No official word but id assume yes its possible since it violates EAs terms of service. Bioware is also aware of the glitch, so it should be patched out soon™. FTFY. If they fix it in the next update then I will look stupid more stupid.

Bioware was aware of MGing in ME3MP almost right away and spent the next year trying to remove that, didn't work. So who knows ...

I seriously doubt they will ban people for this. If anything, we dd the testing for them on how weapons should perform damage wise.

This isn't running with the pizza here, there's nothing creative about this glitch. The problem is that using this glitch can ruin another player's experience. Almost no one cares if you glitch in a private lobby, but don't take this stuff into public rooms, it only hurts the game. It's double damage and it's brain dead easy to do for anyone. Not nearly the level of missile glitching but a lot worse than running with the pizza. It's not game breaking and honestly it's a PvE game. You can always see it in lobby and find another as well. Missile glitching was something that you had hints to if they had projectile weapons but you never knew for sure until in game. I do hope it gets fixed but I'm not really concerned about it. It damn sure doesn't ruin my in game experience to play with someone using it.

Technically yes but banning people over something like this would be unbelievably stupid... not even United would go that low.

either the double ammo thing is only available on certain kits or it no longer works, on pc at least for me that is /
just tried to equip two boosters on the kroguard and picking the second one clears the first one tried it with every combo I could and nothing would double stack
will be a shame if that's the case because I didn't bother doing it yet, although it would sure of made levelling up those bonus caps easier had I been doing xp boosters when it did work XD

I guess the real question is: how pathetic are you that you need double damage to complete gold? It's how you balance weapons and add much needed variety back into the game. Every weapon is viable with a 100% damage buff. For instance.. I finally got to feel what a much more balanced Ushior felt like.. and my RANK 6 Naladen was actually usable! It's making the game fun bc variety.. for me anyway.

All we did was exploit the game's weak point for massive damage.

I've occasionally been using it on trash gun for fun since a lot of them are unuseable without it and I'm bored of using vanquisher or equalizer every game. Anyway you can't even do it that much since the game is so stingy with consumables when you buy 100k packs that you run out really fast by double dipping and it's not gamebreaking like the missile glitch. Banning people for this would be pretty silly imo, I'm sure they'll have playerbase problems soon anyway so I don't see why they'd want to make said playerbase even smaller.
Anyway they seem intent on making the game easily farmable anyway by repeatedly giving us zero/outlaws sniper skirmish gold so why would they care if we use double ammo to beat the game on other maps anyway when they are allready providing us the most braindead way to beat gold as an apex mission.

And ammo glitching is only really a problematic thing if you use the piranha/vanquisher/hurricane and triple everyone else's score. All it does is make all the other guns usable. Tested on solo with the Mattock, Carnifex, Sandstorm, and Halberd As I recall, the Mattock and Halberd (all X) still required 4 or 5 headshots on a Silver raider. A basic Silver mook, 4 *headshots*, with a weapon that had its damage literally doubled. Doesn't even make the Halberd or Sandstorm Gold viable on a Turian Soldier. All goes back to the reason that everyone uses the Vanquisher, its like the only gun in the game that can drop a basic mook with less than 5 consecutive headshots.

Exactly what is the double ammo glitch and how does it happen? I'm curious so I know not to do it if it's something accidental.

For some reason I had the idea it had something to do with thermal clip packs glitching or something. This makes more sense. Thanks Nightman!

In all likelihood, this isn't bannable. This is something anyone can EASILY stumble into to doing without being aware of the bug. It absolutely ought to be fixed, but bans shouldn't and aren't generally doled out unless players are screwing up or bypassing systems.

Doubtful but they did seem to imply they would be taking action against cheaters and people abusing exploits since they consider it a violation of terms of service so who knows.

Doubtful but they did seem to imply they would be taking action against cheaters and people abusing exploits so who knows. That's the issue, though. There's zero way to verify whether someone is intentionally exploiting a bug or not. This isn't like the missile glitch where you need to do a specific sequence of actions with the right things equipped. This is just the player equipping two items which is perfectly feasible and typically expected of them. Ammo consumables are pretty strong with good effects, there's a better than small chance of someone thinking they should try equipping two.

Here's an idea Bioware.
Fix the ammo glitch/exploit. Ban people who are cheating using CheatEngine instead.

Slightly off-topic, is there an avenue or e-mail to which we can report cheaters? I run the game with FRAPS and sadly am accumulating many clips of cheating lobbies. I've recorded both the lobby screen + in game footage, just need a medium to submit all these to

Apparently, it was stated in the stream that you should leave and report people cheating (including ammo glitching) on answers.ea.
But, you'd have to be a special kind of stupid and/or pathetic to quit out of a lobby and go to the effort of reporting someone for using the ammo glitch.
"Oh? My ally is firing harder than I am and is therefore getting me credits quicker, while reducing the amount of fun I'm having by a miniscule percentage? I'd better get them banned for that."
For proper cheating, sure, but for ammo glitching..? Come on lol.

I don't understand on why people want to report people like this. It's obvious they don't have the tracking technology in place to see who is cheating and not. In my eyes, they are doing the community a favor by actually allowing weapons and powers to be playable. They are putting the balance in the game that the devs should have put in the first patch. Fuck morals and ethics if they are fixing someone else's mistakes.

My thought would be that if one has to ask themselves if said thing could possibly result in getting banned, then it's easier to just not do it and have no worries.
That being said, it seems a silly thing to consider doling out bans for.
