Today I learned that starting a NG+ in a game you haven't played in like 2 years where you're character is maxed is not a good idea. I don't remember how to play this! That was my 10 minutes into Horizon Zero Dawn this morning. I wish games gave you the option of playing the tutorial/prologue again on new game plus. Ghost of Tsushima is the same way. A few years back I was reading Vagabond, for a brief moment the main character was wearing a straw hat. My brain after registering a cool looking straw hat. . . Must play Ghost of Tsushima. It was the same deal, were you just get dumped in post prologue. I'm like, what is going on? Where am I? Haha. I suppose I could've dropped the game into easy, so I could figure things out, instead I just ran around for my life for a bit, and then quit. Sometime I'll start a new playthrough, if I recall GoT is pretty bad for gatekeeping basic abilities for the first few hours, so not looking forward to that. Anyway, I finished a new game! That game being, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. I enjoyed it quite a bit, my only real knock on it would be some of the levels/areas being too large, I felt certain areas overstayed their welcome by the end. I struggled with the final two major duels, I ended up dropped the difficulty all the way down to story mode for those, which I gotta say was pretty damn cathartic. Haha. Die suckers! I had recently watched a humorous video about how the Separatists are not a real organization. The part that most stuck with me is when discussing the Separatists combat forces the joke is made that the B1 droid was seemingly programmed for comic relief purposes. I wasn't expecting Separatists droids in Survivor, they're pretty damn funny, especially the B1's. And on top of that, the whole time I was thinking, what mad lad creating these droids. LOL. I don't know if this is a bug, or the B1 was meant to be patrolling backwards. Haha. Bumps into Jedi, "Is someone there?" I rather enjoyed Cal's give into the dark side moment on the Empire base. One Stormtrooper shouts, "He's gone berserk!" Character customization was a nice addition. Mullets for everybody. Horseshoe mustaches for some. I came across an amusing Walle-e looking robot. Initially I left it alone, but eventually I got curious enough to kill it. It drops a collectable currency as loot. I felt bad for killing Wall-e all the time, but, I need loot! I blame the cruel devs.

Call of the SeaI was in the mood for a lighter game, so I thought I'd give (the highly rated) Call of the Sea a try. Feels like an exploration/puzzle game. Picked this one up for free during an Epic Store Sale. So far, I just dipped a toe in here, but I like the simple art style, punchy palette, and (if I'm not mistaken) some Lovecratian overtones...

Scars Above
This is a shooter game, set in space. Premise; a science team is dispatched to investigate a strange object that has appeared in orbit.
Story wise, it seems predictable. There is voice acting which is good but the lip sync is off. Conversational animations are a bit stiff; as what can be expected of a dev team with a low budget. Graphics are good.
Game play; can be annoying. There are manual save points which will restore player health, ammo but doing so will restore the enemies killed. Reloading action is slow but this can be improved as player level up. Path is linear.
Enemies. Well, the weapons aren't that great. There's a fire weapon which is not a flamethrower but shoots fire bolts. The problem is that you have to charge it. So while you're charging and trying to aim, the large creature is bowling towards you and you have to shoot its underbelly and dodge its swipes. There's the electrical weapon which isn't so bad for the creature vulnerable to it.
Overall, it's a game for players with a lot of patience, do not mind wading through enemies they had already killed each time they do a manual save and love the difficulty of weapon charging, aiming at difficult places and dodging. Keep in mind that stamina is needed for dodging, running and will be depleted every time it's use.
This game reminds me of the Souls series in which stamina is drained every time the player strikes and dodges.

Persona 3 Reload It's here I've watched as little pre-release stuff as possible, so I'm constantly going "OOOOH" as I play. Especially when opening menu. They did great job emulating stylized menu of P5 while giving it it's own vibe. As for where I'm in playthrough - I just finished first proper full moon, tho I'm tempted to go back for Tartarus run. Not my fault they did such a good job with that place

Call of the SeaSo the premise of the game is that the protag's (Norah) husband went looking for a cure to Norah's mysterrrious illness (blotchy hands from what I can tell?) on an island 70-odd miles east of Tahiti, and went missing. So Norah goes looking for him (alone) and I'm just at the point where I've just solved the first real puzzle of the game and finished Chapter 1. It actually managed to trip me up for a bit as I was expecting to find a "key" solving it, but it turns out that it just needed a "sea-to-sky" solution. I really need to re-gear my brain after the Talos Principle... So as you explore, you uncover the meaning of these simple Polynesian symbols, then use them in the puzzle. Nice little transition from Ch.1 to Ch.2, including colour palette shift.

SWTORI started Corellia on my Jedi Knight, still on the first map, but I reached level 75 which means I could switch to ilevel 318 gear and use a tactical. My health went from 13k to 21k. I kill things way faster too. I have like one fellow Jedi to save so we can start attacking the Empire. I'm the Jedi Commander afterall.

