FW Burning Shores On second thought, given the hobby of the other old friend, being the end boss of the melee pits would be more logical than being the boss of the races. The vistas for the DLC is to fly the mount along radio signals. I did one and decided not to do another because Aloy has to follow the path closely. So if said path swoop pass machines and she's spotted, a fight breaks out. This means the signal path is lost and you have to go back to the starting point and re-acquire it. I finished the figurines and completed the end quest. The reward is a transmission. And an achievement. I'm done with Burning Shores. I'll do the melee pits next to see if I'm right. If I am, then after the melee pits, FW is done for me.

FW
I went to look it up and it's the Gauntlet Races, not the melee pits. I did all the races. There is no timer. The point is to keep the other riders from passing. Shooting them with ice arrows or melee them them as they come close to knock them off their mounts.
I'd suggest story mode racing since to keep the riders back, you have to shoot backwards so you're not directing your mount. Having it auto follow the road would do the trick except that I'm using mouse and it directs the mount too. So I shoot on straight paths and when it curves, I'll look back now and then to see if any riders are coming close.
The old friend is the top rider of the Gauntlet races so he'll only do the last race. Aloy doesn't offer him a focus so he's not part of the group.
I'm not doing the melee pits so my PT of FW ends here. There'll be a NG+ but it'll likely be later in the year.

NHL 22
Bit of pre game storylines before I started playing, well previous playsession Pasta had a little bit of a point streak going for me and Charlie McAvoy got a bit banged up in a fight so I'm having to rely on my ovr 74 rated Parker Wortherspoon in his depth role whom I really like but was a significant downgrade from what I had. So in other words some nerves.
Up first against the Arizona Coyotes and they had their backup goalie Tarisov in even though I think the last time I killed their primary goalie quite severely but ended up winning 9-2. Seguin, Krecji, and Pasta all had two goals apiece for me. First period scoring was fun though since Seguin and Marchand got me on the board. Marchand scored off a backhander that it was just kind of insane that it got through their goalie in the first place because it was such a weird shot but he took a slight feed from Pastranak, skated right into the middle of the crease and flipped it home. Bit of a theme for the goalie on the night though since he was even caught out of position multiple times. Seguin scored on a breakway. Second period got four goals but they were very on brand nothing too noteworthy. Third period got a little while because one of their players hit Taylor Hall just after he scored his 44th, but the hit the announcers said caused him a bit of an injury. So this pissed me off as it does on Pro and I vowed vengence, won the immediete fight which resulted as Carlo just steamolled his man so nice sticking up. ROlled the third line out there trying to get Seguin his hat trick...but then nothing happened. They even scored which pissed me right off even further. But then the first line rolled out there and Pastranak got the next goal seconds later. Then on the very next sequence he ripped the puck out of a Coyote grasp near my blue line and rushed it up the ice all alone, he bured a backhander for his 44th and I believe the last goal of the game. SO imagine my slight chargine when it rolled over to the 2nd line that Taylor Hall was back on the ice. Though the only other nice thing is at some point Wortherspoon had a similar play to Pasta which resulted in a breakway of his own but the Coyote goalie held firm. Starting to like his speed. Pasta ended up with 4 points after a game with 3 points and a game with 2. Other notable thing I did I actually got off a one timer. Lindholm didn't score on it but the puck worked back to the point and he fired it on net. Now if I can do that deliberatley and figure it out. Might be a good way of getting me up to the next difficulty.
Next game against the Pens was a bit more of a grind. 6-2...but only 3-2 going into the third period. Seguin picked up another goal which now gives him 6 goals in 6 games for the Bruins. Pasta didn't score and inded my entire first line laid a huge goose egg and think even my second line as well...other then Seguin because I almost forgot the story of Taylor Hall continued since he had a mild injury, the game would let him play but I don't like anyone playing hurt and there is literally no need for it at this point. So more changing of the lines around...etc. Notable goals for the second game Lindholm fired it but it bounced off a Penguin, Van Riemsdyk was able to get it, twist around, and fire it home. Also Wortherspoon picked up his first on a nice litlte breakaway. Though it was fun too first goal of the game was weird their goalie was just all over the place and had a terrific game, at least early, but first goal of the game for Gryzlick's 13th was just plain pathetic, hit him and then like 2 seconds later trickled into the net.

I went and made a baby Necro Asura who dual wield swords and it's been quite fun. I think the Char sword animation just aren't that great. Necro Asura have awesome animations with the swords.

DD2 I had already premade the MC. Two of them. A woman and a man. I decided to have the guy go first but I forgot to make the main pawn for him so I spent a few quick minutes. I 🤣 when I saw Rook. You again? But then, it makes sense because Pawns can't die and they're not fix to one world. The opening is well typical but nicely done. image So this is the guy I made. I didn't do very much with his face but I did fiddle around with his anatomy.

