Isn't killing lots of kett and raiders badass in of itself? Exactly. And you do it alot. Why cant your personality reflect that ? I would prefer diffrent means of resolution myself. Ive played the soldier gal in MET and would be open to more nuanced approaches. Being the explorer type who has to kil someone here and there to protect herself/ savesomeone else would have been good enough for me. But if youre gonna give me a game full of pewpew then let me be that gal who can smile in her shower as she washes all that blood at the end of the day. I find it way more troubling to pretend to be the new kid in town while my kill score approaches that of a Spectre.Yep the gameplay and the narrative are constantly at odds with each other over this. The narrative tells us that Ryder is a young wide eyed greenhorn with, at best, limited combat experience. The gameplay on the other hand shows Ryder being some kind of warfare prodigy and the open class system makes Ryder the most badass warrior to have ever strapped on armor with the ability to master not just all combat skills, but also all biotic and all tech powers simultaneously. From a gameplay perspective Ryder is far more badass than Shepard ever could have dreamed of being. Aside from changing the story there isn't any real way to solve this since BW, for whatever reason, feels that they NEEDED to have such a heavy emphasis on the shooter part of the game because they felt like they NEEDED to have a tacked on multi-player component. I disagree with that "need" but there it is. For the narrative they were pushing a game focused much more heavily on exploration and discovery instead of combat would have served them far better. At the very least I personally think the Kett shouldn't even have been in the game. It destroys that new kid jumping into the explorer role feel of the game. There should have been a much larger and more varied presence of wildlife threats on the worlds as your main focus for pew-pewing stuff. Used the Roekar, or whatever they were called, as sort of your antagonist, a few outposts of exiles here and there. The Kett at best should have been a looming threat instead of an endless horde of Trooper #212342343 to be mowed down with wild abandon. There is just way too much of an emphasis on combat in the game to sell the explorer atmosphere of the narrative.

I admit - sometimes I want a renegate option to tell people to get out of my way or simply kill them... so cool. But maybe that's what makes the game mature and not another kindergarden fantasy wonderland where everyone wants to be Superman (or Shepard...)? Hmmm... sometimes I have to smile stupitly, cringe inside and deal with it or find a way around (probably most of the time in RL)... even IF I actually want to kill somebody. Well... I guess I'm a weird person and that's why I can deal with all the logical, professional, casual and emotioanal answers - and enjoy them. It would have been boring if Andromeda would have been just another military fantasy with a Shepard clone who can solve anything because he is such a cool military bro (well, almost... doesn't help him in ME3) It's probably more mature then BW where given credit for... not just to be a "cool bro" and shoot first, ask later - but that's just my HO of course. And maybe people wants to be at least "badass" in a game because in RL they maybe are just a "kissass". It helps compensating. I'ts not about being cool. Sometimes you just have to say no or punch someone in the face. That's life, not every problem can be resolved peacefully. Where do you live? I'll make sure not to go there.

Maybe I remember it wrong, but I thought they said they'd release patches throughout the "next two months" and listed a lot of major fixes they were working on, but of course there are minor fixes they are working on as well and surely they could have released at least a hotfix for issues that came with 1.05 by now. When I read their post a month ago, I didn't think they'd only release a patch when they were ready to deliver everything they promised.

Today marks exactly 4 weeks since the 'Journey Ahead' post, and this Thursday it'll be 4 weeks since Patch 1.05 dropped.
I honestly expected there to be one this week focussed on bugfixing, followed by another in a month's time for the character creator, m/m romance, etc.
Maybe it'll drop with no prior warning - remember when the Jaws of Hakkon DLC for DAI was announced? 'Coming Tomorrow'

'Coming Tomorrow' Yeah, good point. Also, there's the new items for the deluxe edition coming sometime this month, so seeing how they're making these patches really major, they'll probably be released together. I actually think these new items and whatever are gonna be released as the first paid dlc for people who don't have the deluxe edition as well.

