Continuing through my journey to work on my backlog. I decided to start up Dragon Quest XI Definitive Edition. So far I'm enjoying the story and characters, and the combat is pretty decent.
Build wise I might make my hero a sword and shield, with a little dip into the luminary side as well. Not sure how many points you'll have by the end to max out so will see.

Played Jedi Survivor for something like 4 hours yesterday afternoon....Today I will be returning to Koboh after defeating the Big Purple Bastard and Pastey Face Psycho. I have a feeling Bode is going to betray me soon (I know it's coming, but it breaks my heart because I like his character. But even from the first time I played it...soon as he mentioned he had a daughter and that everything he did he did for her....I knew that at some point he would stab me in the back if it meant protecting her. And I get it, but it still hurts. Cal and Bode seemed to have a great friendship.)

Neverwinter Nights 2Finished up Rithralia's journey
After meeting with the Founder of Safiya's academy, Rithralia and her companions laid siege on the City of Judgment to reclaim her lost soul
In the end she succeeded in doing so, and though the god Kelemvor wasn't exactly pleased, he told her he bore her no ill will either.
Afterwards, Kaelyn the Dove continued the crusade against the Wall of the Faithless, intend on tearing it down in it's entirety. Bear god Okku decided to travel with Rithralia and Gannayev for a while, as did Safiya. Safiya eventually returned to her old academy, taking over the role of headmistress from her deceased mother. Okku eventually returned to his barrow to rest once more, showing up every now and then to defend Rashemen from outside threats.
As for Rithralia and Gannayev, they eventually traveled back to the Sword Coast, back to West Harbor where her journey once began. There the pair married, bearing witness to their union where both old friends and new.
...
So yeah...I finished up this game ^^
In total this playthrough took me 10 days, 7 for the official campaign and 3 more for the expansion.

I am almost done with Cyberpunk 2077. I just stopped doing side gigs and buckled down on the main quest and I think I am almost done. Since I am nearing the end I've been thinking about replaying The Witcher 3. I own the GOG.com version so I have access to the classic version, but since CDProjectRed will be releasing a modding kit this year I wanted to know if the next gen version of The Witcher 3 is stable? I've read reviews where there have been complaints about stability. Since I am not a big graphics person I don't mind playing the classic version which by the way still looks good to me. I am only interested in the next gen version for the modding tool kit.

Played A Date with Death, free Steam visual novel where you're chatting with Grim Reaper. It took me almost 3h for one ending (while occasionally getting distacted by build in mini games). I'll most likely replay it to see some other things, as well as to check more dialogue options. Which I love btw. One of my favourites was when Grim Reaper asked me... ...where exactly I think he lives, after saying that place is in different plane of existence than mortal realm. My options? 1) Underworld 2) Heaven 3) Australia
There was only one option I could choose, right? Loved the exchange that followed.

PLayed more of Jedi Survivor today, and yup yesterday when I said "I have a feeling that Bode is going to betray me soon"...when I picked it up and played today, that's exactly what happened. Bastard. It broke my heart to watch him shoot Master Cordova, and then it made me angry to see him shoot him a second time. So I chased after him on the speeder bike (which is quite an exciting sequence) and fought him....then I tore through Nova Garon looking for him because I wanted to rip his head off.
Now I'm at Tannalorr and I'm coming for him.

Finished Jedi Survivor today (2nd PT since April 28th 2023), what an amazing, incredible game. Honestly in terms of fun gameplay, emotional story, engaging content and all around gaming EXPERIENCE...I would put Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor right up there with the ME OT. There were times when I was frustrated with the gameplay (in a good way because it was challenging), then there were times I was excited and having fun....and then there were times I wanted to cry. All the while I found myself invested in Cal's journey especially when you put then events of Fallen Order and Survivor together rather than looking at the individual games. Sure, they can be viewed that way and considered that way and they won't lose any points on their own....But when you put them together to tell one larger story it makes both of them that much better....And Jedi Survivor, especially, did not disappoint.
The one drawback of Fallen Order (which was annoying but ya get used to it) was the back tracking due to lack o fast travel. But still, that didn't really take away from the greatness of them game itself (characters, story, content, gameplay etc), and thankfully, that minor issue was resoloved in Survivor with the addition of a fast travel system. So alll around, for me thus far, Jedi Survivor hits a 10/10....Here's hoping a 3rd installment WILL BE MADE (I know there are 'plans', and 'hopes' to make one...But is it set in stone yet?) Let's hope so.
Survivor (and Fallen Order I imagine) are much better with a Controller from the start. Greatly improved the enjoyment and playability. KBM was easier with Fallen Order, but still. Controllers make games like this easier.
Will be playing Survivor again starting next weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Jedi Survivor. And I still say Coruscant is one of my favourite levels, the other being Jedha.

