I just came across a statement from EA Motive’s studio producer, David Robillard that the solo campaign for SW BF II will be 6-7 hours long. "...we wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out...".
Given Anthem's 1st trailer that focused on co-op but one that "you can play solo", raises flags in my mind. The reported thought that a SP length of 5-7 hrs is decent. Fans of Bio games, I'm sure, would scream at this butchery. "not have it be drawn out" is classic misdirection. It's MTs EA is after, imo.

Well, I looked up a few and Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and Halo 3 all had single-player campaigns that come in under 10 hours, so this is pretty standard for shooters. -(_ANTHEM_)-
Hm... Anthem looks less interesting, now. Haven't played MEAMP in three weeks. Even when I do, I play 2-3 missions then I'm out. APEX missions+description holds no interest. I hope Anthem has no APEX similarities. (🌸=◡=)

The point is, some people still believe SP (even if it is part of already declared MP game) from BW can not be anything but a full SP game - tens of hours. And this is the main reason many here are screaming "give Anthem a chance! This is BW! Sure there will be big SP game with companions!". Here goes hopes of some. |

As far as we know, Anthem has a full writing team behind it headed by Drew. I’m very skeptical that they would turn out a short minimalist SP campaign with all those resources. |

5-7 hours is a pretty normal length for SP shooter campaign isn’t it? -(_ANTHEM_)-
My experience is RPG themed SP campaigns. 5-7 hours is bollocks from my viewpoint. Obviously when I first heard SW BF II had a solo campaign, I thought 30-40+ hours. A single digit campaign length took me by surprise.

10 hours give or take is normal for a shooter SP campaign. These games are made for MP. Join a group of people who play shooters and announce you bought shooter XY for SP. There will be "WTF?" responses. |

Regarding microtransactions, Brenon Holmes (creative director on Anthem) posted this on Reddit. “I hear you. We're talking a fair bit about this at the moment. I can't really talk about it too much, but it's an ongoing discussion. And if it helps at all, we're gamers too. A bunch of folks on the team have similar positions on monetization... so that perspective is definitely represented.” He also elsewhere says that’s Heir was never on the Anthem team and wouldn’t have been in the loop on plans for that project. |
