dancing retelling of your life plays in the background. If you linger too long in an area, the characters start giving you directions, assuming that you're lost. After that... interlude.. we're back in "NYC", trying to find our way into a hotel. Once inside the hotel, we run into another familiar character from the previous game... ... Thomas Zane. And the FMV segment here's a blast.

Hogwarts Legacy
Getting around to the Merlin's Trials in earnest today. Did three of them. The big thing of course, and theme of the day, is still getting different spells which will help me solve said puzzles. Still got through the three I solved today. Just the first one...actually I think this is the first time I solved the tutorial one you got through the 'archeologist' for Merlin. So there is that and well it was a thing because the first one solve and the second one to unlock the first expansion for the inventory so that encourage me to do another and the second one was a...brat...took me awhile to actually figure it out and well not sure if it glitched but it was the globe things you could break with basic cast...and well either I lost one or it dissapeared but a reload and got in the flow. The third one was the simple drag balls along with accio.
So combat and well levelling is fun and replaying things are fun and learning but sometimes the power set and tools you have at the beginning of the game, the lack of them, can be a bit lacking. Was having a fun time cleaning out a goblin camp but then had to use up like seven wiggenweld's in a row and well this one Goblin kept casting a shield I did not have a counter for so that was just putting me into a cascading amount of mistakes so that was something. Still discovered that stupefy can also break shields.
And the grind continues. Granted while this isn't exactly the best game design the whole assignment system does encourage you to play with your stuff to learn it and go out into the world to do side activities rather then just bee lining. Granted I really miss Confringo.

Homeworld 2
The last fight is always the most annoying and hectic. The problem with #2 is that the decision to jump to hyperspace is not within player control. For #1, it is. To be given that control meant there is time to gather more resources and rebuild destroyed squadrons and ships.
Although #2 automatically restore depleted squadrons at the beginning of every mission, destroyed squadrons are not restored. This could lead to hectic moments if the enemy is right on top the moment the Mothership exits hyperspace.
Bombers are required for every mission except the last when speed is more important so when Sajuk (the ship Karan S'Jet now commands) exit hyperspace, the bombers have to be retired and more interceptors build to replace them. This takes time.
I had to try a few times for the last fight until I realised I have to focus on three sectors. The attempt that succeeded without losing any of the 180 million Hiigaran on the planet was to send group 6 (three different class frigates) straight to the left to take out the enemy shipyard. Group 9 of heavy cruisers and torpedo cruisers were sent to the right to take out the second enemy shipyard.
The dreadnought was sent to the middle sector with support ships. Two squadrons of interceptors each to left and right and two more right to the end of the map dead ahead. These are the three areas the planet killers will appear.
Another annoyance was although hitting the Home key is supposed to take me to the base, hitting it kept switching me to the carrier and or the repair base, not Sajuk. It was aggravating until I zoom out to locate Sajuk and had it hyper to the planet killers. I had to keep doing this because the stupid Home key wasn't doing what it's supposed to do.
Anyway, Homeworld 2 is done and I have completed all the achievements.

Damn I was sitting on the fence re this one, might be my next buy based on the reviews I have seen and your comments. If you're referring to Robocop then it's probably safe to say if yo uenjoyed the films back in the day you'll like the game. As I think that's where the game gets it's inspiration from. Even to the point of how Robocop behaves really. Onl ydiffrenc ebeing you are Robocop in this. Must admi tthinkin go freinstalling on eor 2 of my smaller games like Asterigos atm and play them again but might wai tuntil after I at least finish Act 1 o fMidnight Suns first. Mainly so I don't intrerupt my rhythm with it. Hopefull ywil l pick up both Morbius and Storm today.I probabl ywon' tpla ythe smaller games ye tthough as I should finish som eplaythrough's I have on th eg ofirst. Maybe once I've done my HZD run I have planned I'll look at playing them.

Hogwarts LegacyGetting around to the Merlin's Trials in earnest today. Yeah I fin dthe Mrelin trial sa little bit of a pain. I normally d oenough t ocrank m yinventory up a coupl eof levels bu tthat's usually it. As I mostl yonl y use i tfor that and giving myself some XP fo rlevelling up. I don't tend to do that many of them

Got my first legendary component in Everspace 2. Finished up a quest chain and got a legendary flak canon. Pretty cool weapon, its a slower firing gun but is basically a proximity aoe blast. And the added legendary effect is that if it has a direct hit on a target it triggers a mini space tear that does 100% more damage. Looks pretty cool when it goes off.

Took me over 2 hrs (IIRC) to crawl around and finish the mission, and some crazy stunts. Bombers slowing enemy battlecruisers by attacking their engines then moving to the next one, etc. But I managed.
Took me a bit under half an hour to do the mission the next time.

SWTOR
My Smuggler is done with all the sands and rocks of Tatooine. Their bargain was interrupted by a Sith and Jedi quarrel, so it was more like an inheritance kind of thing. Next stop is Alderaan.
Dishonored
I finished the "prologue" and got the creepy handy pulsing heart thingy that act as some sort of "companion" in the game and has other utilities. I forgot about it really. Now I got my first real mission.

AC Odyssey
Picking up where I left off. I finished parts of the main quest in which I have Aspasia on the ship and Athens is supposed to be plague stricken. I stopped there however and went on SQs in order to find the members of the Cult of Kosmos so Athens miraculously "recovered". 🤣 I've mostly cleared the members and those that have to be found can only be done by moving the main quest forward.
Killed some mercenaries including one with the nickname of Lover of Flames; he died by fire btw.
Also found the last achievement can only be done by reaching Atlantis. Still a long way to go.