Finally completed Cyberpunk 2077! The game was great overall but the ending I got made me depressed. I won't go into spoilers here, I know there are other endings like in The Witcher 3, and I know I can go back to before the final main quest chain. But the ending like I said made me depressed. So I won't look at the other endings tonight. I will view them tomorrow night if not later. Now I know why Kappa Neko said she was going to play a light hearted game after CP2077.

Yeah, the game still haunts me. And playing the other endings does not help, lol. Depends on your perspective though. There's one I would consider as "happy" as it gets given the circumstances. Definitely worth it to see all endings to get a complete picture and be amazed at how much work went into each faction endgame. It's not like ME3 where the colors just slightly changed. Or Deus Ex HR, which was just as lazy back in the day.

I can't be 100% sure, but I am pretty confident that whenever I actually finish Far Cry 6, it will have taken longer - in terms of start date to finish date - than any game I've ever played. April 2023 I started.
I've taken plenty of breaks and played other things, and only have about 35 hours so far, but I keep finding the fun. I still don't know - or care - if it is supposed to be a 'good' Far Cry game - never played one before this, but I'm having a blast.

Been playing more Spiritfarer... About 29h now. This is what my almost fully built ship looks like now. As pretty as I could arrange stuff. Every time it's time for a spirit to go I tear up. Last session I happened to send off 3 at the same time, one after another. I almost didn't make it through all that. Cannot deal with too much sentimetal dying stuff all at once! Also I briefly had no spirits on the boat afterwards. That felt incredibly sad and lonely. I wish it was possible to have them all on the boat at the same time but that's not possible. One spirit had a very surprising final scene. Whole time totally annoying casanova, cheating on his wife. Just insufferable narcissist. Then as we glide towards the Everdoor, he talks about the war he was in. Soldier buddy of him stepped on a landmine and died in his arms. DAMN. Did not see that coming... More screenshots of the game's gorgeous art style:

Dragon Quest XI: Got 2 more party members. One being mostly support magic by the looks of it and the other more damage focused magics. Also encountered the first 2d side quests..ya not really a fan of those. I was just trying to explore the first little zone and was getting random encounters like every 2 seconds. May have to just use some hacks to burn through those super fast.

