Problem is with Banshee all you needed to do was strip shields to get her uncharged and walk on the floor without being able to sync kill you. She also electrified up and did a scream when she was charging up and was going to start teleporting around. She needed to be in straight up melee to grab you, and her teleport also had sounds so you could actually react. In this multiplayer, all the enemies are super silent and their abilities poorly telegraphed. I agree, I can't say I've ever heard a peep from the Fiend whereas the Banshee scream made the hair on my neck stand up. Bosses are meant to be insanely powerful but also slow so if you've got the skill you can go one on one and survive. I really miss the Banshees...

Your description fits with my experiences with fiends. But also: fiends and ascendants are not the only ones who glitch their apparent position. Today I noticed an Pariah glitch most of the way across Firebase Icebreaker - we were on the last three enemies, so you could easily see where it vanished to. There's one spot in particular on Icebreak that triggers this. It's in the corner across from the LZ, right next to that ammo box under the little archway. There's a wall or something that enemies tend to get stuck on, and as soon as you start shooting them, they teleport away. I see it nearly every time I play on that map. That was the location - and I also often get fire from that location which I cannot return (because I would have to be shooting through something, I guess...). Meanwhile: I was playing a vanguard and I could not charge her. I thought that this was because of the "standing on boxes thing", but I might have been wrong (apparently, while charging observers or breachers floating in the air is just fine, if you have legs then standing on a box totally defeats the vanguard's charge skill). Now... I wonder if someone has the focus to collect the useful and informative clues about things going wrong here and package them up in a bug report for the MEA bug report forum? (Their current known issues post has a discouraging lack of coverage of anything related to kett sync-kill bugs.)

I think everybody agrees with the fiend sync kill being ridiculous. Ascendant can be annoying since they can sometimes grab you trought walls, but what annoys me the most is the damn orb. Sometimes the orb just dissapear while he's still in his bubble. I dont know if that was a bug but it made me loose the priority target because nothing could kill him.

The problem is the fiend not only closes distances with his charge really quickly and sync kills rather frequently (brutes in ME3 only ever sync killed if you stayed in prolonged melee and were out of shields)....
but the biggest problem of the Fiend compared to Kett Ascendant is that is has A METRIC SHIT TON OF HEALTH.
Kett Ascendant if it was the only mob that could sync kill would make waves a lot more manageable. But the problem is the team is basically kiting miles away from the ascendant and fiend while being lit up by free fire from the Anointed and Chosen on top of the constant swarm of dogs.
The Fiend either needs to be much, much quicker to kill or they need to remove his sync kill capacity. He is way too oppressive.
At least the Kett Ascendant trys to shoot you from range a couple of times and very rarely teleports close to you for a sync kill unless you're in mid range of him.
The Kett Ascendant also goes down much quicker than the fiend.

I have to say since I made this thread the Kett sync-kills seem a lot less frequent and less buggy these days.
I have managed to escape the Ascendant multiple times by dashing on hearing his sync-kill wind up sound. The orb is annoying and far too fast to reappear but it's pretty satisfying to coordinate to take him down.
I've stayed well away from any Fiends mostly but have dashed right past them and been swiped at (melee) and charged at with no sync-kill activated. He still tends to blink/teleport around though.
It may be that my friend is a very good host and therefore there isn't a huge amount of lag which would perhaps usually cause an inability to react in time to suddenly finding oneself very close to a boss. Or they have sneak-patched/balanced the Kett bosses.

The only thing I hated of the Banshees WERE THEIR SCREAM. It was scary the first, second, maybe third time. But when you drop a shit ton of hours on the MP the only thing you wish is that they would shut the hell up. I wasted so many rockets on them just to get a second of peace for my ears...

I don't see them and I scratch my head after I get killed because I have zero idea where they came from. Do they have fucking cloak? I mean that as a serious question because as I have said before, I will turn a corner and they are there, but it's not like it is a blind corner that I had zero sight into that are. But it's like they just show up. Like this video. Where was that fiend? Where???? God this boss is so broken.

I'm pretty sure they ran out of money before they could hire proper QA, which is why the game is so utterly falling apart with bugs on both SP and MP. In ME3MP I NEVER had a single Crash to Desktop, and I've played it since release date. In MEAMP I have already crashed out 5 times.

Meh, got chewed by Fiend the other day.
At first I thought that the game froze or something, since screen become grey and flickery. Then I realised it grabbed me from the room below, through the roof 😂😂😂.
So he was sync killing me in some space in between, surely no clever designer intended that. When it was done, my body was jammed between lower and upper room. Hilarious.
What a joke.

These sync-kills are first and foremost glitchy - pretty much like Banshees' ones in ME3MP. Actually, the Kett are local equivalent of Reapers. Like Outlaws are a pale shade of Cerberus and Remnant - local variant of Geth.

The only time I get sync killed in this game is by kett and it's always for the same reasons. Either the fiend or ascendant gltiched out and grabbed me through a wall/ceiling or from a mile away, or because they move and teleport around almost completely silently and instantly go for the sync kill. The other bosses telegraph their syncs and more importantly, do other things so that you have a chance to escape. It's not their first method of attack, but a punishment for anyone who stays within range too long.
95% of the time, a Fiend will go for a sync kill with no wind up right off the bat. Hell, I'm beginning to think its the only attack he has outside of his charge.
The Ascendants teleports should have a sound with them or something. Its ridiculois fighting a large group of enemies and then without warning the Ascendant that was just on the other side of the map grabs suddenly pop up and grabs you without a sound. They aren't as bad as the fiends, but still completely broken compared to the other two factions.
