Imperator Furiåsa @devilkitten I really love her little sneer. She's like "okay, let's do this".
Kelvin Ng @biowarekelvin The water cooler on the floor where Mass Effect was built is making this high pitched screeching noise :| @publicmain Can I file a bug on our water cooler
No, no. Not a bug report. The correct course of actions is to fire internet and start posting how Bio is loosing its cool, and adding a water animations are crap meme.
Considering that the whole player conversation and behavior was scripted? I'd say that it was surely part of Praxley's mission.
Considering Praxley's mission says "rescue workers", that the Scar Ambush which had its own icon which wasn't a quest one and the quest marker associated the Praxley mission pointed elsewhere at the start of the demo...I don't think it was.
There were no quest markers for Praxley's mission at all in the game, including anything that would mark Praxley as quest giver. Like many UI elements, they were likely switched off for the sake of presentation. There really is no reason to think that this was an encounter was a random one, when we get mission from Praxley, then we hear a call for help, we get player to comment it's likely part of Praxley's mission, we get quest update telling us to eliminate scars (this was not a new quest) and then we see the giraffe being ambushed in a heavily scripted scene.
All in all, this is a minor issue. The thing we were discussion was whether the giant mechanical giraffe is piloted, and it likely is.

There is a quest marker. The icon beside Hell and High Water when it pops after talking to Praxley show up outside with an arrow when Michelle is standing on the balcony, it disappear when it end up behind her because she moved in the opposite direction.
The Scar Ambush icon is different from the one associated to Hell and High Water (it's a target instead of a orange triangle). The Shaper Storm (Enter the storm) has a similar icon to Hell and High Water but the middle symbol is yellow instead of orange too.

Agreed that this AT-AT like monstrosity is piloted. Also, quite useless in a dense forest environment.
I think the artists put it there for eye candy goodness.
Way more useful in forest environment than any vehicle we know. There's a reason why we're developing quadrupedal robots specifically to scale difficult terrains even today.

And dropped by the army... too noisy.
My point is that this game is shown as a 4 man fire team co-op shooter. There is no way we will have the use of this thing in the game. It's there for the purpose of making the environment "live".
The staged demo showed us its weakness. It has no defense when under attack. This monstrosity is made up of nuts, bolts and steel plates. Yet, when it fell over, the explosion made it look as if it was full of fuel.... with lit embers flying in the air no less... usually seen only at night, btw.

These openings make me think they probably have the foundations of the game just about up and running but they still need to construct most of the game world.
Or am I reading too much into it?

Hard to say...
It could just be staff turnover and they need to fill vacancies.

Ooooor... both Anthem and DA4 production is gaining steam and both teams need more people?
Anyway - didn't some interview from months ago claimed that they have more than expected done already? (Or maybe that means that they need people to do even more?)

Yeah, that was Aaryn. And then they delayed it...
Good point about DA4, they may have just yoinked some of Anthem's staff (which, tbf, was DA's staff to begin with...) as they're ramping up for the next game.

Austin, uh? Guess they will be the ones to keep the game going with support after Edmonton finishes the main product.

Snip

Obviously, an untrue statement.
The staged demo shows us the boss who clearly hired a non Freelancer team to do dangerous work outside Fort Tarsis.
Morpheus: "know what happened happened and that it could not have happened in any other way".

Yeah. The CEO of EA, who promised to put 500 people to work in Montreal changed his mind, I guess. Unless, his vision is to create another studio over there.

Jay's a writer on the game.
On a related tangent, I remember Jay being the first person (certainly one of the first) to tweet about the game, years ago. I think he was the one who coined "#SecretIP".

Seems to make sense. Austin already has significant experience with keeping large MMO alive - Anthem may not be one, but it appears to be a project which will be updated and expanded over course of years, unlike other Bioware titles that get a relatively short period of support after launch, and after it passes (and all additional content is released) they move to another project or installment.