Forbidden West
Found the way into the Faro base to get what I needed. Met another explorer, one who didn't shoot, and together the two of them worked their way to the goal. Yay, now I can beat up metal flowers to get to the nasty surprises waiting behind those vines.
Next stop was the Cauldron to the north, with the entrance underwater. I imagine you can't do this one without having the breathing apparatus? Got to play with more crates. This one, despite it being hard to see underwater, was pretty easy to navigate and didn't take too long.
Now I'm planning to clear the southern part of the map section, but it will take a while to work my way down.
Say hello to Sparky

DD2 Shucks. I'm already wearied by the first SQ which is to gather some plants. One of the pawns keep making healing potions and I have no idea how to stop him. Assessing the inventory is a bit clunky, hitting two keys instead of one key which immediately brings up what you want like other games. I can't even read the quest letter! So I'm going about blind because one of the pawns said he knows where the items are and started gathering them. Unfortunately I have no idea what's needed. Turns out I have to turn in two healing potions and three tubers. I'm missing one tuber. I'm walking everywhere trying to see what glows. It's harder to see in this game. When I try to turn in some of the items, the dang hand in is confusing so I'm clicking at random having no idea what I'm doing. I have two tubers but the quest persist in saying to hand in. When I tried, I don't see the tubers listed in the hand in menu but I see them in the inventory. The mechanics of this game is irritating.

DD2
So I ran around and one of the pawns picked up a tuber. Went to the NPC and tried to figure out the hand in again. Turns out there's a prepared list on top of the hand in and clicking the items in the small quest inventory below put them in the list for the hand in. I did that initially but the tuber refused to go in so I figure the requisite number must be in the quest item inventory for it to work.
The MC doesn't say anything at all most of the time. He has no voice. The other party just carry on as though he made some replies. The only time I have to choose a respond is to accept quests. Quest NPCs will stop the MC is he passes them though there'll be exclamation marks on the map to show SQs.

GW2My little Asura Necro is now level 41. Base Necromancer used to be ultra boring to level up the normal way that I actually made sure to always have enough tomes to bypass the entire process, but swords are fun. Dual Swords also fix Necro mobility. In fact, it's a mid-range weapon with great mobility, great group cleave and self-healing (but some skills cost health which means you need to be careful when under pressure) and I feel it deals more damage than Axe and Axe is single target. It's so getting nerfed like everything I like in the game. DD2 Quest NPCs will stop the MC is he passes them though there'll be exclamation marks on the map to show SQs. Later in the game, there are no exclamation marks for a lots of side quest (or even main quests) and NPCs don't necessarily try to talk to you to give you their quest.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Crappy day got off to a crappy start.
Hmm just starting to get cogniscant as we are kind of wrapping up I guess, I mean haven't gotten one of the big buchons for the particular branch to even get to Sueno but thinking we are starting to get a little bit more towards wrapping it up so getting cogniscant of some missions which means wanting to practice some of the stuff I mentioned from the last time with the long range sniping.
And for the first little area didn't go too well. They heard me when shooting the alarm and kind of occured to me later since it worked a bit more later on but didn't go too well the first time. Resulted in a bit of a firefight with multiple reinforcement runs coming in but then we did get through it. A lot of tonights play session was kind of seperated from one another.
After that got much more into a bit of a even flow from there. Actually one of the better missions we've run on killing El Gato part 1 just worked into the area with the guy, killed it from overwatch, then I stayed up there while wifey cleared and got to him for the picture ID. She got it after clearing and we killed two people in a gun tower across from him. Then we killed a guard on a way to extracting via a helo, only killed who we need to.
The mission to kill El Gato the actual guy got again a little interesting. I don't know exactly who killed who or got exposed, I might have missed a shot or someone just saw us but brief firefight and just worked through.
Next up and pretty much the final mission on the night decided to go down to Montoyouc. Am so tempted to do Koani but *that mission* is there and again kind of running into some interesting conundrums trying to level my stealth abilities to maybe make an attempt at it. WE'll see. But off to Montyouc and the mortar shells. Much better usage of non suppressed long distance rounds as I was actually able to take out an alarm, the enemy reacted at first but then calmed down. Then on a sniper run I did miss the shot barely but then wifey backed me up. I was then able to get a bit more in the groove. A few misses and in the middle of taking fire so wasn't able to try dialing in, but getting some confidence going as I supported wifey a little bit on a run. Even healed her once, then started landing 300+ meter shots here and there. So just building confidennce for the El Cardinale mission.

