Why did you romance your LI?

I romanced Jaal because I just love the unlikely romances, the kind that raise eyebrows, but, his seemed forced and way too quick. New species, hardly know anything about them and given that they are wary of newcomers it just seemed too out of place. Imo, better suited to a second or third game.

Liam's is very sweet and fun and has definite continuation after the game has ended.

Reyes has to be my favourite though even though his is very short. The bad guy you're warned about but can't help loving.

Learned that the hard way. Just don't use the friendship icons and you can drag out Jaal's romance as long as you want. He is actually harder to get if you just treat him like a regular squadmate.

My SisRyder romanced Reyes because who can resist a sexy outlaw with that accent.

As much as I like Jaals written character (visual design is a bit meh) I have never really gone for alien LIs. Liam with be a LI for another Ryder down the line.

Just don't use the friendship tones and that romance takes forever. And at 33 I am in love with that romance, so are the other adult women who romanced him. He's just not your type.

Yeah that is what I felt too, so I did some testing and Jaal's romance can be roleplayed in many ways if you choose. My personal fav is building a friendship that hints at more, then destroying the facility. He then does not want to talk to you, so then I meet Reyes and flirt around, then later after Jaal is cooled off, I flirt with him and get his "Dearest" email, and then hear his jealous banter about Reyes. Then I make sure not to be serious with Reyes and wait for Jaal to ask me to be with him.

I actually prefer destroying the facility and his reaction makes things better imo, plus my first thought was always the same as the Moshae's, so that's how I do it now.

I am not against Liam, PeeBee or Vetra, but I find Jaal and Reyes to have the most interesting romances.

Peebee. She's the kind of woman I like IRL, fun, doesn't take sex too seriously, and good company. I would have loved it if the first sex scene had been more explicit, with them floating around in zero-G, bumping into things and generally enjoying the experience. Instead I just had sound through a wall and staring at a stupid remnant.

Other options? I have no interest in gay relationships ("not that there's anything wrong with it"), playing a woman in a sex scene, or sex with people with non-human bodies, so that just leaves Cora, who would be my second choice I guess, though she's a bit serious for my liking.

On the other hand, after the ME series, I had vowed never to be sucked into the romance trap again. Why? Well, it's just too limited in content (a few increasingly sexy conversations, followed by one sex scene, then pretty much nothing, with huge gaps in between, during which you hopefully return to the LI to see if she will say something new, only to get the same tired lines again). I determined I would just watch what people put on youtube and forget about it in game. But I thought, "maybe it will be better this time". Unfortunately not. I do understand what it would take to create a fully fleshed out (pun intentional) romance, the number of cut scenes it would take, the sheer volume of dialog, the number of branching choices, and so on. But if it can't be done well, maybe it would be better to just skip it altogether?

Every time with my f Ryder can't resist him😏 Can't wait to see where they go with him. Vetra is my girl bff love her an when Liam starts on her about Sid I so miss renegade Shep cause I want to space him out the air lock. Only ever played a male in DAI of all BW games since BG just for Dorian so just ran through Scotts an he fell for Gil lol. Just wish there was more like if u just want to kiss them or hang out like in DAI kept them interesting between all the running around. I'll take more Reyes anything there willing to give us.

And she kind of reminded me of Isabela in DA2 without all the jaded-ness ...or stds...

My first (and at this point only complete) version of Scott is concurrently romancing Keri, Reyes, and PeeBee. I was actually surprised that I hadn't ended up locking myself out of PeeBee's after picking the "no strings" option and doing the whole plotline with Reyes (I knew you could have Keri + someone else, but hadn't realized Reyes worked that way too), but I'm not complaining.

I think I've said this is five threads over the past couple of days, but I think Keri had the best-paced romance content in the game. With all the other ones it was too easy to unlock everything one scene right after the other, which doesn't make the narrative flow in a natural way. Reyes' plot isn't well paced, but I thought he was hilariously over the top, and since I was playing Scott as someone who makes incredibly poor decisions, it seemed like the right choice. 

I choose who I'm going to romance based on the love interest's personality and backstory. I have to like those before I choose them as a love interest. Also, they have to be available to a straight man 99% of the time because that's all I've played minus one occasion.

Ashley for her love of poetry and having a big family.

Kelly for being flexible. If you're a paragon, she likes nice guys, if you're a renegade, she likes bad boys. She just likes you no matter what. Plus I think she's adorable. I want to take care of her.

Peebee likes to make jokes, be sarcastic and not take things too seriously. I love that.

Leliana for being a bard from Orlais. I love everything about Orlesian culture. The masks, the game, etc. I always encourage her to go down that path over the Chantry path.

Isabela for being a toughie pirate with a soft inside. I love that you have to get to know her and show her you really care about her for her to admit that she really loves you and it's not all about sex. She's sarcastic too which is another plus for me.

Sera for the same reasons as Peebee.
