The game is not enormous. It's not really a problem, sometimes a smaller more focused open world is more fun. Of course we are getting region expansions ... the map is pretty small. Those expansions don't count yet though.
The size of the map will come up in criticism of the game. Give it a couple weeks after launch, might not even take long.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. The size of the map is very disappointing for what's possible in this day and age, and there does seem to be a lack of content as a whole at launch. That said, the visuals, movement and combat are all amazing and so is the customization system.
but we don't know how big the map is yet, or if there's any other planets or areas.

Nevermind that this is not a flat plain - the ability to fly opens up the map vertically (the 'elevators' we can see in promo materials or Game Changers footage were shut down for the demo) so the whole attempt to try and gauge the area's size and compare it to other maps in other games seems futile.

Michael Gamble @gamblemike The @anthemgame demos have officially completed. This has been an incredible experience for the team. We're humbled by the outpouring of support for the game, and have also learned a lot. We're on top of the fixes for you. Be vigilant Freelancer, Fort Tarsis will need you soon.
Michael Gamble @gamblemike Enjoy the ash titans and the rest of the demo weekend! More on what this all means very soon 😎
What does this mean, extended demo? Open Demo 2 next weekend?
Or buy the game and come back on the 22nd?
Soon, I guess.
No, I think we can expect more information on endgame Eldergame and potentially what Cataclysm/Shaper Storms are very soon from now. Probably part 2 of this official video series:

There's no other planet, it's not Mass Effect. And no other areas than the ones seen in the map.
Michael Gamble @gamblemike A couple people asked so I’m going to clarify. That thing today was shaper technology STARTING to go off the rails. Weird things pop up, more dangerous creatures fill the lands...but oh...oh no, that was not the worst it gets.

We actually do know there exist areas beyond the current map - like the Heart of Rage/previous location of Freemark, that AFAIK lays beyond the western side of Northern Bastion.
And you are right that Anthem is no Mass Effect... and by that, I mean that more is possible within Anthem universe. Dimension/Universe hopping appears to be possible with Anthem Of Creation, so I wouldn't be surprised if we actually DID land even on one of the planets from Mass Effect universe at some point, lol.

So, would anyone please tweet a question for me (or maybe explain it his/her/itself?
Lightning strike and ice spear says they are "chain combo's" what exactly does this mean? How does one "chain".
They are abilities, a combo is when you detonate a status effect (ability that "primes") with a power that can "detonate". They both seem to be detonators that can set off combos.
Now Storm can spread the elemental effect with combo detonations. So maybe if you can set those off with another cast of a detonator means to "chain" combos.

So then basically every storm detonator is a chain combo?
Interesting prenotion: say you prime one enemy in the group. Detonation with lightning strike. Now, does it perform one combo and then spread the effect? Or does it first spread the effect and then perform combo's on multiple enemies?
Probably the first. This does give me an idea for my current build, in that I should make the lightning strike cooldown as short as possible: If you can prime one enemy, lightning strike in a group for spreading the priming amongst them, if you were to get your lightning strike down to a couple seconds and immediately do it again, you'd create a plethora of combo explosions...
Also, this gives me the idea that at short range, a good combat strategy is to prime, melee detonate and immediately lightning strike (and not prime, LS and melee, as I was doing...).

Based on what? The demo, which severely limited the explorable area? On vids, that regularly ignored verticality of spaces?
We've barely scratched the surface, of both the map and the content.
EDIT: And now I see /thread said the same thing. This is just a +1.

Yeah, it's funny:
BioWare: "This is an intentionally truncated, vertical slice of an old build that gives you no story beats, no bells and whistles, and limits accessibility to portions of the map"

I saw a guy commenting being disappointed for not getting plant scale open world. I dont know where he got that from but there seem to be a couple of misconceptions around.
I wasn't sure if the Matthias bit was main story or not myself.

I think a lot of people went in to the demo blind despite BioWare's repeated attempts to inform them of what to expect so you'll get the occasional "wow, that's it...this story is weak" but, apart from the usual "EA is evil" post-spamming, there was a lot of positive reaction to actually being able to try out all the Javelin's and getting a chance to play with customization options.
As for Matthias, I think it was part of faction narrative but I could be wrong. I just get the feeling BioWare is doing it's best to protect the main story as best it can before launch so, in the demo, it gave a taste of the side characters, some of the dialogue systems, and a fun mission with some humor that showed what some mission arcs could be like in the game that. at teh same time, gave nothing away.
Jesse Anderson @darokaz I really hope everyone had a great time playing the #AnthemGame demo this past weekend! Early access is coming up in 11 days and I cannot wait to talk with you all about the story, end game builds and so much more.

Michael Gamble @gamblemike Hey y’all. When you were getting audio cutout on the demo this weekend, was there any particular circumstance that you noticed it happening ?

Whoa, didn't see that one coming...(maybe I should have). That won't hurt launch sales figures.

For me … no. I lost sound in the Stronghold mission once, I lost it a few times in various "world" events and I lost it in at least two story missions.
I lost sound with at least three of the characters (Ranger, Storm and Colossus), can't swear that it happened with the fourth (Interceptor).
Pretty sure factions didn't matter, lost it with outlaws and Scars … can't say for sure if I lost it with Dominion or not.
In at least one of the missions (a world mission), nothing dramatic was going on at the time, it was fairly quiet … then it got REALLY quiet.
i came across a weird bug over the weekend. was in the strong hold, and i was behind a wall and the turret in front of me was still hitting me. it was the only one left that was shooting at me. i moved to a different wall, and i was still getting hit by the same turret.
Emily (aka Domino) Taylor pentapod Dear computer game players who prefer to play solo, not co-op/multiplayer ... why do you prefer to play alone? What prevents you from trying multiplayer games? (As someone who's gameplay has been very MMO-focused, I'm curious!)