Hey Dani climbed a really fucking big hill. That's quite the pose in photo mode. Always need to experiment with those more. Granted always more difficult I guess when the character isn't custom. Yeah. As someone who was pretty luke warm on the other Far Cry games I've played 6 is by far my favorite. And Giancarlo Esposito, whom I am a pretty big fan of too, his role in that is probably my favorite role he's done. *** NHL 22Bit of a unique situation presented itself today. Started off playing AC Mirage but the Bruins game was on and on Hulu so I was able to watch it, kind of, but it wouldn't play on the tv so wifey just put it on her phone for me to listen to...and I didn't want to distract myself in case I ran into story content...so I booted up this game. Which I have been playing every single day this week but...you know. Just muted the tv volume, funny story the controller wasn't muted though so there was that. Game was against the Edmenton Oilers and this is the wildest game maybe I've ever played. Just so many goals. So many penalties. So many really fun moments. Hell as a preview both goalies got pulled in the game too it was just that insane. And well trying to remember just all the goals that happened to but I've been really hot on the power play scoring on like lets see 6 of the last 7 on the last two games. Pastranak has also been super hot over the last little bit, just has started the season cold but he is coming down and starting to bear down with I think a streak of 4 multi point games. He got it going early in the second period today, after it was 3-2 Pasta got the puck... to Bergeron or Marchand who was able to get it in the net, I also think on the Power Play. Then the very next face off the Bruins got it and given the stats McAvoy got it to him in space for a breakway and he buried the back hander to make it 5-3. Other general story line before I get to the 'fun' parts is the first 'perfection' line is finally getting going, Marchand even had the first hat trick for me on the season a game or two ago...and this game was no different as they contributed for 4 goals...which is actually a really small number given the final score but still quite important to consider. Marchand had 2 and Bergeron/ Pasta both had a goal apiece. Finally Carlo got a defensive goal pretty sure in the first period off the face off and just a heavy slap shot which got through to the net. All that goes into the third period, 8-3 Bruins, and this is when the insanity stated. Now before I made the comment to wife that they were really giving a lot of penalties to me and just making the game so easy for me especially since I was converting. Well similar to the game I played against Montreal not too long ago I spent virtually the entire half of the third period on the PK and the highlight of which Bergeron got a game misconduct on a hit...which is probably pretty ridicilious, so that was a ten minute major right there. So as the dust started to settle on this it got up to 8-7 as I continued to try and push, Debrusk picked up his nineth of the season for a short handed goal making it 9-7. They came back again for the PP and got their 8th to make it 9-8. Taylor Hall I think picked up the next goal and then...like in real life Trent Freddick buried the Empty net clincher, final score, 11-8. Ugh. What a game. AC Mirage
A rather unique bit happened today. Now you can do these quests in any order that you want so this could happen earlier but this is farily late game for me...and there was an area in this quest I was doing with automatic combat not permitted in this area things. Of course as per usual in this game you can really bump into a restricted area very easily, with guards, who see you, then you have to run. Another thing about this game is...given its advertised short nature I was operating somewhat on the assumption that the gear chests would be in story areas. So I haven't gone out of my way to hunt down gear chests because I want to avoid the Vietnam effect as much as possible. And for the most part this has really bared out and been the case as the gear is in the story areas and aside from that one area, I have pretty much been to every area once...only like a couple of other areas which have been maybes but not too horrible. But when this does not happen, because there are gear in the open world that aren't tied to the stories. And in my experience they are really complicated and hidden behind complicated puzzles. Ugh. Guilded Butterflies
This was the most unique assassination mission of the game and aside from what I mentioned about the weird no combat rules pretty much executed to perfection. ANd what was good about this mission to was just that it was different and unique from the other two set pieces in how it operated which were very similar. Get into area, figure out how to infiltrate area, kill target.
Basim did have to infiltrate an auction but the level of help and how the help was presented to you and the threat from the bad guy's was very different for the most part.
So had to go around and get clues and do more errands for Kong...he had me steal somebody's plate which he passed off as his own *rolleyes*. Had to follow around a bunch of rich women who put me onto the identity of the tressurer as Ning..a Chinese woman. Not sure how acurate this is per se but this is seemingly setting up the next arc for the games though I guess the next game may be set in Japan and not China. Still, a way of explaining why the Order is in the east.
Anyways a neat assassination followed where I got a personal meeting with her. I found it a very bad idea that Basim kept introducing himself as Basim, but got a meeting and she did indeed seem to be sus to us...but we were faster and put the hidden blade in her neck.
The Jinni made an appearance and its weird but also cool. Each assassination the Jinni seems to be getting more and more active. Just waking up, to crawling, to now actively running around and stalking Basim in the shadows. And he didn't mention it to Roshan this time saying it was 'gone.'
The thing that is unfortunate about this is that the Jinni/Loki and Basim still have not actually interacted. Sure do a different thing and I think this still fits Loki's parasitic nature compared to what Odin was trying to do with Eivor but, I guess much like with Corypheus in Dragon Age, its just unfortunate not seeing the two interact and sort of give into corruption and madness...because Odin wasn't trying to take over but persuade Eivor and give him/her options for whether or not they were going to give into Odin's corruption. Here Basim is not getting any choice, which not an RPG, and as I said general take over. But Loki is getting stronger when Basim is doing things he should be doing in the first place. Killing the Order. Its an, imo, bit of an odd narrative choice.

Hey Dani climbed a really fucking big hill. That's quite the pose in photo mode. Always need to experiment with those more. Granted always more difficult I guess when the character isn't custom. It doesn't matter so much to me if the character is custom or not, but how many other options it gives (like poses, expressions etc). Horizon Zero Dawn had a good number of options there. One thing FC6's photo mode has that I haven't seen anywhere else myself (not saying no other games have it, just that I haven't seen it) is the Live mode. So this image was taken in Studio mode, which is a standard photo mode. Live mode disables a number of options, but adds Emotes and keeps the world animating (wind blowing, animals moving around etc). The emotes are pretty cool, if one likes making gifs. <--- the colour was from Giphy, not the game. And there are a bunch more, as well.

The Talos Principle 2Been a busy week, so this is my first chance to get back at it. I like to use the photo mode cam as a kind of personal drone to scout out the area for hidden things and around places I can't see in the puzzles. Whether that's a clever move or a cheap one... I leave to you. I also finished the "Convolution" puzzle. It took a while, but I took a pic at the turning point...

I'm just less encouraged to take pics of characters in general who I can't make. Though AC Odyssey was an exception. I took a lot of photos with MEs and I imagine I'll take loads with Dreadwolf if we get one.

I leave to you. Cheap? How dare you, sir? That is just very Big Brain energy. I do it ALL the time with damn near every game that has one...

I may have used Photo Mode a few times in some games in stealth or combat to look around corners.
