At the very least I personally think the Kett shouldn't even have been in the game. It destroys that new kid jumping into the explorer role feel of the game. There should have been a much larger and more varied presence of wildlife threats on the worlds as your main focus for pew-pewing stuff. Used the Roekar, or whatever they were called, as sort of your antagonist, a few outposts of exiles here and there. The Kett at best should have been a looming threat instead of an endless horde of Trooper #212342343 to be mowed down with wild abandon. There is just way too much of an emphasis on combat in the game to sell the explorer atmosphere of the narrative. I don't really mind the kett but I wish there was more dangerous wildlife for you to encounter. All there is now is the occasional eiroch or fiend but they are few and too far between. How about a space dragon, a giant space t-rex, stuff like that. Make them huge and powerful and have them rest in lairs where they occasionally respawn like how dragons worked in skyrims. Now that would have been fun. Make them really OP too but make them give some sick loot so it's a real struggle to take them down and you need a min maxed build to do so. I would have enjoyed stuff like that. The roaming dinosaurs that do exist are pretty lame since they die very fast even on insanity and they seem to have no ability to actually kill you. The open worlds are simply a bit too empty. They need more dangerous creatures.

Well see, I think BioWare already know that this time they cannot f up again. And I fear this means they'll cut down too hard or in the wrong areas. Some over at GAF suggested that the SP is so busted now that they'd better cut their losses and make an MP-only game. Or, like in ME1 some of the features that were heavily criticised (the Mako and elevators) made BioWare so timid that they cut those features rather than trying to make them better. For what we know they could remove the dialogue system next or they could make it too linear. Or maybe they need to hire right people to do the right job. Sorry, but BioWare knows how to make good games; let's forgot about trilogy, cause most of the people involved left after ME3. Let's look at DAI - which I loved and hated at the same the for many different reasons. Much better game than MEA - great soundtrack, great companions, very interesting plot, a lot of good side-quest, some really well done personal missions. Of course also a lot of disappointment cause of big, empty maps, a lot of fetch quests etc. - but it's hard to make a game which suits everyone. But still VERY solid title. And now we have MEA - "busted". They need to re-think where they are at the moment, and where they want to go with it. Next patch and SP DLC could be a first good step in the right direction, but they really need to work hard to get so many disappointed people back to MEA. It's up to them right now.

Apparently they'll finally be discussing MP balance changes in Friday's MP livestream, so I'd imagine the patch is indeed pretty close.
They've refused to discuss MP balance every week so far as they wanted time to make the changes meaningful rather than kneejerk reactions, and while I doubt they'd use said stream to say 'surprise! it's dropping today!', I'd hazard a guess at next week maybe?

Step 1 : Fire the writers. They are hitting at waaaaaay above their weight class. Technically, sure they're good writers. Emotionally, they might as well be an 89 lbs scrub locked in a cage fight with an 800 lbs gorilla called ME. Sure, they can can take a swing, but as soon as one of those ineffectual punches lands, that gorilla is gonna sit on top of him, rip off his arms, and then beat him to death with them.

Yeah, a lot of people already lost interest on Andromeda. Quite a lot people still involved are discussing MEA here on BSN, but elsewhere i can see that topics about MEA are almost dead - and we are talking about the game which was released 5 weeks ago !

Yeah, it's teenybopper badness.
They need to un-joke their writing.
Especially the dialogue. It's terrible.

Holding off on my next PT until the next patch is released and fixes some of the bugs I've encountered. I was just starting to wonder when the next patch was coming as well, so I could do another PT without any bugs. Looks like after release fixing on this one is about as important to them as ME3's was.

Oh well, according to Ian Frazier we will probably have to wait bit longer for next update.
And another bad news: CPY just managed to crack MEA newest Denuvo version, so they got patch 1.05 available. I think it will be fair to remove Denuvo from MEA, as the only people who will suffer now - are we, honest buyers.

Oh well, according to Ian Frazier we will probably have to wait bit longer for next update. Really? What did he say? The fact that they're discussing MP balance changes tomorrow makes me think that patch should be dropping next week, or in two weeks tops. Edit: On DRM, isn't it always that way? Most DRM games get cracked sooner than later, so in the end we "suffer" it, even if it's not really as intrusive as it used to be, and the worst drawback for pirates is that they have to wait for a longer time. The only thing we can do about it is to prioritize buying non-DRM versions of games, sadly, which is why I always try to buy from GOG when available.

Oh, Ian reply 7 hours ago to someone that he has nothing to share about next update. About DRM - I hate Denuvo, I always got the feeling my PC and especially my SSD drive is suffering greatly from that cr... Ok, it's cracked, so remove it BW please. I don't think at this point sales will drop because of that.

I don't think that necessarily means anything about the release date of the patch, they just don't like talking about specifics before everything is completely ready. For what it's worth, I find ther communication policy hasn't helped regarding the backlash they've been getting for ME:A. And I really really don't see EA taking the DRM away from ME:A, cracked or not.

Sweet Jesus. Even in a thread discussing the ETA of the next patch people will randomly start ranting about how awful they think the game is. Why don't you just stop playing and stop visiting the forums to talk about it? For the love of all that is good and holy, get over it and move on already.

But I haven't gotten the chance. Between it hogging 50-75% of my RAM (16GB), not showing Ryder in movie night, crashing to desktop, lagging out...etc I can't. I mean I think the writing was good, not up to OT standards, but then again the OT had some seriously WTF writing moments too over the course. The whole "LOOK AT LIARA YOU WANT TO LOVE HER!...oops you were nice to her, you're in a romance now!" is a good example. But that's why I try my best to not compare it directly while I TRY to play it. I have a brand new rig arriving today, and with the complete radio silence from BW and the bugs in my game...I'm more excited to play Dishonored 2 and Prey with it. Which sucks, because I was so excited about MEA at launch. I got the t-shirt, the hoodie, the pop figures, the guide book...then I tried to play it. I think if They'd fix it, make it playable...people might ease up on the criticisms of the game itself. But right now, we have a bunch of frustrated, disappointed players facing bugs, and crashes, and glitches that don't allow for relaxing and enjoying it. I'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I would have enjoyed stuff like that. The roaming dinosaurs that do exist are pretty lame since they die very fast even on insanity and they seem to have no ability to actually kill you. The open worlds are simply a bit too empty. They need more dangerous creatures. Hopefully a lot of games learn from Horizon Zero Dawn's use of enemies at least by having more enemies as mini bosses in an open world. Also what made Witcher 3 so good. All the harder mini bosses and hunts made the simplistic combat fun

I've owned the game for about 6 months but never got to playing it for more than the first 2 hours or so. If it's anything like most open world rpg's im sure it takes more than a couple of hours to really start shining.
