Sadly, after completing about 40% of the game, I find myself just going through the motions to finish the game and wait for changes to come via a patch. I may actually have to stop playing completely. Don't get me wrong. I actually enjoy the game a lot and I am developing quite a crush on my Ryder... but I simply cannot read 3/4 of the text and the longer I play, the more I realize how much of the game I have missed. Either I play the game in short bursts, squinting or I need to stand up every time there is reading and get close to the TV. The eye strain is significant so I do need to consider that. I have heard that changing the font size is something that MAY be considered down the road, so I guess I need to wait to see if that happens but it really frustrates me. I am an older player with glasses (yes, but very good-looking none-the-less  ) I have a 42 inch TV and sit about 6 feet from the TV. I have no difficulty reading content in any other game (except DA:I interestingly enough) so I don't really understand why its a problem with Bioware only. If I even knew that they were definitely going to fix the size and clarity it would help, but I can't seem to get a response from Bioware or EA. Any suggestions regarding visual setting on my PS4, intel about what may be coming in the next patch would be welcome. Thanks for listening ... :sob: |

I had the same problem with DAI. Even on a 50inch screen I had to move the couch closer to read the text. Others mentioned it. It was fixed in a patch which helped.
Maybe they will fix the issue in a patch.

I am right there with you. The text is next to unreadable and with the hint boxes disappearing so quickly I am caught in a bad place. Little things like this are weighing down a game that has so many warts.
As I said unfortunately this is not the only problem I am having. I am not finding the characters engaging, the quests are disjointed and there is little tension in the game. I literally have over 2000 hours in the ME series and I am just not finding ME in this game. I hate that I am complaining since I know others are having fun and love the game. I just wish I was one of them.

Both DA:I, Witcher 3 and this has this text problem, and it was fixed in the other two games via additional options added via a patch, so I'm sort of counting on it already.

I never saw that problem in The Witcher, but I also played it about a year after it came out, so maybe they patched it.
I never had the problem in Mass Effect 2, but I also played it on a console, on my couch. It would've been hard to read even if it was big.

Some of the BW games I've played had text scaling issues with some of the resolution settings. If you're on PC have you tried a different res?
Edit - NVM OP, I just saw that you are on PS4. Sorry about the text :/ that definitely seems like a deal breaker.

Not to say anything about you OP. But this is something that happened to me recently too. Having never experienced it before I had my eyes checked.
Turns out Im near sighted.
Things are a lot clearer now, when Im wearing glasses.
Get your eyes checked if you can. If youre Australian you get free eye tests from medicare.
Otherwise sorry for derailing with my optometry problems.

I do have near-sightness and wear glasses - got a new Rx about a year ago so I should be ok.  - me in glasses....  I do wonder if there is a better way to set the lighting on the PS4 for this game. Maybe that will help a bit. |

Fracking neon blue text on a black background. Any bright color on a black background for reading text is hideous. I hate it. It makes my eyes swim. I tell my students not to do it. I seriously walk out of conference presentations when I see a speaker do it. And I can't believe that all the menus, terminals, puzzles, AND remnant vaults use this headache-inducing color scheme. I can read the text OK...I just get annoyed every time I do!  |