Home sweet home. We finally managed to construct a living location so that we can jump start a base. I truly think the experiences from the last game helped us greatly in making this place but, I could have planned a wee bit better:

Dragon Dogma 2 Early game spoilers because Early game is where I'll stay. Deleted my character and started a new run the day before yesterday. Felt she looked absolutely flawless that night but now she looks like a corpse. A pretty corpse but still. This time a warrior. I like the face tanking. And Pawn was a snarky archer man. The backtalk was amazing. Did have a blast with her. Was planning to just live near Melve, then went Lizard hunting and that cave is like a subterrain network or something. Found a lich or something and was going to do a strategic "Run away" but my pawns lied to me that "We're almost winning". Freaking bull he had three more health bars. We valiantly whittled them down to the last one, think like 1/8 left but alas he was quicker on the draw and killed us. Bony tit. Then got killed by a group of three Saurians because I can't pull off the shield defence of face tanking so asked Rook to lead us out of this mess and he did, but the exit was on the other side of the closed gate. I think Gregor gave up on me and went off on his own? Figure it was more due to area triggers rather than a timer, but it doesn't change that the FOMO was killing me. I just want to enjoy my foraging simulator but plot is getting in the way. So will probably end up just restarting because I like Gregor. Could just follow him to the city, then just walk back to Melve and just stay there right? Except he's probably going to be sent to the Dullahan or what ever the heck he was sent to in my last run. I don't know what or where or why a Dullahan is and I don't know if it means he's dead or if I can go and help him or he'll just be in limbo until I hoof my way over. Did make it to the city though. Met an Ogre on the way and managed to face tank the first health bar, then slapped him into a lake with my shield and he drowned. Poor fuzzy fellow. I also met him on the earlier character who was a mage and that went way worse. Didn't have papers to enter the city so tried to sneak in through the slum but was arrested for burglary. Boo. Couldn't find Gregor anywhere and tossed my future adopted son under the bus so the next part came easy. That is I deleted the character and started a new one. ---- (I promise I'm having fun. The first chapter is always my favourite and I can spend more time with Justinn, which is not the whole life I want to spend with him but it's something (✿◡‿◡)). Again a Warrior because I still like face tanking. Made the Pawn a mage though and picked Calm voice nr 3, which I think is the voice Rook uses so he spent a lot of the session talking to himself. I miss the snark already. Wonder if I can change his voice later. Then did a lot of the same stuff I did with the character before. The harpies you save a guard from made a quick work of my extra pawn by yeeting him off a cliff. Was almost worried the guard had also fallen off but he'd just gone a bit up the road to look for us so that was a relief. Recruited another pawn and that one just vanished at some point and I just found out when I tried to switch them with an archer and there was nothing to switch. Whoops. Was a bit braver this time and fought the Cyclops in the upper area of the map and met two new characters. A granny and her child. Granny has gone up the Hill and now the kid is sneakily asking me to give her guns magic which her Granny and daddy just forbode her to touch. And like. I want to but also it sounds like a tragedy in making so... Left the lizard cave alone for now so Gregor would stay put. Did visit another cave called Secret of the Mountain. The secret is slime. Lot's of slime. And some sort of skeleton goblins? But there were like just 4 or something so it wasn't too bad. Getting really good at not poisoning the water supply when helping Melve with their Lizard problems. Even managed to keep it off my team as well . Why anyone would let me do this is a mystery. Team is now level 10, so figure we should be safe to take Gregor to the city. I know there is an oxcart mission that takes you back to Melve so I can probably just chill in the city for a while, then go back and then walk back to the city and then I should be beefyish enough to start exploring around the city. Or something. But it was really nice and chill and shield bashy.

GW2Only thing I played today despite wanting to do some Dragon's Dogma, but I got to level 80 on my new Necro and decked him out. Then I went to try him on the latest map. So much better than the character I used to unlock the weapons with... And now I can focus on the story. What I get out of this. is that you like face tanking.

DD2 Nothing much except the usual; go clear out this dungeon, go find that group of people, quests. Every time I see a beastren and start a dialogue to find out what they're selling or a quest NPC, I 🤣 because they're humans in cat make up. Nothing about them convince me they're a race of humanoid cats with a long history. They stick out like sore thumbs. It'd been better not to implement them at all if the devs cannot be bothered to build a convincing and unique cat race. Edit Thus far I've made three switch over of pawns and I ended up with three gals twice. My main pawn is a female wizard. The MC is a male fighter. The present group remarked that the master is weird. He makes careful search but charges into battle recklessly. 🤣 Well darn, how am I suppose to handle battles then?

