Agreed, It's rather shameful that a selection of generated heightmaps with fancy skyboxes and weather from ten years ago managed to look more alien and environmentally intriguing than anything Andromeda could offer, Here are just a few examples: Altahe Nonuel Binthu

You don't expect barely viable colonizable planets to be a waterworld or lush grassland lanscape, do you?

To be fair, all the hub planets in Andromeda's Helius Cluster are undergoing terraforming. But throughout the game we see a snow, desert, tropical, jungle, mountainous, and moon terrains. And on Peebee's mission there's volcanic terrain. The only other 2 types of terrain i can think of are woodland and coastal/sea-side terrains. Maybe we'll see planets that include those in upcoming DLC. Hanar are an aquatic species so they'd fit well with a coastal/ocean planet. Hanar were reported to be on the Quarian Ark. I really don't see what the big deal is. What other climates would you want to see? I want to see more environmental variety and my taxpayer dollars put to BETTER use than this. Brand new galaxy, brand new characters, brand new everything......yet they went with the same old shit. Your taxpayer dollars? What the???

While i agree on how desapointing is so many deserta, we must remember that mass effect 1 was a lot worse The planets had nothing to do except to have fun with the mako and do small quests
Mass effect 2 and 3 were amazing but no exploration.
I Mean, the main point of these planets is as people sair, only to use the nomad.just look at gabar. It would be hard to a console if all planets were like it

Yeah, I expect them to look like Texas desert. Nothing says "this planet needs some terraforming" better than this Never seen any John Ford movies? That picture is of Monument Valley which is on the Utah/Arizona border not west Texas, west Texas isn't that red from what I've seen. And maybe it's because I've lived in Utah all my life, but I find it beautiful. Hot, dry, deadly, but beautiful. Just as I found Eos beautiful. I think Eladden and Voeld were supposed to be homages to Tatooine and Hoth to be honest. I mean Voeld even has a Rebel Resistance base.

Eos makes me itchy with all that sand and sun (I hate the summer), Kadara is semi-arid and looks too much like Eos in some areas.......and now I just got to Elaaden, a more extreme replica of Eos. Are you effin kidding me again? They copied Sur'kesh and named it Aya, Havarl is what Ilos would've looked like at its Prothean peak.....and they couldn't come up with anything new? Yes I mentioned in my review. There's a general lack of creativity in the artistic department that permeates all the game. Not only the planet design was lacking, but also not much effort was put in character design either.

You don't expect barely viable colonizable planets to be a waterworld or lush grassland lanscape, do you? I think it would have been cool if there were more planets like Havarl where they were dying and you had to rescue them instead of mostly dead and barren. Then, you come back later for something else and see the plant life a bit more green, water a bit more clear, air easier to breathe, etc. I'm OK with planets like Voeld and Eos, but I'll trade in Elaaden for something a bit more visually appealing.

I was expecting alot more planets to explore full stop. I still don't understand the point of the planet exploration deal in MEA.
Third play set and i am not looking foward to traveling to every planet again to 100% the system.
I understand that we can't land on every single one. But could of been something better than the scan and maybe something is there for exp or material.
Suvi " We've got a crater"......
Mapping planets and scanning for resource high points. Could of yielded large amounts of resources for a settlement of your choosing.
Giving them bonuses or passives that can be useful for you. But then again this goes into what i was expecting outposts to be. Silly i thought we would actually see settlements grow over time...😕

lol it is something I have noticed Rannoch looks like Eos which looks like the Western Approach. You know what I miss? Beaches, bioware used to love beaches and some of their best work has been done on beaches like Kotor and Virmire in ME 1. Bring back beaches bioware.

And then you have Voeld which is also desert but white The marshmallow planet is annoying. Where the hell are you getting your marshmallows from? You might want to consider a different brand or at least checking the expiration date.
