I'm really hoping that this isn't the only thing they meant when they hinted multiple times in yesterday's stream to watch out for something cool this weekend. Like, I'm a big fan of goofy stuff like this, but I really, really, really want to see a weekend or community event that isn't a Bronze mission. i.imgur.com/o2j8gQr.jpgEdited to add: Not my pic, stole from reddit post, assuming it's real for now.

Ok it wasn't just me. I was disarming an objective and it did look peculiar (I labelled it as personal fatigue and poor eye sight as a result of age)

I would be surprised if they did anything more than this. It's in line with what they did for ME3MP.

I would be surprised if they did anything more than this. It's in line with what they did for ME3MP. Well, ME3MP had the weekend events with individual and community goals, that's my real complaint. That so far all we've had are Bronze APEX missions with no actual reward tied to them. The weekend events often encouraged different play styles, difficulties or playing particular factions. With the hinting they were doing on stream, I was hoping for something more this weekend, but so far what we've got is easter baskets.

Kind of silly but I like it.
I remember one game on April fools made force based powers like a thousand times more powerful which was just damn hilarious. I hope they do some stuff like that.

The fact that these incredibly underwhelming "missions" are almost undoubtedly the replacement for weekend events is really making me think about calling it quits. I could stick with the game if it actually had engaging content, but it just doesn't.

How we looked forward to a free crate to level up the Eagle so we could get it out of the way of our paid for crates. Fun days to be sure.

I remember when the devices were changed to pumpkins for Halloween and presents for the Holidays in ME3. Aren't the baskets adorable?? I just want to collect the baskets and share them with a Fiend. He just needs a friend and some chocolate, right? Missed opportunity to put everyone in pink bunny suits. It would be nice to have actual community events every weekend. Even DAIMP did this even if all of them could be completed solo and were rehashed week after week.

Even DAIMP did this even if all of them could be completed solo and were rehashed week after week. You don't want to give chocolate eggs to the fiend. Ever seen a dog get into a chocolate stash? Now multiply that result by the size of a fiend... As for Apex missions in place of events? Yeah, extremely underwhelming and unrewarding.

I would rather everyone just have free unlimited revive packs for the weekend.
Cos some guy with a beard invented the first medi-gel about a couple of thousand years ago. He didnt record his recipe in the bible, but I have it in good faith that its something to do with palm leaves and sacrificing cute fluffy bunnies.
He was also technically the first recorded zombie.

I knew I wasn't seeing things the other day. I like this kind of stuff because it's silly. I miss the ME3 stuff they did like the pumpkins. I want to say they also made the objective deliveries actual pizza boxes one time but it's been so long I'm not sure if that happened or I just dreamed it.

Steve Jackson Wannabees? Seriously, though, the real problem is shoddy workmanship. Blaming SJWs is just a lame excuse. lol Social Justice Warriors. These are the people that are part of the Burger King generation of kids. They whine and yell because they want it their way and they protest because something doesn't go their way. So Bioware caves and changes things to submit to their whims. I agree with shoddy workmanship; at least this can be repaired and changed. The influence of SJWs can't. If you do break game mechanics, at least that is fixable. DPS? fixable. Sync kills? fixable. Teleportation of fiends with a sync? fixable. Mattock? fixasble. Double ammo glitch? fixable. I can go on... Bad dialogue? won't be fixed. Passive characters? won't be fixed. So many characters with pastel colored hair? won't be fixed. I can go on... Shoddy workmanship? Fixable All of the above are examples of shoddy workmanship. But, for example, the problem with hair is not "pastel colors" it's "monochrome color". This is similar to the problem with the coloring of the irises of the eyes. Real hair has different strands of different color. You do not see this in black hair (though even there, there are some reflection effects which are similar in character), but is the reason most people avoid light hair in mass effect. Put differently, if they just put streaks of different colors in instead of a plain, flat mat of color, it could look a lot better. (The same thing goes for your eyes. This could be fixed. The eyes should be easier to fix than the hair (since we already have two colors - they just need a couple overlayed images to blend the colors right, and this mostly only matters for closeup face shots). But it would not be all that difficult to add a second or even third hair color and a blending mechanism. Actually, maybe they already had this and then pulled it out at the last minute because of bugs or performance issues? Either way, it should not be too difficult to rebuild, and someone who made an attempt already would probably have a pretty good idea of how to proceed. (Actually resurrecting a broken implementation though might be a bad idea - assuming that even exists - because that would put too much priority on preserving the old bugs.) The dialogue thing, though, is something that you would have to take up with the management (which apparently has been replaced) and the creative team (who apparently have mostly left). So that pretty much kills future Mass Effect sequels, sadly, unless these new people get really good (which would mean addressing dialogue issues, among other things). So... really, it's just the future of the business? Not like that matters, right? The "passive characters" thing, though... you might be right there? ... but... can you or anyone identify any games where characters were not passive, where combat matters like it does here? (In other words, do you really want your companions to be charging off ahead of you?) But I don't see any reason for giving whiners credit for any of these issues. And I do not care if you call those whiners SJWs or if you call them SPs or if you call them creeps or if you call them jerks. These were all because of choices made by the people who put the game together. And some of those choices went really well. But others... well... it really feels like some of them just wanted to be carried by the people doing the real work.
