I agree.  It really is getting old.

I don't mind lifeless big maps, when it is just for combat and to show off how cool and alien everything looks. Make those maps optional with mindless fun combat without any boring fetch quests and concentrate on memorable ME2 style quests with 2 or 3 hubs that feel alive (and have goddamn music in it). Problem solved.

Sometimes I think the requirements to become a game director must be really low.

Every good psychiatrist would tell you that there are moments in live when you have to let loose, find a new purpose and move on. Being so adiccted to something that has hurt you so awefully bad is not good for your health. You should try to find something new that brings joy and happiness back to you.