I mean just drop a bug fix patch, and then drop the new features/improvement patch later. I want to play the game again, but i know there are bugs that is stopping New game plus from functioning as it should.

Considering 1.05 broke my game on PC, and the game of 100s on their own tech forums that they don't reply to, I find it shocking they haven't provided some timeline for fixing problems they created.

YEah I admit, I am surprised that both bioware and Ea and remarkably silent about it, maybe they are preparing a behemoth of patch and its going to take a long time to be ready, I would rather get a functionning patch later than than a buggy one right now, but it really looks like they are going to release something big.

Think my patience was pretty much up today. Been a month since the last patch, was actually kinda surprised we didn't get one today. In any case they are just taking way too long, finally took MEA off the HDD today. Whatever they got coming its too little too late. They really needed to push out the priority fixes when they were ready for the more damning bugs and issues over the last couple weeks.

Or at least communicate with the player base in some fashion that they were still working on anything for this game. At this point I don't think I've even seen anything confirming there will be DLC for MEA. With the MET, I had reasonable assumption that it was coming based on previous games. Not sure that really applies to MEA.

Yeah, and it also costs them a fee just to publish a game on consoles, unlike on PC, yet the big publishers decided a few years back to charge all the platforms the same price. That was pretty slick of them... I could be wrong but I think Sony/Microsoft have dropped the patch fee this generation???........which would explain the general state of released games these day's.PC is different though,as no one own the PC platform,so developers are able to offer hot fixes and patches ASAP. They may have. I haven't considered the correlation, but that's a good point. There's another fee though, unless they've changed it. The pubs gotta pay to get the game certified I think.

When I read their post a month ago, I didn't think they'd only release a patch when they were ready to deliver everything they promised. When I posed a specific question to Ian Frazier concerning some balance issues, Ian responded that many game fixes were in the works. He said that some stuff would possibly be released earlier, in order to get it to us ASAP. If that happened, the rest would be released in a larger, later patch or patches. Bioware said that they'd be working on their list over the next two months, about one month ago. They never said anything about releasing constant patches throughout that period. That would honestly be inefficient, due to business hurdles. I, too, would love to have the patched content now; but we just have to wait until it's ready. It could come out in several patches in the coming weeks; or it could be another month before we get anything.

The Kett at best should have been a looming threat instead of an endless horde of Trooper #212342343 to be mowed down with wild abandon. There is just way too much of an emphasis on combat in the game to sell the explorer atmosphere of the narrative. Actually they solved it. They did that through SAM who is the real hero of the game. He's the reason why Ryder can fight like that (profiles) and why he\she can control the Remnant consoles which is pretty much everythin you do in this game in terms of gameplay. They even gave us a moment when Ryder rises above and becomes the true hero by the end of the game, when you get separated from SAM for a while and struggle with one of the Remnant consoles. Suddenly there is "I don't know how I'm doing it, but I can control them without SAM" moment and "interacting with the Remnant hurts you!" thing. So it is solved. Ryder is a "nobody" who gets special AI powers and stays a "nobody" until the end of the game when he\she becomes "somebody" because reasons. I agree that it would work way better if there were no Kett in the game or if they weren't just a race of villains.

For some reason I have a feeling it'll be a while. Something seems to be up because BioWare has gone all silent on many fronts on social media. First patch happened after 2 weeks but it's been like 3-4 weeks now. Could be because some of the leads have had their vacation just recently too. Who knows? I think they might decide to release something for this month, otherwise I doubt they will in the month of June.

Maybe. As long as the 6 people on the "Digital Acting" team have worked their asses off I can hope. Well see, I think BioWare already know that this time they cannot f up again. And I fear this means they'll cut down too hard or in the wrong areas. Some over at GAF suggested that the SP is so busted now that they'd better cut their losses and make an MP-only game. Or, like in ME1 some of the features that were heavily criticised (the Mako and elevators) made BioWare so timid that they cut those features rather than trying to make them better. For what we know they could remove the dialogue system next or they could make it too linear.
