And those subtle Lovecratian references at the beginning of the game? Those are... less subtle now. Something smells fishy in here...

Saints Row
More Venture stuff dominated the conversation today. More weird venture stuff.
Started off OK. Got two rounds of the new 'Mayhem' done for the Big One venture. First one was jsut uber fun driving around a tank through the streets of Santo Illeso causing panic and...well mayhem...as I went. Second one was a VTOL craft and they somehow managed to make a VTOL at least somewhat boring. Took me a hot minute to figure out the controls so I did not get it on the first go but the second one I did. Kind of crazy, as wifey also attested to, that no building destruction despite this very real fire power. And also does still seem weird at how slow the monetary value increases but...
Insurance Fraud.. Took me four times to get it which was pushing things but on the second and third attempt I came like 3.8 million out of four close. Plus I was starting to get some tactics in. Instead of just trying to aim so much I just let gravity do the trick. At least when I had the clusters.
The weirdness came from first the new Venture is the oddest setup yet, unless I am missing something. But every other one of them is fairly easy. You either start a mission which loads a special circumstance, or what you do for it is already provided for you so you can...hmmm maybe I should read the missions. But either way I wasn't able to figure it out. Seems I have to tow something to the repo yard I guess...but there was nothing with two capability anywhere close.
And the base jump for the tower thing is just also odd. Having a real hard time timing it. Heh.

CK3 Eva passed at a grand old age of 74. Of the three Queens, she lived the longest and aged the most gracefully. I've played many PTs on CK3 and she's the first Queen to, well, age so graciously. *envious* I was very sorry to see her go. I had a lot of fun with her reign. Her daughter, Eslonza II, has a total of *drum roll* nine kids. The last are twins. The four oldest are bastards, the last five are legitimate. Her five legit kids are a big problem because the empire will be divided upon her death. There are three legit daughters of which one will be the heir. This will be decided later as I had initiated the law change for high crown authority from the start, during Urraca's reign. This change takes over 200 years. High crown authority means the ruler will decide on the heir, not a bunch of nobles. Sure, the other four kids will be vassals under the heir but maintaining control over them is going to be a huge problem. The reason why I prefer females to inherit the throne and that they marry at age 35. To better limit the kids they throw but Eslonza II threw that control awry. Males are irritating and neigh on hard to limit them because they can sleep with whomever they like and spawn many kids. There are always old dodgers in their 60s marrying teenage brides too. And there are ambitious young men trying to gun for power and influence. Eva was age 72 when one young guy tried a seduction scheme on her. I chose the crankiest waspish respond when he tried to talk his way into her room. The most comedic message I ever saw was a marriage between a young guy of 16 and a countress of 62. The two were described as ünable to keep their hands off each other" at the wedding banquet. I 🤣 when I read that and then went eeeewwwww.

SWTOR
First map done on Corellia. I did all the side quests but the heroics, so it took quite a bit of time (especially when I'm just playing 30m-1 hour of this per day). Now my JK moved on the second stage of defeating the Empire on the planet. Also, level 76, only 4 left until I need to make myself some level 80 gear.
HZD
Revenge of the Nora done, take that evil cultists. I'm not totally in the mood to play this even if I don't hate the game, so it's going to be slooow going until the sequel release I suspect.

Call of the SeaThere's definitely a change in tone going into Ch.3. It had been pretty light up to that point, but the Lovecraftian themes are... starting to seep in now. Hadn't run across anyone, and was pretty sure I wasn't going to now, but as you go along you continue to pick up notes and logs from the expedition. People losing their sanity - check. Mysterious substances - check. Strange technology - check. Giant kaiju nom-nomming on ships - check. The main "organ" puzzle of the chapter was one of the more challenging ones. Overall, I'd say it wasn't too hard, but it involved a fair number of steps. Here you had to solve some smaller puzzles across several locations first, reference a number of different notes, then some backtracking, translating runes, then adjusting those based on the tides and the moon... You get the idea. I also found another Easter Egg here. This one may have been... a little on the nose.

