"Sh!t" and "Beautiful".
With a $40m budget you'd think they could afford a thesaurus.
Any other overused words? Apart from "Pathfinder", of course?

Blue glowing orb that assists you, whether or not you asked for help? SAM is kind of Andromeda's answer to The Legend of Zelda's Navi.

To be fair $40 million isn't that much for a game like this and I am honestly surprised that it didn't come out with even more issues.
For comparison a game like GTA V cost US$265 million for both development and marketing, and that game came out as polished as a mirrored ball.
Alo development time is also a factor. As far as I know they only had 3 years to seriously work on the game and they changed over to the Frostbite engine which means they would have needed to remake the old assets for the new engine.

I actually think 40 million is more than enough, you could honestly argue a case where money doesn't equate to a better game, and I personally can as I tend to enjoy the smaller budgeted games over the ones that put hundreds of millions into theres. Plus I've also compared Andromedas budgets to previous bioware games and they're relatively even for the most part. So I don't see the money as the issue for Andromeda but rather Montreal being inexperienced. You referenced the engine, if you also look at montreals experience all they did before was ME3 multiplayer and the omega dlc.

Damn they were out of their depth with Andromeda, makes me even more impressed with what we got from a somewhat inexperienced team. P.S Now that you mention it the Omega DLC does have a vibe similar to that of Andromeda (Hell it even has Nyreen who is a relative to Kandros).

SAM isn't bad in and of itself, it's just the constant repeating that kills me.

Ryder and Cora are the biggest culprits at describing everything as "beautiful".
And Vetra and Peebee use "sh!t" liberally ... I miss the use of alien swearwords like Tali. Great little detail that added a lot to the quarian culture, instead of them just using generic English swearwords which adds nothing.

MEA knows only the best words! What you don't seem to realize is that this is all very intentional political commentary on the limited vocabulary of the so-called president south of Bioware's border. The Witcher series loves "Dwarf Cock" so...... Personally I enjoyed "portal." For 1,274 times, Geralt told me he hated going through them, but I'm still not really sure how he feels about going through portals. Did you know Geralt hates going through portals?

I'm curious, is plough or ploughing used often? Because I remember watching footage from Witcher 2 and I thought I'd heard it frequently but it may have stood out to me because I've never heard it used as a common word in that fashion.

IIRC all three games used it often. It's their f word. I didn't mind it at all. "Whoreson" may have been a little played out by TW3, to the point where it was even a character's nickname. I'll always associate that insult with Roche.

Merc: Hark, who goes there?
Ryder: Tis I the Trailblazer
Merc: Pig excrement...(to the other Mercs) we're in a predicament now
Ryder: I say, doth thou know how to access this Remnant repository that is conterminous to the other active repositories yonder?
Merc: Aye but thou hast not the lucrative means to impel mine own self or the endowment to cajole myself or my brethren.
Ryder: Alas, we are at an impasse then for I must attain passage into thine repository.
Drak: They are but buffoons who know not who they address...you should consume them.
Merc: I can auscultate you, you wretched upright tortoise. I doth bite my thumb at thee.
Drak: Have at thee you knave!
Or you know, we could just talk normal....

So ME:A probably cost anywhere from $120-160m.
