I was a fan of Basim. Then I wasn't. Then I was kinda ....confused? about him. I will def be playing this game as it looks to be closer to the older style of combat/sneaking around stuff and focuses on the.....ASSASSINS again. Finally! I'll more than likely stay away from the other games that AC is making. Hopefully I'll get to live long enough for Bioware and CD Projekt Red to sate my RPG tastes After watching the latest trailer today I am turning around on Mirage, still not ready to pre-order it but...... Me I was also fan of Basim and then.. I was not but, playing him in the old style original setting? Count me in, I'm gonna get it for my birthday when it comes in later in fall. I'm most excited maybe about the city itself, as I read from somewhere this time its just one city but its big?

Did you know the price to purchase a standard edition of AC Mirage is 49.99? I'm not complaining. Just a bit surprised.

I'd consider it when it drops to 10-15 bucks. Got most of the AC games at that price range.

Kotaku @kotakuSources: Assassin's Creed publisher remaking Black Flag, the pirate one: bit.ly/3JD1NYuAccording to two sources familiar with the plans who asked not to be named because they were not authorized to discuss them, a remake of the 2013 cross-gen PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game is still in its earliest stages and will not be complete for at least a few years. A team at Ubisoft Singapore, one of the studios that has led development on the Assassin’s Creed franchise’s evolving ocean tech, will be heavily involved in helping to modernize the Caribbean-based sailing game. - Well, this should make dazk happy.

Access The Animus @accesstheanimusIt looks like a few months ago the Business Development and Brand Partnership teams at Ubisoft were looking for sponsorship partners for #AssassinsCreed Codename Red in 2024, which could act as a partial confirmation of the game actually being planned for 2024 at the moment!

"Hexe" literally means "witch" in German. An 8 pointed star might possibly refer to the 8 major Wiccan sabbats within a year.
However the gloomy landscape doesn't give me the "kill all the order people" vibes.
How witches and assassins might be connected is anyone's guess...

What the hell does a "strong feminine energy "in MANY ways"" mean? Last two AC games had strong feminine female protagonists, I honestly have no idea what they are therefore aiming at.

Well on that front, maybe solely a female protagonist in a main game. All others either were for a mobile game, had a male protagonist as a partner, or could be replaced with a male version.

How witches and assassins might be connected is anyone's guess... Then again, same thing could said about pirates, Vikings, and street gangs yet there they are. To me the problem was with Odyssey and Valhalla for with Black Flag and Syndicate the protagonists were still part of the Order, they just had non-Assassin's with them. With Odyssey you had a Spartan Warrior and Valhalla a Viking Raider both having dumb reasons they needed to follow the rules of the Order even though they weren't members and in some situations the order was counter to what they did in reality. I got a lot of warnings in Valhalla about harming civilians, but how does one loot, pillage, raze, and rape without having harm come to civilians. So it does come down to context, but I have low expectations from Ubisoft now.

Personally I care much, much less about what gender the protagonist is than I do about having a good story with well written characters and having it be set in the actual assassin/templar stuff. I did not like Eivor (male or female). I could not care less about that whole story/game/protag if I tried. Odyssey was good only because the combat was fun and Alexios/Kass were fun characters. But I love Origins (if not the combat) and I love Bayek even more. I'm glad to be hopefully going back to the roots though. *fingers crossed*
As for Hexe. No thanks. Hard pass.

Eh, Edward wasn’t a part of the Brotherhood until the final act so he’d fall under the same thing as the Eagle Bearer and Eivor.

How witches and assassins might be connected is anyone's guess... Then again, same thing could said about pirates, Vikings, and street gangs yet there they are. Well, so far I'm less that 50% into Valhalla and I still have no idea why I should care about this entire assassins vs the order thing. It just so happens that some of Eivor's adversaries belong to the order (and only the order, the assassins seem to be squeaky clean so far). I think Valhalla might have been better as just a Viking game - might as well stop pretending that Eivor is the good girl with all the raiding and pillaging she does. But Valhalla as a whole is an odd bird of a game... like high production value mediocrity.

That's just my read on it, but as motivation for hunting down a disparate group of reactionaries...it works, but only just.

That wrestle for control of humanities destiny just seemed to become a small part of the plot of the new games not the major premise.

The next guy I have marked is a smith. He doesn't seem to do any harm other than making arms for the order people and Eivor is just going to murder him. I bet Geralt of Rivia and Adam Jensen would have tried to reason with such people first. And what a frigging blight Ravensthorpe is economy wise. The raiding you have to do just to construct a few more houses... poor England could probably ill afford a second viking village.
