It's my understanding that this won't be possible because you can't 'pay for power'.
Crafting materials (I think) can be purchased with COIN only, and a limited amount at that.

I edited it to mean 'textures' - I don't mean crafting materials per se, but materials like fabrics or metals we can customize our Javelins looks with. Unless something changes we did see on a leaked screenshot that we'd be able to buy those for relatively cheap compared to armor sets

In what sense? The demo has ended less than 2 days ago. The devs keep engaging with the community on twitter or reddit on a daily basis.
I just don't see Hrungr posting as much as they used to the past few days. Something inciteful is more to what I'm looking for. I kinda want to see how much they've rebalanced since the demo. I've seen some of the changes they've made towards the Interceptors abilities, but it would be nice to see what also changed with other abilities/javelins/weapons/etc. I'm also hoping for another "This is Anthem" video this week.

They've been posting, but a lot it is just repeating the same info over and over. I'll dip a toe into Reddit to see if anything new has popped up.

There's quite a bit of info, but a lot of it is spread around all those tiny comments in responses to the community. And there was quite a bit of info and videos made by Game Changers about differences between demo and main game during open demo time this weekend - but I don't think we'd see how they balanced the full release build before we get to play it at 15th Feb and then 22nd.
And Mike Gamble teased that the video is coming soon a day or two ago.

You don't have to. I think I've just gotten so used to checking my phone every hour for an update that it's just strange I don't see your username pop up when I look at this thread
Anyone thinks that this game needs a shoulder switch mechanic.
It was brought by some people on Twitter and Ben said that, since the game was not a cover shooter, it wasn't really wasn't something they were looking to implement. If enough people voice their support for it, maybe they add it later.

The biggest issue would be which controller button you'd map it to, I would have thought...
I wasn't seeing much use of soft cover in the demo.

Hm....
1- Q3 revenue down, as I expected.
2- Excited about Apex but not Anthem.... I'm holding my breath
3- deep-lineup of new experiences .... nah.. I'm not going to say it.

We know you're not excited about Anthem but EA and apparently the gamers are...
"Millions of fans played more than 40 million hours of Anthem in our recent demos, and we’re very pleased to see the excitement in retail and digital channels reaching higher-than-expected levels"

That was a not so subtle cherry picking Sartoz. I am not a english native but even then it is very obvious the text is listing the products EA is excited to bring in the next quarter.
And whilst it's not Anthem related, "prioritizing [Battlefield V's ]single-player campaign over battle royale also hurt sales."
So EA's takeaway from BV: Single player content: bad. Battle Royale: good.
I'd say the pressure to add PVP to Anthem will only increase then. Actually, stick Battle Royal into Dragon Age 4, that could be more likely too.
{Note: I think EA might have misread what cost Battlefield V sales)

Not going to lie. Anthem's flying system is way to good for them to pass out a chance to make some sort of air race competition. But pew pew between players i can't se it happening soon.
Well that sounds a bit too optimistic. Especially for a new IP in a crowded time slot.
"Anthem" will be basically on it's own until 03/15/2019, when "The Division 2" comes out. Do you think "Far Cry New Dawn" or "Crackdown 3" will be heavy competition? "Metro:Exodus"? "Dead or Alive 6"?
Games make their biggest chunk of sales within the first 3-6 weeks of release and they will have almost 4 weeks to themselves. I really think the only thing that could derail it is if there are low review scores, tech issues at launch that make the game unplayable, or MTX controversies.
Could it flop? Sure, but it's set up quite nicely to succeed.
