So... where's all the non-helmet headgear?
They still exist in the game, just none for the PC this time around which is strange. Naturally all the headgear in the game is part of a set, but I don't quite understand why individual unique items aren't in the R&D section too.
Hell one NPC even wears a cowboy hat. Not my thing, but some Ryders would look pretty damn slick in battle armour and a stetson.

That cowboy hat caught me by surprise. I think that up until space cowgirl showed up, Joker was the only character I could recall that actually wore regular headwear. Visors would be cool, preferably if there's more of a perk to them other than just +3% tech damage or something, like being able to see enemy signatures through walls, similar to the Nomad's enemy detection.

I'm sure we'll get plenty of DLC for it.

The cowgirl was a random shock for sure, I was like wtf?
However, for Ryder...what point would the visor serve? With the Almighty SAM in your head, it already does everything the visor would.

True, to a large extent. Some visors presumably offer increased visual acuity, though, which is something only cybernetic eyes could otherwise offer. Plus, they just look cool. I hadn't noticed their absence, until it was pointed out in this thread. Cool visors equipment of any kind is always welcome, though.

Id rather them add in decent hair and facial hair (and well...faces) as options before visors and hats though.

I was so jealous of Garrus in ME 1 and then in ME 2 I could get my own visor and between DLC and ME 3 I was able to get plenty. But here comes MEA and bioware took them away again. In fact all of the gear that was available in ME 2 was in ME 3. Why couldn't that stuff be available for MEA? I want my visors, powerwheel, and squad control back bioware.

I used the heck out of the different headgears in ME2; I used the hood in the heist with Kasumi; I had the single eye visor I used most of the time; I wish I would have had some hats to choose from.
All my Ryder ever wore was his helmet; whether he needed it or not.

What's odd is that there's bunch of NPCs in-game using visors.
It's like these background characters get all of the customization options.

If some random npc can get a cowboy hat, Ryder can get a Tam o' Shanter. He's called Scott - it's fate.

I know everyone feels differently but I'm glad they're gone. Running around on hostile planets with a visor is just dumb.
Now if only my teammates would wear sealed kits...

I'm sure (hope) visors will return in DLC of some sort.
I'd genuinely love a cowboy hat for my Ryder too. I'm pathfinder, I should be able to 'commandeer' it from that NPC.

Lol, one person with a specific appearance (The Cowgirl NPC) reminds me of TES IV: Oblivion. I've been modding that game recently and if you dig deeper into the files you'll notice that the Deadric Prince Sheogorath has a special folder of his own. All the other textures and meshes are placed in common folders. That's probably because he literally is the only character in the game with a full grown beard so they had to model that specifically for him. So having one character wearing something extremely specific without it reoccuring anywhere else in the game reminded me of him. (Although the cowgirl is nowhere near as important for the game as he is. He is the main character of the Shivering Isles DLC.)
About visors, I agree that it's strange Ryder can't wear any. Not that I liked them in the OT but still, the textures are there because NPC's use them so Ryder should be able to as well. Maybe in a future patch or DLC I suppose.
