Forced to play the Kett because of the Gold Apex missions ... I know it's been said before but the sync-kills are just ridiculous.
The Ascendant orb has a warning animation and a warning sound but why?? I watched my friend dodge 2-3 times INSIDE this orb (after I had been eaten by a Fiend of course) but he could not escape.
The Fiend is a copycat and teleports around the map like his Ascendant buddy, despite the fact that he is 2x bigger than a Brute, and gives absolutely zero sync-kill warning. Suddenly you are just in his mouth.
I think these two sync-kills are actually the reason the Kett can be insanely difficult. Otherwise we were doing fine. But you are constantly forced to remain 50 miles away from any boss in case they get friendly and grab you with their elasti-arms. So either you are insta-dead or you are constantly kiting the map making waves take 10x longer.
In ME3 it was usually your own fault if you stumbled into a boss at the wrong moment. Here entire teams can get wiped by a boss on the next continent and leaves you frustrated with the game instead of frustrated with yourself.

I was happily uploading away on Zero, in the corner room next to the LZ, not a soul in sight. No red dots on the compass, I was cloaked, checking both doors back and forth, should be the first to finish, then run around drawing fire away from the other two uploads.
Then all of a sudden, Fiend literally appears through the wall at me and I'm in his mouth. There wasn't even a dot in that direction until he appeared there.
TLDR Mission Scrubbed, returning to base.

I remember seeing a Fiend once, I jumped out of a window to avoid it and 3 seconds later I appeared in the spot I was 3 seconds before, getting instakilled by a fiend.

Apex missions aren't worth playing anyway, the bonuses are laughable
At least in me3 you could interrupt killsyncs by dealing enough damage

So we have two bosses whose SOLE JOB is to insta-kill the team as quickly as possible.

I know that feeling. I actually saw the Fiend in one game and realized he was focused on me. Was a good distance away, so I started running and dashing away and high-tailed it into a room. Next thing I know, he teleports into the room right front of me (apparently doesn't need the door!), I dash away and get grabbed despite his hand clearly missing by several yards. I was lucky that someone used a cobra at that time and saved me (as I narrowly escaped an Ascendant sync), but it was ridiculous that it even happened in the first place. Fiends are just broken right now.

The Fiend's lag-sync is not only scary, but it causes players to run away much sooner than they normally would - meaning you spend less time dealing damage than you normally would. Fiend aggro seems very heavily weighted to the top player also, it will literally pass teammates to get to the highest scoring player.
I don't think the Ascendant is that bad, it more a matter of not being able to take him down til the end because of all the mooks trying to shoot your face off the whole time.

The issue with the fiend is that his animation doesn't sync with his mechanical self.
He looks like he is standing there, but he is actually sprinting around and launching his normal attacks, but they don't land because their hitboxes are connected to his model. Then his sync kill forces his model to update it's position.
I think the kett sync kills need to be toned down to where the hydra is, they kill you, but you can still be revived.

Agreed. They need to at least give some sort of warning sound/visual to allow us to escape a sync kill. I cannot even count the amount of times a Fiend teleported through a wall and instantly killed me.
Kett are straight broken because of this.

Meh, I've killed fiends lots more than been sync'd by 'em. Fun moment today -- was pumping a fiend with stickies just as he was grabbing a teammate, fiend died, teammate too, but was revivable!

I don't have a big issue with the ascendant to be honest, i can usually say to myself that i made a bit of a mistake if i get caught by him.
The fiend on the other hand is totally ridonckuluos. I can honestly say that every single time he has got me i have not seen or heard him and have often been in small room. All of a sudden i am in his maw.

Ok I don't play against the Kett very often but I have to say I have never seen the Fiend do a normal attack. His likelihood of starting a sync-kill when someone is at close range must be 95%. Sure but atm the devs only gather information, taking notes etc. They don't wanna overreact with the fixes. Imagine for example they patch the Fiend, fix the gun balance, make the powers and combos actually do damage so caster builds are viable....and people start having fun? Game would get completely out of control.

Agreed, to get through this mission I just ran a kiy with the vanquisher, as soon as I spotted him I took him out for the team, its do bad sometimes off host that unless the host deals with him the team is in for a rough match, I now look for a sniper I'm pugs, ty he only other weapon I have to handle Jim fsdt is the hurricane at level one.

Yeah, while doing that APEX mission today I was like 3 Fiends lengths away going "I can't believe he space magic dodged 3 rockets. He was right there, it was coming right for him!" Next thing I know I'm teleported up ahead right into his mouth, but my body dies and falls off the map still 3 Fiend lengths away. Whatever. Fiend does what he wants.

Fiends are pretty much the most BS enemy in the game to me. I never hear them. They manage to fit in the tiniest of spaces. FOV is set to rather small on consoles so there are times they can be right near you and you don't see it. That just happened to me again tonight. They move very fast with their charge so you might think you are getting away but nope. It's like they just wanted something like the brute but that was even worse. Brutes on the map made noise IIRC. So did banshees. yet, I had not heard anything out of the fiend. I think they have a roar. If they do it seems toned down over other sound effects. All I know is if I can stumble into a small room and find one there having no clue one was anywhere near me, that seems a little odd.

The Ascendant sync kill can be interrupted by destroying the orb. Saved a few teammates with a well timed Cobra to the feet. In laggy games using a Cobra is probably going to be a bit unreliable. As for the Fiend? Even rocketing it before the teammate ends up in it's mouth doesn't seem to save them. Seems like the host can dance around Fiends and not get synced, but anyone who isn't hosting is as good as dead from half the map away if the Fiend feels hungry enough.
Maybe changing the animation before the sync kill would give players more of a heads up. Seems like the arm swipe is as likely to sync you as it is to not sync you, in other words feels like a dice is rolled and you get chomped if the die lands on a sync kill number.

Your description fits with my experiences with fiends. But also: fiends and ascendants are not the only ones who glitch their apparent position. Today I noticed an Pariah glitch most of the way across Firebase Icebreaker - we were on the last three enemies, so you could easily see where it vanished to.

There's one spot in particular on Icebreak that triggers this. It's in the corner across from the LZ, right next to that ammo box under the little archway. There's a wall or something that enemies tend to get stuck on, and as soon as you start shooting them, they teleport away. I see it nearly every time I play on that map.

Problem is with Banshee all you needed to do was strip shields to get her uncharged and walk on the floor without being able to sync kill you. She also electrified up and did a scream when she was charging up and was going to start teleporting around. She needed to be in straight up melee to grab you, and her teleport also had sounds so you could actually react. In this multiplayer, all the enemies are super silent and their abilities poorly telegraphed.