Nah that's a screenshot Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona 5 Tactica in his finest wedding garb But I agree that's he's really adorable. The game is a treasure trove of cute avatar images. Loved the part with the wedding. My only gripe with it is that Akechi and Yoshizawa weren't an option

DD2 So the party was travelling along the road when one of the pawns said something I didn't quite catch but the camera zipped to a grove of trees. I went; what? The next second, an ogre came charging out, grabbed my main pawn and stomped off with her. From the way those hands held together, he's going to squeeze her to death. It doesn't matter if she dies because she'll be revived in the Rift but then, I'll have to run to the nearest Rift Stone to get her. Off the party charged after the ogre. I tried to climb but there was so much to-ing and fro-ing I could not tell if the MC was holding the leg or trying to climb. I gave it up and tried the usual whacking instead. The ogre dropped her not long after the party set upon him. I kept chopping at one of his legs and at the end, he fell to the ground so I had the MC jumped on his chest and continuously impaling him with the sword. Next monster meet was a cyclop. Well, I died a few times because the blubber would insist sitting on the MC. ugh. I finally went at him from the front and I didn't care whether I was hitting his jewels or not. I managed to get a climb on him, went up to his shoulder and impaled the joint between his neck and shoulder repeatedly until he went down. After that, the party ran into another couple of cyclops. The third monster was a griffin. Rather than stand out in the open, I ran into the trees to force it to land. By this time I got the hang of the climb and was able to leap up on its back once it landed. It's a tough beast but the party didn't kill it. The MC was still on it, striking away when it took off and flew. It didn't go far and fell. Unfortunately, it fell into the water which is a no no. Both griffin and MC died to the Brine. Still, scored some xps.

NHL 22Two more games up today and a bit more of a grind fest at least at times. Hockey is an odd sport in that you can pretty much just grind along for like 90% of the game and end up with some awkward scores. That was at least the story for the first game against the hated Maple Leafs. Ended up 6-3 but it was like a one or two goal game for the vast majority of the game. Seguin got the scoring started pretty sure for his 7th goal in 7 games with the Bruins. He is just plain on fire. Zacha got his 48th of the season and Taylor Hall got another goal on a breakaway into the right corner of the net just put it on it. So that made it 3-2 going into the third period and early on got it 4-2. Bergeron had the puck, skated right down the middle of it, put the puck on net, then it rebounded right to Pasta on the low slot as he put it right into the gaping net. Annoying Auston Mattews got his 50th of the year to make it 4-3. But I was planning and had some good luck to execute as I was able to put my first line out from there. So when they emptied their net again Bergeron got the puck to Pastranak again who put the puck in along the right side...5-3. Then just a few seconds later they got the puck so emptied the net, Pasta stole it and then raced in on the left to finish off I believe his 3rd Hat trick of the season to get to 47 on the season. Next up the Canadians and another wild matchup between the two teams. Ended up being 7-3 but a lot of interesting notes happened. Seguin actually got an assist on a goal from Coyle and Fredric got a weird goal against Price as it barely got through and he scrambled back and actually clipped through the net. Second period kept it on a bit but then there is where things got wild. Got a five minute major...forgot who ...then Karlson got a delay of game. And things just continued to go out from there, had like 6 penalties in a row. They converted on two of them. But the amazing thing about this is I got 3 short handed goals. Would've been 4-3 game without them. But Marchand, first time I ever did this with Marchand he got his first Short handed goal that I am pretty sure I got with him and he is so well known for this. 36 on the season for him as he also got shoved into the net and sort of collapsed. Then it was Zacha's turn as he buried it similar to Hall earlier. Then Pastranak, he is not on the PK often, but when he does, and he is doing something that he ha salso been doing a lot lately. Just got the puck in space and buried the breakway. The last two goals happened down five on three as well. Seguin also got his 8th goal.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

GW2
Lots more GW2 today. Completed some maps and reached the lvl 60 of the story (which is to say the stuff related to Claw island). My little Asura Reaper is a full fledged member of the Priory and recruited the Grawls to the cause before that.
I'm also sporting the title "Archeologist". You spend so much time in old places finding old stuff in the stories that I thought it fit. I might change it to something else later.
And while I was doing stuff around, I encountered a lots of Necro players. Like more than usual I think. None were using swords thought. They are missing out.

More gaming! GW2 againI finished the Claw Island part of the story on my little Necro. Next is the pack and then Orr and then the best story content but I'm not going to finish all that tonight. It will probably go to next weekend actually. Dragon's Dogma 2Took a bit of time to advance the storyline forward again. Lots of investigation and I'm going back to a village I've been to quite a bit lol. And I know there is like nothing there now. Doing random stuff out there was more fun than working for Brant so far. Not sure I want to be the Sovran of Vermund...
