OMG, within the 2 hours i spent i die like 8 times on hard. Really need to gear up to kick some azz
I can solo "normal" no problem but I kept dying on "Hard" during the final parts of the mission where the battle is most intense.
I do public missions on "hard" to make sure I have a shot at the best loot and the three randoms I end up playing with have been surprisingly solid every time out.
Are you on PC, PS 4, or X1. If you're on PS 4 we can link up and reek havoc in Anthem.
In the way it was implemented, I agree. Part of why I'm not sure if it's a limitation in the Frostbite engine (the only tool available to them) or just an idea that was poorly executed. It annoyed me in MEA SP. Too many scenes or interactions with NPCs spoiled because of it.
The human male engineer aside, it was a minor annoyance in MP … probably more of a disappointment. Most of the other player character comments in MEAMP are lost … unless you get it just right, mostly the only ones you hear are your own character's comments.
I think we will miss a lot of conversations in Ft Tarsis or any other "SP" elements. And most of the comments made by other players' characters … I assume those will be lost too. I don't think the sound issues in Anthem will be any different than the sound issues in MEA. Same engine, same developer, same issues. I guess it's more a function of whether or not folks notice it in Anthem to the same degree (either more or less … depending on the individual) as MEA.
For me, the sound is important, I've put a lot of resources into quality sound emanating from my PC … so I tend to notice the sounds, because it is a priority for me. Music is nice (for me), but it often detracts (for me) from game sounds … so I dial back the sound track volume and keep voice and game sounds maxed. Personal preference, no more, no less.
But I notice when the game sounds don't work correctly … it really jumps out at me. Which is part of why I sound like I'm on an endless loop, complaining about the Frostbite sound issues. I'm guessing a lot of folks who've read my previous rants about the Frostbite sound bug are pretty tired of it.

I detect major cognitive dissonance with these Twitter accounts at BioWare central. The game bombed, they’re on full damage control. Nothing can stop the course of action EA is going to take. Based.

Benoit Houle @benoit_Houle Thanks Julian! Can't wait to spend many hours in Division 2
Frank Morissette @crimsonium Ah respect. Very classy on both sides. Makes me love these two studios even more. You don’t see another certain studio doing that huh? We won’t name names. ;-) Keep up the great, both of you.
Julian Gerighty @jgerighty Trust me - lots of support across all studios. Making games is not easy, making these types of games is even more challenging. I find mutual support essential.

Well, at least we can agree on the fact that the project is indeed ambitious So long as game has strong studio support, they'll pull this off. The majority, if not all games of this kind launch with problems or underwhelming reception and then they build themselves up. Stewing in development for too long is also not healthy - IMO better to finally have the launch over and show how well or quickly the game changes, or how it shapes around input of the wide playerbase.
