On the other hand, I believe DA:I was generally well received as well as Bioware's best-selling game to date, while ME:A appears to have killed its own sequel. I would imagine there is some pressure for a Dragon Age sequel soon. Even if DA4 releases in 2019, that would still be five years after the previous game. If it comes out in 2020, it would have the longest development cycle of any Bioware sequel ever, not to mention that Bioware was much busier in 2009-2012, back when two Dragon Age games, two Mass Effect games, and The Old Republic were released.

Counterargument to my own counterargument: if Anthem doesn't meet expectations, then DA will become Bioware's flagship franchise by default. However, they seem extremely confident in this new game, so if it is even moderately successful I could see them putting everything else in the back burner.

Probably a good time to add the usual disclaimer when watching a demo for a game this far out from release...

As most I'm sure are aware, it'll very likely be a demo created specifically for E3, showing what they hope the final game will be like.

There may be gameplay elements that don't make it into final game. There may be an overall level of graphic fidelity that doesn't make it into the final game.

If you see something in their demo that you really like - let them know. Tweet the official Twitter, Jonathan Warner, etc. Don't assume it'll be in the game just because they showed it off here. At least that way, if enough people chime in, that particular feature might get prioritized when the inevitable cuts begin. And same if you see something you don't like. Just try to be polite and if you can explain why you feel it doesn't work for the game - all the better.

Although I think they said they were skipping E3, it'd be great if we saw some RDR2 gameplay. More Tomb Raider? And though I'd expect Beth to announce it if it was happening, SP Doom DLC! Something new & interesting on the Indie front?

Apparantly they might also show some Assassin's Creed: Origins, which is supposed to be good.

Also, that pirate game they have, Sea of Thieves. I used to love playing Sid Meier's Pirates, Sea Dogs and stuff like that. MS is making a cartoony one with walking skeletons and zombies, but who knows...

I guess I imagined people blowing things out of massive proportions with ME:A because of few reasons I pointed out.
Oh and I guess I imagined people loving DA:I until after TW3 was released.
And I also probably imagined there was a backlash of too many open world games being released from both indie devs and major publishers.

I agree that the collapse of the ME franchise has now put a heavy revenue burden on the DA franchise, but that's nothing compared to the burden on Anthem. Which is rarely a good thing for a brand new IP.