DO NOT BUY this title. I bought it because I want something new shooty to play and I saw it looked ok from the gameplay.
The tutorials cannot be bypassed. You are forced into it and if you reloaded, made the item and want to bypass the tutorial because you have been through it, there's no bypassing.
What's worse it that the devs also sealed the area until you have gone through the tutorial.
I'm stuck because I''m at the flame grenades and have to throw them at spiders on a platform. I can throw a 100 and it won't have any effect on the one or two spiders skittering around at the back. I tried to exit and discovered the devs did not put in an exit point. I decided to ignore the flame grenades and move on, then found the devs sealed off the area until the tutorial is done.
Horrible programming and game design. Couple that with the Make A Save Point and you Recall back all the Mobs feature.
My rating for it; 4/10.

Knight of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Completed all quests on the Citadel Station. Settled the problem between the Ithorians and the Czerka corporation. Solved the quest involving a black market selling illegal weapons. Completed two out of the three bounties given by Lt. Dol Grenn. For aiding them the Ithorian gave my Exile Meetra access to a shuttle that will take me to a restoration zone on Telos' surface.

Eva's daughter is giving me a headache and annoyance. The game is too.
Eslonza II has already a bastard daughter. Now she has another one. Eva caught a man who turned out to be the Mayor of a country trying to climb into Eslonza's room. He was imprisoned. There was contemplation of having him executed but it was not carried out.
Then the southern part of the empire became embroiled in some internal conflict between a duke and counts. I was puzzled at the number of vassals who did not belong to the duke sending troops to help him in his quarrel. I looked further into it and found he was holding a few counties that did not belong to him; they were not part of his duchy. Then there were the vassals who's supposed to look to their liege aiding him.
It did not bode well. Eva revoked his title. He wasn't having it so civil war broke out. I was busy despatching troops to nail down his allies, whack his city and sending an army to chase down the duke's army.
Meanwhile the game suddenly spew a bunch of events that's very annoying. I noticed this always happen when I initiate conflicts. An avalanche of events that keep popping up in a matter of days whereas if nothing was happening, not many events would occur.
In the midst of the chase, a message pop up. A servant spotted a Mayor leaving Eslonza's room. Oh freaking hell!!! I checked her in the next few seconds; she's pregnant. Bloody h*ll!!! The mayor was imprisoned and executed. He was caught red handed leaving her room, a place he had no right to. I didn't care for the message that his family and so and so people would lose their regards. Really? I'm supposed to condone what he did?
The first mayor that tried to enter her room through the window died in prison not long after the civil war came to an end. The duke was imprisoned. He's a sly one. Trying to gobble and control as much land as he could.

Saints Row
Weirdness followed today. Did a mission called 'Art Appreciation' today. And well Neena wanted us to go around and now that we have money...buy art pieces she was interested in. Well turns out none of the people were that interested in selling it. First one hated it but got it in the divorce from her husband so was fine with keeping it for spite and rememberance, second one wanted to keep it because they used the thing to hang up their bathing suits, third one sorority prank and I think Neena hung up on her.
Thing is driving around with all of these things my character decided we steal them. Which we had to do by connecting a tow cable to them and then drive them to the church. Thing is we were making noise. Should've been obvious since we just called the people. And the police ended up getting involved like for the laundry clean up venture. Somehow they were a lot more annoying despite having no time restraints. In the end I decided that it was good to blow them all up though instead of just walking into said pursuits. This actually worked.
Most interestingly enough the quest popped in the end for the achievement 'do all loyalty missions' Interesting turn of phrase but this seems to be another indication I am getting close to the end of the game. Which again seems a little fast.

Eslonza bore her third bastard, a son. I give up. The only thing to be done is to kick all three out of the line of succession. There's no controlling her since Eva is still alive. Talking about Eva, she ages gracefully. Totally different from the other two queens.

After that whether it's toad yor tomorrow that I finish it'll be back to the ME trilogy for my first run of that for this year. I did rty m yFifa experiments bu tthe ynever worked but I will still go back to my career modes and women's league saves and continue them once I'm finished with the trilogy. Mainly because I'm still kind of in the mood for continuing those.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Call of the SeaSo far, so good. Completed Ch.2 last night and just getting into Ch.3 today. Definitely more things to investigate now. Lots of notes to read, objects to pick and scrutinize, and so on. But because the icon for interactable objects is so small, you have to be careful picking over areas or you could easily miss something. So I tend to do a fair bit of backtracking, just in case... Each of the puzzles so far has been different. Rotating icon puzzles, reassembling a torn piece of paper, operating technical equipment, fine-tuning puzzles, pathing puzzles, etc. Nothing really hard, but some will require more experimentation than others. I noticed when I do backtrack, some things will actually change. Things you would miss if just pushed forward. For example, you discover your boat is missing in Ch.1 if you go back to the beach. In Ch. 2 the devs left a little Easter Egg if you go back to the huts you explored at the beginning of the chapter... Needless to say, I'm gonna backtrack every chapter now... And those subtle Lovecratian references at the beginning of the game? Those are... less subtle now.
