in SP games, using the Frostbite engine, complete game sound loss rarely hits. Less than 5 times across 8 runs in DAI SP. Happened way more for me in DAI SP. Maybe every 10 to 20 hours, so several times a run. Was a PITA when recording vids for YT. On the other hand, I don’t recall it happening even once for MEA SP. Go figure. Folks I played MP with, we used to joke that Paradox was the map where game sounds went to die.
On the other hand, the time I lost game sound three times in the same match was on Ice Breaker …
That was back before you reclaimed the XP if you rejoined the match in progress.
Another time, three of the four players lost sound in the same match …
Almost like it was infectious.
They must not keep developer notes for their games … they should have learned from MEA, but seems they didn't.

Geforce experience, a most useless piece of software. I still don't know why it keeps trying to lower my settings or games despite having a PC capable of running them on ultra with no problem...

What do you mean by sound was generally awful? Sound is never awful for me in MEA and the only sound bug I have ever experienced is in a conversation between Jaal and Cora in the Nomad re AI.

If you are seeing performance degredation on PC after the patch, take a look at this post: www.reddit.com/r/AnthemTheGame/comments/at0e7h/i_fixed_the_fps_drops_in_anthem/ … YMMV but it may help. in your audio drivers UI or whatever it is you have, change the default format to 24bits 44100hz(studio quality) (edit3 you can drop it to 16bit 44100) mine was previously set to 96000. i had audio stutters during loading and other weird stuff. might also fix audio drop out. had no issue with audio at all since i changed it. I did set my audio to 24bits - 44100hz and not a single audio issue tonight. I did have it at 24bits - 96000hz originally.

What do you mean by sound was generally awful? Stuff like not being able to hear people talking when standing behind me, spotty sound effects (though that might be part of the bug), etc.

You mean from DAI, cause they already had the bug in it from what I've read In DAI SP … absolutely. I didn't play DAI MP, but others have reported it, so I'm confident that it exists …
I didn't comment on DAIMP sound bug … because I had no personal experience with it and my other comments were based on my own experiences.

Clear @clearvue11 @gamblemike @biomarkdarrah is there any plan on adding a death waypoint so when you die while playing Solo Freeplay and you’re doing a world event by yourself, then respawn, you know where you died and aren’t completely lost? This would be a very nice addition

My perception of it, if an NPC was not within a certain cone (+/- 45 degrees?) that Ryder was facing, the NPC conversation was greatly muted.
There are cutscenes where the conversation is almost unintelligible because Ryder is not facing the right direction. The botanist on the Nexus is one example … conversations after Ryder completes the quest. I thought it was more a game design issue than a game engine issue … maybe a bit of both?
I assumed it was a poor attempt at modifying sound volume, to simulate being close or less close to someone while they were speaking … trying to add realism to the game. So … good idea, poorly executed.
An example of where reducing volume to simulate distance didn't work … the human male engineer in MEAMP … you can hear his comments full volume, regardless of where he is, relative to your character. He generally sounds like he's right next to you.

OMG, within the 2 hours i spent i die like 8 times on hard. Really need to gear up to kick some azz I can solo "normal" no problem but I kept dying on "Hard" during the final parts of the mission where the battle is most intense. I do public missions on "hard" to make sure I have a shot at the best loot and the three randoms I end up playing with have been surprisingly solid every time out.

Stuff like not being able to hear people talking when standing behind me, spotty sound effects (though that might be part of the bug), etc. What you said. My perception of it, if an NPC was not within a certain cone (+/- 45 degrees?) that Ryder was facing, the NPC conversation was greatly muted.
There are cutscenes where the conversation is almost unintelligible because Ryder is not facing the right direction. The botanist on the Nexus is one example … conversations after Ryder completes the quest. I thought it was more a game design issue than a game engine issue … maybe a bit of both?
I assumed it was a poor attempt at modifying sound volume, to simulate being close or less close to someone while they were speaking … trying to add realism to the game. So … good idea, poorly executed.
An example of where reducing volume to simulate distance didn't work … the human male engineer in MEAMP … you can hear his comments full volume, regardless of where he is, relative to your character. He generally sounds like he's right next to you.
I don't remember noticing that in MEA but it was very noticeable in Anthem. I've been complaining about it since the VIP demo. It's fine to modify volume by distance but it makes no sense to modify it based on what direction your character is facing!
