From your (steel) lips to the Maker's ear. I agree that the collapse of the ME franchise has now put a heavy revenue burden on the DA franchise, but that's nothing compared to the burden on Anthem. Which is rarely a good thing for a brand new IP. Mass Effect franchise had collapsed? That's news to me. Jesus, BSN never changed. This franchise has collapsed since ME2 days, yet here we are. |

Probably a good time to add the usual disclaimer when watching a demo for a game this far out from release... As most I'm sure are aware, it'll very likely be a demo created specifically for E3, showing what they hope the final game will be like. There may be gameplay elements that don't make it into final game. There may be an overall level of graphic fidelity that doesn't make it into the final game. If you see something in their demo that you really like - let them know. Tweet the official Twitter, Jonathan Warner, etc. Don't assume it'll be in the game just because they showed it off here. At least that way, if enough people chime in, that particular feature might get prioritized when the inevitable cuts begin. And same if you see something you don't like. Just try to be polite  and if you can explain why you feel it doesn't work for the game - all the better. It doesn't work that way or shouldn't. This mentality for this day and age is like a plague. Not everybody are Ubisoft, you know? It used to be like "if its not in pre-afla it will be in final product" Hell, even recent AAA games like Witcher 3, Horizon or Uncharted 4 looked better when they came out. I can understand caution, but i think you are being paranoid. I have NEVER saw a game, that cut something from its gameplay mechanics. This happening in pre-production state when "prototypes" are being made.  There might be visual downgrade if something goes wrong, then it is possible, but if a production will go well. It will be only better |

I wish I could took reality as selective as you do. Must be so comfortable to live in your own dream world and actually believe that stuff. I guess I imagined people blowing things out of massive proportions with ME:A because of few reasons I pointed out. Oh and I guess I imagined people loving DA:I until after TW3 was released. And I also probably imagined there was a backlash of too many open world games being released from both indie devs and major publishers. You forgot "open-world burnout". As a counter-point, Horizon: Zero Dawn, an uncompromisingly open-world game, has sold over 3 million units worldwide. And it's a platform exclusive. Hard to see how they could achieve those numbers if there's all this open-world burnout in the market. |

So much post-collapse SF action out there, from Doom to HZD. Why? Why?! Is that the only genre people will buy? Heh... yeah, that image also made me think HZD. It doesn't bother me though - honestly, at this point I'm just happy it's not just another empty wasteland. And if they can come anywhere near this fidelity in the final, all the better. I'm just gonna wait and see what the actual game is like... |

Oh and I guess I imagined people loving DA:I until after TW3 was released. DA:I had an (undeservedly) good reception. Again, it was Bioware's best-selling game to date and GotY to boot. You seem to be suggesting that public opinion turned against it at some point, which I don't remember happening. To this day, you can take a look at these boards and most people like the game, even if they recognize its flaws. TW3 definitely overshadowed DA:I and the hype took little time to transition from one game to the other, but that's hardly the same as people turning against Inquisition all of a sudden. I would suggest that maybe it is not that a wave of hate materialized out of thin air, but that those that did not like DA:I got a popular alternative to compare it to. Bioware has been a controversial developer ever since DA2, but DA:I has been their most indisputably successful title since then. |

Also this same gaming press criticised Bioware for releasing a patch fixing facial animations, which pirates won't be able to access. Yes, that's the level of quality of gaming press we have. |
