I see no reason why there might not be a little city hub out there in "our world" where Freelancers can gather to have dance parties or whatever other social stuff they wanna do. As an optional place to go to, that doesn't affect Fort Tarsis and "your world".
There's a technical reason they can't do that -- instances are capped at 4 players.
Now, that said, if their longer term plans include, say, raids with multiple squads cooperating, they will have to raise the cap on the number of players in an instance. That would then enable a social hub like what you describe.
In any case, as long as I can avoid it, that's fine with me. Social hubs are anti-social hubs, as far as I'm concerned.

Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!

Why would they be capped to 4 in a hub. It's no technical reason to limit to 4 it's a design limit.
Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age Inquisition, Jade Empire, Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, Mass Effect Legendary Edition

My guess is because the world itself operates on dedicated servers, which could limit the amount of available bandwidth they can work with (compared to peer-to-peer connections).

Battlefield can have like what? 32? 64? players on a server. The engine can field it.

But I would imagine that Anthems map is significantly larger than any one Battlefield map. Then again, I'm not truly an expert on networking. Just giving my own assumptions.

Ye, but a niteclub as hub needn't be on the open map.
It is nice, but that video from xXTONYGUNZXx is absolutely an NDA breach straight from the Closed Alpha, even if, as they claim, they didn't sign an NDA themselves and 'found it' on the internet. My expectations that it'll continue to be viewable for long are low.

The 4 player limit is not a law of physics. The social hub can be an instance with a higher cap. It's whatever they want it to be.

Given what we've seen from the others, I'm surprised he was allowed to show this one...

They just haven't noticed it yet. That is pure straight NDA'd alpha footage. His watermark is on it and everything. He just doesn't care apparently.

Nice, looking forward to this video. Not sure what else they can show cause the VIP demo, Demo, and the release date is just around the corner. Just realized that this live stream is on the same day as Mortal Kombat 11 live stream
Chris "Season Free" Anderson @postmodernlocke For those of you who have been wondering about this kind of thing for #AnthemGame...
So if you have Origin Access Premier, you should now be able to add the game to your library. I think this also applies to Origin Access, but I haven't confirmed yet.
Chris "Season Free" Anderson @postmodernlocke I've always been a big fan of dark, subtle suits with a hit of flash on them. What do you think? #AnthemGame