Still engaging in some Star Trek: Online. *** A weekend or two ago was a doubleXP event, so I let my restartitis flare up and swapped from my lvl 10 Science officer to a fresh Starfleet Engineer. He's now my main and is level 41 currently. Turns out that was a good idea because I learned there is another event going on that I can do to get a higher level ship. Easy dailies but requires two characters and 20 days. Just made cutoff by a few days too. Involves a bit of running around cleaning up Q's messes by doing three mini-games. Handy for a fresh account I suppose. Nice that I can accomplish it with new PCs though.
*** New main is a human male, Captain "Scev", full name Dis Scevity. He's named for being unlucky but my luck has been pretty solid so far. Tried the Dabo wheel at DS9, first time I won 55 bars of gold-pressed latinum. Second time I won 555 bars. Haven't had the balls to touch it since as I suspect my beginners luck was dried out in that 55-555 combo. Fun way to start a gambling addiction!
Between the XP weekend and me just not screwing around I leveled Scev past 10 in about a tenth of the time it took me to level the Science Officer. Customized my Miranda a bit but didn't have her for too long. Every ten levels (mostly) you get a free new ship. I love dark ships in space, gives em that Tron look, anything that lights up gets contrasted beautifully. This is the theme going forward FYI... Also there's a massive picture dump so I'm just going to spoiler the whole damn thing...
This is the Miranda. *** Next I had the choice between an escort which is a lighter more DPS focused craft or the Constitution-Refit. I went with the Connie. Slower style of combat, more tanky, so I leaned into that. Instead of button mashing in the Miranda I acted more like a mobile turret. Once I was in range of the enemy I'd stop, start firing everything I had, and keep my forward shields towards them constantly powered up. Worked fairly well but not entirely ideal.
*** Then I got the Constellation class heavy cruiser. Used it mostly the same as the Connie but started to play around with a faster pace and some cannons. Before I'd been using beams with a very wide firing arc, cannons have a smaller arc requiring a bit better piloting. 8 Bussard Collectors seems indulgent but I didn't make it. PS: This is when the Remans turned my ship green and I couldn't figure out how to undo it. (Turns out it was a vanity shield but at least I made some people in Zone chat laugh.) *** Next up, I had a tough choice. Galaxy class cruiser and stick with a tanky ship, or a Defiant class. This is the U.S.S. Celeres. Naturally I couldn't say no to the Defiant no matter how much I like the 1701-D. So I eschewed the tanky playstyle and started riding the enemy tailpipes and learning how to pilot a bit better. (The hard way.) Took a break to park alongside the real deal.
*** Now I'm in a new class of ship called a "Patrol Escort." Same rough type as the Defiant, more DPS than tank. This is a heavily customized version of a Gryphon class escort I did up last night. She's very fast but I haven't had a chance to put her through her paces just yet. She has a pretty funky profile but I'm in love with my weird creation. The U.S.S. Derecho. ***
Finally, I've had some fun on the ground too.
This lil turret I set up ahead of time one-shot the suspicious looking Scorpion ship I couldn't target before I even saw what was happening. Damned things spawned right after a conversation and the turret blew the ship up which then took out the offloading guards. Good turret. Met someone who'd get along with Chief O'Brien. Damn cardies.
Oh, I taught my pet Horta how to sit in a chair with me at Quark's. Good times. (The Andorian is super chill.)
You might recognize someone who never shuts up...
Turns out the dailies aren't all bad...

Scars Above So two kind people threw some suggestions. I had already done what they suggested; I shot everything I could think of with the fire gun. So the last thing to do before I threw the game over (since I spent $$ on it), I ran a verification files, then tried again. It went off this time. So I'm on my way to finishing this game.

I've beeen playing Persona 3 Reload... a lot. I just can't put it down. Returning music still slaps and new tracks are great. They did amazing job with Tartarus, to the point where I don't feel like leaving it. There's also a lot of new story stuff, combat abilities, activities, interactions... That includes Elizabeth getting even more hilarious. And we get to pet best boy Koromaru! That alone makes it 10/10 game.

SWTOR
My JK is now in Axial park on Corellia, unfortunately the Imp side has the funny quests on that map, the Republic are a bit boring. Before getting here, my JK stopped the Imps from creating a big chemical bomb and she "hired" a war droid constructor by hitting his best robots very hard and kill all his Imperial security.

Call of the SeaChapter 4 was an interesting one. Had to take a bit of a... trip... just to get to the main puzzle. While not as involved as the "organ" puzzle in Ch.3, it still involved several steps to get all the information you needed to solve it. And it took me a couple of minutes just staring blankly at it before it "clicked". The most interesting part of this chapter was the unscheduled nap Nora takes after playing junior electrician... There were actually a few Easter Eggs in this chapter. Hmm. The Family Tree is a bit... sus. She's not... terrible, but... could use a little auto-tune. \ Yeah, a little on the nose with this one too.

