What's interesting is that many of the planet's we visited might look very different in the sequel.
Imagine actually going to a beach on Eos with the crew.

I have to be honest I am surprised Veold is getting a lot of attention. White, white and more white, not to mention so many darn hazard zones, that don't even go away after starting the vault. I did enjoy a lot of the quests.

Havarl, like most people said, really feels unique, alien, mysterious. It's the only planet who really have a huge flora. Feels a bit like Pandora in Avatar, taught less unique.
I quite like Eos, theres something that reminds me Tatooine, dunno why.
Voeld is, meh.. maybe if we could have a day/weather cycle it could be more interresting. it would be awesome if the snow could start melting after we reactivated the vault.
habitat 7 is quite intriguing with floating rocks everywhere. I would liked to explore more of it.
Merridian is cool, looks like a Paradise for earth people. Sad we can't explore more of it.
I like the Port in Kadara, but quite small. The rest of the planet doesn't feel alive.
Eladaan is the one I enjoy the less. It feels so empty.

Havarl, because its something new and fresh, I have already seen winter planet in the first mass effect with Noveria (voeld), I have already seen desert planet with tuchanka (eladen), but a jungle world with too much vegetation and just beautiful lands is something new and fresh, adding to that the angara lore that I just love its perfect.

Havarl was pretty cool. It felt really alien. Didn't take long to traverse on foot, and had some great quests to it. I wish more of the worlds were like that, would have helped with the game's pacing issues. Don't get me wrong, i love the Nomad, it handles really well, but some of the planets were way to big and took away from the pacing of the main/important side quests.

Earth. Why? Its the best looking planet in the universe. excellent. Eos. A lot of beachfront property can be built there. Get in some surfing, grow some palm trees. Have a few golf courses. Dune buggy races. And for my Ryder, the kett stronghold will be used as a base of operations and residence It would seem pretty smart for the initiative to repurpose all the cap the kett left behind when we kicked them out of there.

I've picked Havarl (because -awesome world design), but I should admit that I loved most of them. When I first saw Voeld I was like 'okaaay, it's Hoth 2.0', but then I realized how atmospheric it is, with its strange beauty. I could see that it was more than just an RNGed snowy-icy terrain. And some questlines were gorgeous (like those 'singing under ice' creatures, crazy AI, and most of the Angara stuff). I disliked the bases\the fortress, though. Way too boring and repetitive. The least favourite would be Kadara, because it was like half of the galaxy wanted me to go there, and I had to pass through two loading screens (landing + going to slums), run and jump over the bloody fence in order to even see my map. They NEED to patch in an extra landing to the outpost\surface (I don't care what Sloan has to say about it). Horrible and annoying design, which overshadows the decent sceneries and couple of interesting quests. By the way, I'm surprized not to see the Meridian on the list. Why? We're in spoiler section here, and it does have some unique features, you know.

Habitat 7. Loved the floating mountains and electrifying ground. Felt accessible. Second place would be Eos because it seemed like the most progress was made there and more opened up as you followed the main quest.
In contrast, I disliked Havarl having chasms and "mountains" that were borderline insurmountable for a while. I felt like quest markers directed you into solid walls but you were actually supposed to go around some other way. Similarly, Voeld was frustrating because even after "fixing" the planet you still had weather the wasn't really good for my Milky Way peeps. Maybe it wouldn't have bothered me had we not seen Eos have an immediate and drastic change after accessing its Vault.

Kadara because it has the best executed main and side quests with most memorable events and characters and most cinematic conversations. And it's one of the very rare cases in the game where we feel the difference based on choices.

Habitat 7, like Havarl, really looks alien, but we're there for so little time I can't really have a positive or negative feelings about other than Alec's fate. I like Eos best because it's fun to drive the Nomad around and it had the best background with the failed outposts, etc. Made me really feel like I accomplished something with Prodromos. Plus, and I've mentioned this before, it reminds me of home. Eladden is good, I like the overall plot with the Krogans (fight scene aside ) and I like the fact that you have to have permission from them to settle there. I hate Voeld. I think it had too many fetch quests and random spawn quests and it drove me crazy. And of all those quest I only two left any kind of impression on me, the poachers and the quest where you find the AI. Aya is beautiful, and I imagine that this would be my Ryder's favorite place (headcanon they lived in Hawaii). H047c is so much fun, especially the way your companions freak out when you get close to the canyons. Priceless. Also the floatyness of the Nomad made me all nostalgic, it was like driving the Mako again. Havarl, is the planet I thought looked the most alien that's for sure. What with the glowy plants and the perpetual twilight, but I found the quests there rather lackluster (with the exception of Friend or Foe? but that's not part of the main quest on Havarl) Kadara I really like the main quests on Kadara, but I hate the transit system. Especially after you set up the outpost. Why can't I just land at the outpost? Why to I have to got to Kadara Port, then transit to the slums, and then run to the forward station to get into the Nomad? When I could have landed at the outpost which was probably closer to my objective anyway? So Eos and H047c are my favorites with a runner up for Kadara.

Habitat 7 because it felt the most like an alien Mass Effect world. It seemed open but was still somewhat linear to push the story. Havarl was ok but it seemed kind of stupid to have a massive fight always going on in the middle of such a tiny map.

Habitat 7 would have been the human's version of Aya when it was once beautiful based on the pic on the vid screen we see at the start of the game.

We're in spoiler section here, and it does have some unique features, you know. Meh..the only interaction I had with Meridian was driving really fast through pretty scenery for like 2 minutes. I was kinda trying to get a sense of what folks liked about planet design and interacting with the environment, etc, to see which aspects of open-world design the Bioware folks got right and what folks liked about it. I felt the interaction was so limited, it is diffcult to compare. In that regards, perhaps Aya should be removed, but I kept Aya on the list because even though it is only a city, we actually have alot of time to interact with it. Agree that the loading screens on Kadara were so stupid. I also loved Veold! I can't put my finger on why, but I really had fun there.

Havarl had the best pacing, it didn't feel like a chore towards the end of completion. But it was excessively dark.
Kadara had great character with the outlaws, sulphurous water and amazing views. I was pretty immersed in the storyline, Sloane and Reyes were good characters. They just need to streamline the access to the main map.
Elaaden was also pretty cool, but I was suffering from open world fatigue by the time I got there.
Aya, I wish we could explore more of it. Half of the planet appears to be lush and the other half a fiery hell, and yet the game makes little reference to it. Great potential for a future map.

Hard choice. Havarl is def the most beautiful, but I don't find the quests all that great.
I voted for Kadara because: 1) You get to choose between Sloane or Reyes, possibly romancing Reyes and KILLING Sloane (YES!) 2) The quests on the planet are more fun. I'll actually finish most of them 3) Ryder dances at Sloane's party 4) If you finish the vault quest, you get an awesome Fusion Mod 5) Going to Kadara opens up the cluster map more = experience or resources
If I had to put planets in order: 1. Kadara 2. Havarl - it's damn beautiful, some good quests, but not enough--therefore thankful it's a smaller map 3. Eos - enough fun quests, and plot relevent 4. H047c - it's fun to drive on 5. Eladeen - the only thing of note here is the Krogan colony 6. Voeld - too vast, and not enough interesting quests. I feel like it's one big fetch quest map. I don't view the Moshae quest as really happening on the map proper, it's all inside the facility, so last place.
Aya doesn't count
