So I've been in the Elaaden vault for over an hour. Killed every enemy, found all the remtech, found and solved the bonus puzzle, activated both bridges. There's nothing left to do. But still the door to the final chamber is closed.
Once or twice I've found where an enemy gets trapped inside a wall or ceiling and the game won't continue unless that one is found and killed. Or maybe I've done some task in the wrong order. This kind of thing is where this game, any game, gets truly frustrating.
[edit] That was the problem. Backtracked to all the rooms where battles were, and I found one enemy left alive. Killed that one, which opened up one more console, and the thing could be finished. Elaaden was the toughest vault so far.

I hated Kadara's vault so much that I forgot Elaaden's was also pretty annoying. It was a rude awakening when I returned there for a second playthrough.

I guess lucky for me I got frustrated with exploring for 100% viability after third planet. So haven't seen seen much of the other two planets where I just said enough is enough and went straight for priority missions only to beat this game already.
Though honestly I have been trying to return to explore the rest of the game, all I've managed so far is playing those APEX missions and a lot of procrastinating in the form of shit posting the heck out of this forum... yes, I'm that bored.

I've glitched out a dozen times or more because of a stuck enemy. The engineer profile lets a sniper rifle see through objects, so sometimes you can use that to spot them and shoot them. Shockwave as an adept will hit them too (though takes ages on insanity).

I played the game twice and still don't understand the logic behind the Elaaden vault. I just ran around and pressed things until I got through the right doors.

If you've entered the console area at the wrong end enemies will spawn but not trigger the console.
Also avoid knocking people off ledges they get stuck and you can't progress till they die = restart.

I don't know If it was a bug but I didn't have hazard in my first and third playthrough in Voeld's Vault, only in my second play. I don't know why :S Edit: I remember doing all the missions and tasks on this planet before the vault, maybe it does something? In my second playthrough the vault was the first thing I did

In my second playthrough the vault was the first thing I did I just spent all day completing Voeld and did the vault last and you will die if you don't use the shields to keep warm, so that was lucky or a bug it seems. For me it's that place on Vetra's LM. That vault drove me insane until I realized how to summon the damn Remnants lol Also Elaaden's vault does weird things to my armor and my squad's clothing. All the blue on my armor went sandy and Jaal looked like he bought a new beige poncho.

Funny thing, I really came to love the vaults except I felt they could have done more with them and toned down the annoying sodoku shit. How many times I jetpacked into the toxic water is beyond me. But I felt like they had so much potential to be so much more fun. In general, I really did like them though. I don't remember which was elaaden or kadara but I do remember having more of a challenge in them. Puzzle bullshit IIRC? Once I saw more than a few consoles, after all the sodoku crap, I just looked it up online. If I want puzzles, I will play a puzzle game.
The voeld one pissed me off at first as well, until I realized I had to keep hitting that console to get the shield boost then jet the fuck around to light everything else up. I found it to be the worse on the left side. The right for some reason didn't hit me as hard. I think they might have just designed it that way to dick with us. Just have to remember to watch your shields then if the shield up is red, hit the console to change it. The red ones screw with shields (I thought someone has said something about health by I only notice my shield getting borked.) The blue color is a shield boost/shield recovery. For voeld you really have to have them all set to that or keep setting them to that which is a PITA.

Voeld Vault is fucking trivial. I've glitched out a dozen times or more because of a stuck enemy. The engineer profile lets a sniper rifle see through objects, so sometimes you can use that to spot them and shoot them. Shockwave as an adept will hit them too (though takes ages on insanity). That'd be Inloltrator. I played the game twice and still don't understand the logic behind the Elaaden vault. I just ran around and pressed things until I got through the right doors. It's a correct order affair, if I remember correctly. Might not be, it's pretty hazy and I'm a bit far out to do a repeat of Elaaden right now.

Yes that one is royal pain. I got stuck there in my first playthrough and had to replay the whole thing.
Are you sure you have all the consoles activated? They are spread out and there was one up high I missed. Use the scanner to look for the faint blue beams of light pointing at the door and follow where it's coming from on the other side of the area.

I hated Voeld's vault more due to it being the only vault, that the hazard effecting the planet, was also in the vault. Then again I found it annoying the entire time I was doing quests since, even though, I finished the vault, before doing any other quests on the planet, it didn't end SAM's constant repeating that I was entering/leaving a safe area. On the other planets that had a noticeable hazard, finishing the vault will fix the hazerd over time, but not on Voeld ><

I have finished all the vaults twice now and Elaaden gets my vote as most frustrating. I don't remember Voeld being that bad but that whole planet IMO isn't worth saving so maybe by the time I get to the vault I have already been pissed off enough to not care anymore.

While the inconsistencies between the vaults is awkward like the temperature, etc., the part that annoys me most, is the game design choice of limiting manual and quick saves in many areas. The very places you know you want to make a save but can't. Plus, initially I would have liked to go back and explore the vaults to see what I missed. Mostly it seems something you're stuck with doing and might want to skip.

Kinda makes you wonder about the type of people the Jaardan were, and whether or not they had some sort of extragalactic equivalent of OSHA. I mean, there's super dangerous ferrofluid everywhere just out in the open and they apparently don't believe in guardrails or solid catwalks. If their society had anything like lawyers, they must've made off like fat adhi.