NHL 22So I promised myself I would do this if I made it and I did make it so I am doing it. In my franchise made the playoffs with the Bruins and actually got in a fair few games over the last day or so. Right now my plan is to finish through the playoffs and the first season of the franchise so I can 'see Bergeron hoist the cup again'....unlike IRL...also get Pasta a cup, also may not happen. And we will see from there because since I have decided FC 6 is going to be on the gaming list soon don't have much of a need to continue for the forseable future and this little kick I've been on has been eating a lot of time. That being said I also might go back to it if I start playing ANdromeda after FC which is a distinct maybe...could end up being quite a year for BioWare games if things work out. *crosses fingers* Finishing the regular season and rapid fire highlights. -Forgot who I was playing which is honestly annoying...probably will come to me. But the big thing is I started off with...no it was during the same game which is the second game. -Anyways two short handed goals one from Jake Debrusk, first goal I have scored in this version of things from beyond center, just hit the goalie and went in. And the second Orlov and a breakaway. -Marchand after returning to the lineup from an injury didn't do much his first game but had a hat trick in game 2, giving him 49 goals on the year. Beat the Maple Leafs 8-3. -Bruins finished with a 78-3-1 record. That is at least much better then their record setting year (which will be next year in the franchise) IRL. -Pasta led the team in goals, points, and also led the league in Goals. 61 Goals, 28 assists, 89 points in all 82 games. -Pretty sure Marchand finished with 84 points despite three seperate troops to the injury list. -Had pretty sure like 6 forty goal scorers (Pasta, Marchand, Hall, Bergeron, Zacha, and Debrusk. -Eleven I am pretty sure with over 50 points. -McAvoy led the team with 60+ assists. Up to the playoffs and by some 'luck' ended up blowing through the first five games of the playoofs. Swept the Islanders in round 1 and moving onto the Panters in round 2. Round 1: -Kind of a case so far of veterans leading the way in both rounds...Bergeron right now is leading the team in points over all through the five games, 6 goals, 3 assists, nine points and has scored in all five games. -Krejci at least has eight points. -My goalies have fully gotten over their rough time and commited to the game, more or less. Each one of them had a shut out in round 1 and each of them have a save percenatage in the high .9s. -Game two was fun. The game did the glitch thing where it won't let you continue so my choices were to reboot or quit and let the game sim it out. Always risky but ended up being worth the risk as the computer gave me a 9-0 victory (Swayman's shutout). -Ulmark did give up 3 goals on 21 shots in the final game so not a great game but still quite nice overall. -Ended up outscoring them pretty sure, at least, 30-4. Series 2...just one game. -Bergeron continued opening it up with two quick goals. -Pasta hasn't had a 'quiet' playoffs exactly but like the regular season he has been quietly consistant compared to some of the others. But he had his first big game of the post season with a goal and 2 assists. Contributing on all three of my first goals which stayed that way until.. -Rymsdyk got the empty netter to put the game on ice...4-1 Bruins final score.

Scars Above
Finished the game. The story is ok. Typical. There is a resolution but the ending also leaves the question of; what's going to happen next?
The weapons became better near the end of course. The common mob fights are fine, even with the big ones because by then, Kate Ward the protag, had two outstanding grenades. One of which creates a bubble that slow down time, thereby slowing the mob caught in it. The other is to slow time totally while she can move at normal speed to another position.
These two grenades / ability definitely help a lot with the later boss fights.
The path is totally linear so there isn't any way to feel lost which is a good thing because there's no map to refer to. As I mentioned, the VAs are good though lip sync and animations are off and stiff at times but overall it doesn't detract the game experience.
Glitch aside, I raise my rating of this game to 7/10. A plain Souls like shooter at times with a good story.

Ran into a bug with Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. Until I figure it out I won't play it. I was going to replay the Mass Effect Trilogy, but I decided to start with a game I never finished and that game is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Now I have to decide what race to choose and class. Let's see if I can finish it something about the game turns me off.

Don't know how far you've gotten last time, but just in case my advices are: Leave the Hinterlands early, you don't need every single elf root and you don't need to 100% all areas. For me most of the charm was in the main quests and companion story lines. Side quests always felt kinda multiplayerish without the people, and while I don't mind that personally I do think it takes away from the game.

