Also, out of curiosity, what's the current gay/youdontgetit consensus regarding the toxic levels DAO Morrigan where it was a choice of 'die or sleep with a woman'? Not really, there is Alistair. Also it is unfair to compare the two. Morrigan is a companion, you know her and her motivations and there is actually three choices to resolve the situation. It feels more like a friend offering a way out of a shitty ending than "YOU NEED TO HAVE BABIES TO ROMANCE THIS CHARACTER THE RIGHT WAY", the problem is Jill being connect to the romantic arc in a way that seems that Gil loses agency. Also, out of curiosity, what's the current gay/youdontgetit consensus regarding the toxic levels DAO Morrigan where it was a choice of 'die or sleep with a woman'? You didn't have to have sex with Morrigan, you could have Alistair/Loghain do it. Same thing. There is a choice: "Gil, you should have a baby with Jill!" "Gill, you shouldn't have a baby with Jill!" There are many variations to the relation with Morrigan, from love to sent her away before so the 'Morrigan is a friend' is a bit of a stretch. On the other hand Gil and Jill are established as best, family level friends. Again you are not forced into anything. Jill approached Gil after the eos meeting. Maybe there's another main mission between that, overall and endgame pacing is a bit inconsistent. Anyway she just suggested it and Gil approached you/Ryder for an advice. In the romance he doesn't break up and makes a decision on his own (though it would fit the BW profile), the choice is still there with the addition of involving Ryder in the process too. The only problem is the timing, their relationship is a bit young for a decision like this. But of course if the Jill quest had been cut from the Gil romance then it would have been 'homophobic' for not including it...

Jill's "suggestion" came after she made a remark that carries a lot of homophobic baggage. Not to mention it makes her look like a busybody with a screw loose since her reaction to finding out Gil has a new boyfriend is "you guys should totally have a baby right away." If her suggestion had been, "if you guys decide to start a family sometime in the future, I'll be happy to be the surrogate," that would have been fine, but that's not what we got.

How I met your human mother.
Chapter two: Meeting Zip.
Jill grinned cockily over her right shoulder in the mirror, running her fingertips firmly along her casual wear as she admired herself, before turning on a dime in her Adhi skin ankle boots and 'initiative aqua' denim jeans with the big belt made of milky way leather. She almost paraded out of the room like the whole world was watching.
It felt like they were.
She'd been feeling the rush since work started and it felt good to have stability in something out here on the new frontier. Hell even the poker had improved since she last saw Gill. Her new Krogan poker partner was onto his own triggers and she relished in the opportunity to up the ante, as well as push his buttons.
With impatient readiness she paced at the door practicing one liners; and rehearsing her burns and their delivery.
Then the door.
"With warm regards, welcome."
Began her Elcor manservant.
"Politely, please flollow me this way."
Jill was surprised, Urdnot Kask wasn't alone. Clutching a shotgun behind her right leg she firmly demanded to know why.
"Kask, what's this?" she began.
"You know better than to bring people here."
Kask laughed almost joyfully and responded.
"Calm down Jill, and put the shotgun away; His name is Zip and he needs to talk to you about something, something big..."
Unfazed Jill revealed her weapon and casually waved her hand from her wrist.
"So speak, up. But I'm keeping my shotgun."
