Was looking at the Uplay store and I knew there had been a few Assassin's Creed games over the years I didn't know there were quite as many as there are. Did you get AC3 remastered as part of your purchase of Odyssey? Can't remember if you have to already have owned it. You get it if you bought the Season Pass for Odyssey.

There are several references that parody a lot of the game mechanics especially in AC3. As I said my son, probably only 12 or 13 at the time (is now 17) showed me that and I play it now on one of my play lists to just annoy him as much as anything.

officerdonnz uplay and steam are both having big sales on all of the AC games atm. You can get them ranging from $6 to $13 with the side scrollers being around $4. As I mentioned before my suggestion is to start at the beginning with Assassin's Creed with Altair. He's a great character with much character development and can start you on the path of the story/lore stuff, it's $6.80 and you can buy while on sale and DL later when you have room Enjoy them all, they're all good games
ETA: dazk I lmao at the video, how hilarious!

I thought of Odyssey when I read this weekend that Herodotus was vindicated recently. They found a shipwreck in the Nile and the type of ship matched one he described but before now there was no proof of it so it was written off as one of the things he made up. Now 2500 years later he was proven right.

I don't mind the violin but I can't stand the second vid; dislike the music. LOL you aren't meant to like the music its by a bunch of You Tubers called SMOSH, their main aim is to parody game stuff and all they are doing is making fun of elements of AC3 and AC games in general. Example, like the comment not sure how I can see out this big ass hood, the hiding in a haystack and "your mothers laundry", using your mum as a meat shield (soldiers as meat shields were one of my favourite tactics ), the having to stop pursuing the storyline to go hunting etc. Even the girls dancing in the clip are dressed like the groups of women you can hire to blend with.

Unfortunately, I can't ignore the music because what they're trying to parody is intermix with it. It's off putting, it's not catchy, nothing nice about it. It's irritating. I didn't bother to watch more than 30 seconds. I switched off completely.

Our video game protagonist crosses paths with some of the most well known people of this era, and all history, in Odyssey. I wonder how they’d feel if they could know that we still talk and write about them and their accomplishments 25 centuries later. Pretty awesome, that is.

"They got my hair wrong!", "I am not that fat!", "I never said this!", "They missed the most important thing of my life!". "Greece was never that clean". "They nailed the damn pigs, but not me!". Haha! That would definitely be the natural reaction. Maybe Aristophanes would write a scathing rebuke for the stage? I read, or have read, a lot of history, so I was pretty familiar with the basics of these guys before playing Odyssey. One thing I enjoy in these games, though, is seeing who was contemporaneous with whom. When I first attended Perikles’ symposium, I thought, “Wow. I guess all of these guys were contemporaneous peers.” Seeing them in the same room and “talking with them” was more pointed than estimated dates of birth and death that I’d read decades ago. AC games are always fun in that regard. They can’t be relied upon for accurate info, especially as the series has progressed. They do give a cool interpretation of an era, though, and bring to life interesting characterizations.