CK3 I know why I had such a fun time with Queen Eva of Hispania. It struck me as I was looking at Eslonza II's kids. It was their expressions. Eva was beautiful and always had a cheerful expression on her face. Eslonza II has a smiling countenance. Her first four kids look a little glum. I can guess why they look that way; Eva immediately kicked them from the succession the moment they were born. Her last five kids look happy. I'm going to see if the expressions change when I have decided on the heir and disinherit the other four. The heir can restore inheritance but I'll only do it once she has the empire in hand in order to have better control over the division. The four, actually, the other two daughters will inherit kingdoms. The sons, well, they can remain at court and take up court positions. If or rather when they create trouble, at least they are close by so action can be taken. No action can be taken if they're in other countries.

I never finished and that game is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Yeah you jus tneed t od oenough reall yt oge tenough power points to progress. Doing too much in one area can easily burn you out. I may d osom emore of my run alon gwit h some of m yFifa careers. Plan on doing a run of all 3 games later in the year in preparation of Dreadwolf. Probably over the summer after I finis hm ycurren tDAI run though assuming I don' tabandon it to save time. Going to finish my ME trilogy run first. I'm about half way through ME1 atm at least in terms of the main story as I managed to do Feros and pick up Liara. Today it'll mostly be side quests and the Bring down the Sky DLC as I usually do mostof the side quests either side of Noveria but before doing Virmire and Ilos and all that on a norma lplaythrough. I know you can shake things up and do things in a different order I just planned this to be a more normal run of the games in that I'll be approaching the series my usual way. I am lookin gforward t oplayin my favourite quests in the games again though. Mus tadmit though it's been fun hangin garoun dwit hthe trilog ycharacters again so far and that's dspite the Mako being as tough as ever to get it where you want it to go.

Curious Crow and sjsharp2010 I will follow your advices. I am a completist by heart and what killed the game for me was all of the sidequests. I have to approach the game like I do Skyrim just do the side quests I that seem interesting. You both should see how long it took me to finish The Witcher 3 completing all of the misc quests. But I am focused and determined to play DAI. It is the only Dragon Age game I never finished. I am using three mods one is to increase banter between the companions, the other zooms in the camera when speaking to npc's, and the last removes the waiting time at the War Table. Oh and Curious Crow the last and first time I played I made it as far as completing the romance with Cassandra and having to choose a prestige class. I spent 10 hours in the hinterlands exploring and doing quests.

YeahDAI ca nbe overwhelmng i fyo urty t od oabsolutel yeverything I thin k that' swhy jus td oas much a syou need don' tworr yabout doin geverything as you'll neve rfinis hbecause as soon as yo ucomplete a collectathon fotr a campsite the ypracticall ygiv eyou anothe rone to do. So i ' sgeneralluy bes tto jus td owha tyo uneed. I didn't mind it quie ts omuch when I firs tplayed but now tha tI have a lo tof games in this genre tha tIlik eplayin glike Hogwarts Midnigh tSuns an dal tha tI'm havin t oreign i tin a bit and no tworry abou tdoin gs omuch. Only throw in a completionis trun of a game like tha twhen things aer quiet. I am planning on makin gm ytrilogy run a bit moe rcompletionist in style as I will be doing most of the side quests/DLC's but to be fair the trilogy isn' t that long and I've probably got enough tim eto do 2 runs of the trilogy if I really wanted to befoer Forbidden West drops if I did them back to back. I dohav emoer than one Shep in mind as I have 3 in mind I want to play but I'm onl yfocusin gon one right now as I want to save some time for some Fifa before FW comes out. I may play a second on eeither after I've played Forbidden Wes to rhad another go at Borderlands or something. But I'm jus tfocusin gon m yEngineer Shep for now.

Yeah "Get out of The Hinterlands" became a saying, do what you have to their as there are things you cannot complete till later on anyway but be careful about avoiding side quests in other areas. Some give you items you need to complete quests differently and or better equipment or access to a vendor etc. Wow you made it as far as romancing Cassandra and picking a prestige class and stopped, you were not too far off finishing in terms of the hours you must have already put in. Are you Modding it? Wow been so long I cannot even remember if you can? Yes you can. Pretty sure I used a fair few that helped in various ways the one I mainly remember is the one that speeds up The War Table missions.
