Nier:Automata? Undertale? Journey? LittleBigPlanet? Bayonetta? Katamari Damacy? BioShock? Papers, Please? Shadow of the Colossus?
Unless you mean all Bioware games have been derivative, in which case I might say Jade Empire, but that's borderline I admit.
While these are all great games, some are derivative in some way:
Nier = Drakengard + Devil May Cry
LBP = Minecraft, I guess?
Bayonetta = Devil May Cry
Bioshock = System Shock
My point is that being derivative doesn't make it automatically bad.
No, to all. I mean, sure, they fall into the same broad categories and styles (except LBP vs. Minecraft, not even close there, LBP is a platformer, not a sandbox), but that does not a derivative make. All of the games I listed did at least one important thing (whether gameplay, art style, story, etc.) that is widely recognized as being fresh and innovative.
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!
There's plenty of shooters that bomb, EA in particular had a lot of them in early days of desperate COD money-chase
Yet Destiny, Anthem's assumed competitor, despite complaints at it, has been massively popular. So much that we're getting Destiny 2 - and people are hyped for that too, from what I've seen. That folks now write that Anthem may be "Destiny 2 killer" means that people really bought the idea of similar game from Bioware. And so long as the game has content that will satisfy their more usual base and just release a good game all around, they actually do have a chance of living up to lofty aspiration of releasing the "Bob Dylan" of games.
“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”
I'm much less concerned about that. As long as Bioware is pulling it's top-line weight for EA, there's no reason to mess with DA. Arguably, ME trilogy was more successful financially than DA, but I don't think DA was forced to be more like ME. If anything, it was the other way around.
You don't think DAMP was inspired by ME3?
Or the more action-heavy "streamlined" combat system? Especially after DAO was a "get back to our roots" style RPG?
DAMP, yes, you're right, I forgot about that.
Action-heavy combat system I think was going to happen regardless, to broaden the base of the market. And I admit, following that logic to it's conclusion, there may be pressure to be more Anthem-like for the same reason.
Great, now you made me a little more concerned. Though, as was noted above, the influence might not be all that bad. I mean, wouldn't you want to be able to do swimming and underwater exploration DA4?

I don't see reasons to be concerned at this point. I mean... who wouldn't want to see DA with better combat? I didn't mind it as much as other folks, but I know people complained. MEA did well in that regard and Anthem seems to share the same DNA (with even more mobility it seems) so there's no reason to assume that just because ME and Anthem are predominantly shooters, they can't positively influence combat or other gameplay elements from Dragon Age.
I also wouldn't mind elements of live service in DA. How cool would it be if, for example, we had Fade section where we could encounter messages or ghosts of other players?

Why are we suddenly discussing DA as if it's future's at stake? As of now, there's no indication that there's any danger to the franchise or whatever direction BW would like to take it - and while bound by contracts, the devs keep winking at us faster than hummingbird's wings.
DA the franchise is not at stake. As such.
But if Anthem is going to be Bioware's big moneymaker now, then the pressure on Dragon Age (and Mass Effect) will likely be to become more LIKE Anthem.
Perhaps the multiplayer in DA4 will be even more integrated, that would be nice.

Corey Gaspur @cgaspur Lots of questions if Anthem demo was real gameplay. It's real, in-engine & playable! Frostbite delivers on visuals look at BF1 & Battlefront

I certainly wouldn't mind a multiplayer where I fought online players AS A DRAGON!

- Cautiously optimistic...
I think they really should start hedging those statements. If they just add "on the XBoneX" or "on 4K HDR", they might head off some of the pitchforks when some dude with an old HD display and an even older PC doesn't get exactly the same sexy graphics.

Mohamed saleh @mizo136 Will anthem have offline single player??
Corey Gaspur @cgaspur That type of detailed information will come sooner to launch. The SP experience is very important to us. Sorry for the delay in response.
Jake Lees @brocococonut @cgaspur I know #AnthemTheGame is a third person shooter, but will there be any love for those of us who prefer swinging around a sword?
Corey Gaspur @cgaspur Never say never. I personally prefer electric space whips like The Cerberus Dragoon in ME3 MP had
At the very least always having an option for 3rd person.
It was already confirmed by one of the Devs to be a combination of 1st and 3rd.

Jonathan Warner @bio_Warner Thanks! It is a mix of 3rd and 1st
I don't understand why they would go 1st person for the hub since that would be our only chance to see our faces (being in the suit the rest of the time). I guess that makes a CC less likely.
Do you mean freely choose 1st or 3rd at all times, or always 3rd person if you want to be? And why would you want to talk to NPCs in 3rd person?
At the very least always having an option for 3rd person.
Do you mean like in Skyrim and Fallout 4 where you had the option to switch? I know I like that option because 1st person will often give me motion sickness.

I'm kinda surprised he just didn't say "no offline, but solo is possible" to that question. hmm.
Bill Doran @chinbeard Dear @bioware and @ea, I would love to build an EXO suit from @anthemgame for you. I think our cosplay friends would love to see that. =D
Scylla Costa @scyllacosta Hey @bio_Warner and @demontsr Would you like to see a real life size Javelin suit? #AnthemGame

... Another is for Anthem to put the pressure OFF their sRPGs to be like anything else but what they want them to be.
This is my feeling too.
There's a reason why (for example) many studios with a fantasy franchise also have a sci-fi or shooter game. They could specialize in fantasy, churn out multiple variations on that theme. But if they do that, they're double-dipping in exactly the same audience. If they can tap the fantasy market with one game, and the sci-fi market with their next game, they're less likely to be competing against their own titles.
It's the same with gameplay styles. Studios can choose to only do games that are strictly RPGs, only do games that are co-op shooters, only do platformers. But their fans will have fatter wallets if they're hitting different fan groups with every title, instead of mining out the same vein.
MP players have a reputation for buying microtransactions, but they're still a finite resource. If you've got a game that heavily targets them, they're not going to be immediately available to play another game of the same type - they're still spending all their free time/money on the first one. It's time to hit a different audience, preferably one with as little overlap as possible.
