I know the opinions on the Nomad have been varied to say the least, and although it can at times become tedious I'm still having fun with i! I thought it could be fun to have a thread where people can post videos and pics of the crazy stupid stunts they've done. I will start with my propensity to make my crew lose both their lunch and their faith in Ryder as a leader... You can clearly see the bridge just over there, but YOLO!  |

Once I upgraded it a bit, I love cruising around in the Nomad. I enjoy swapping out paint jobs and finding the best routes to say "Fuck you, mountains!" and scale right over them instead of doing the sensible thing and going around.
I wish there were some "weapon" upgrades, but more like a plow for the front to ram unsuspecting Kett over, or maybe a flamethrower.
It's pretty great. Needs an MP3 player to play "Highway to Hell" though. I think it's a great way to get around and a blast. Parking on top of the Tempest is just cherry.

I totally love the nomad, but I also love driving in general (in real life and in games), so I may be biased. I know some folks hate it. If I had a gun on top like the mako, or some of the Mad Max Fury Road gadgets to take down kett, I would be super pleased! Also, the H037 planet is fun because of the nomad jumping and the screaming from the back seat! Currently on my 2nd play through of the game, and I am enjoying the nomad a lot more this time becuase I FINALLY have banter on all the planets,. It makes it super fun to drive around just to listen to the crew. For example, I just realized that Liam and Vetra do not get along, and I had NO idea that was a thing in my entire first playthrough. Thanks NOMAD for letting me get to know my sqaud. (here's hoping they won't seem s dull now...) Also..."Shit...shit...SHIT!" |

I like this thing a lot better than the Mako. No more flying into orbit because you ran over a mouse turd. No more flipping end over end for miles because someone popped bubble wrap 500 LY away from you. No more circus clown physics because you did something other than sit idle in one place.
Yeah.. I wish we'd had the Nomad from the start. The only thing I miss is a weapon. It was fun using the cannon on the Hammerhead, but even that thing was a pain in the ASCII to drive. Not nearly as bad as the Mako, though.

The Nomad is ace, my only gripe with it is the lack of a weapon and the lack of enemy vehicles to fight(whether it be gunships like in ME2 or armored ground vehicles), but that's more a gripe with the game in general than the vehicle itself per say.

Give it a gun (at best a gun and some rockets - like an IFV from Battlefield 4 if you equip it with TOW-Missiles!), make it a little faster and beef up the shields and armor and then we can talk about me appreciating the thing...also: Give us missions that really rely on the thing (we have exactly one that truly does - the one on that moon where your super space-suit supposedly can't protect you from the radiation (which is IMHO bullshit!))...of course only if it has been armed first! (otherwise it would just be more tedious driving and not combat!) As it is it's fun to drive - FOR A WHILE! After that it gets tedious (the maps are just so empty and there's truly nothing to really explore (there's nothing that you really need to pick up outside of quests or super secret stuff you can only discover with it...the caches aren't even truly worth it sadly!) greetings LAX ps: Zoom-Optics and some other upgrades, too (otherwise you can't truly utilize the gun to its fullest potential!) |

Going in, I was super angry that they brought back the roving hunk of metal that couldn't steer.
...Then I drove it... Boy was I wrong. Sure, a gun would be nice....but this was a vast improvement over the Mako. That thing can burn in it's own private Hell. The Nomad leaves that thing in the dust! And that's before I upgraded it! I couldn't believe how easy it was to handle! Thank you BioWare for taking your time developing it and making it perfect.

I love driving games, so the Nomad was right up my alley. I love the way it handles, and I love that it sort of reminds me of Batman's tumbler with its boosters (even better that I can have one in black). If I had to make any complaints about it besides being an unarmed vehicle, it would be a story-related issue. The rover should have come with the Tempest, not be a thing you just happen to find on Eos. Honestly, having it be a thing you find didn't add anything meaningful. It could have just been a thing that's showcased upon first boarding the ship, perhaps with Gil fanboying over it or something.
