Hai Guyz,
If this was brought up in-game I missed it. Drack and some of the humans looked well past their child-bearing years. Gil mentioned his friend at the fertility clinic. How will this affect society having this sort of age gap 20 years from now?

I don't remember, but I doubt it due to limited space on the ships.

How will this affect society having this sort of age gap 20 years from now? Yeah, children were brought along. In the cutscene where you're boarding the Tempest for the first time (when you meet Vetra) the guy who tries to stop you has a son still in cryo. It's not explicitly stated, but it's pretty heavily implied that all the kids are still frozen, 'cause they're "non-essential" personnel.

I'm pretty sure. So yes children were brought over

They still need to set up the daycare centers. I mean what would it be like with all the rugrats running around the Nexus pissing Addison and Tann off. You thought Addison's face was tired before.

Kids and Mass effect don't go well with each other... The kid wasn't the problem. It was the kids blatant disregard for staying dead, Shepard gets away with it because he had a couple things left undone that he needed to get done. So the real lesson is if you've nothing left to contribute to the franchise, stay dead and don't come back specifically to fuck it up for everyone else either, that shit is just spiteful. The writers killed you stay dead. Dreams are for chumps.

How will this affect society having this sort of age gap 20 years from now? Remember they talked about waking up cryosleepers in waves? I doubt they would wake up children below 20 before they haven't established stable colonies with enough resources. Before that critical state children would just be a liability and it would be straight up irresponsible to wake them up!

I would have been annoyed if there were since just like most games the game wouldn't allow me to punch them, and just like Skyrim I'd have to search for a mod that lets me hit them.
Nothing made me happier than the recent metal gear solid montage of snake punching brats off cliffs and flying missiles like a bowling ball.

The Cora loyalty mission gives you some idea about all this, assuming you explore and read.

Dunn does talk about waking up families, but their age isn't stated, i personally doubt someone brought someone below age 20. In Cora's loyalty mission there is talk about children and datapads about it, but their age also isn't stated, considering they're Asari maybe "children" are around 50 years old?

Pretty sure diapers were mentioned somewhere on a datapad although I can't remember the exact context. I assume Asaris don't have an extended infant stage. It actually makes sense that parents would bring kids along assuming the whole family was in good health etcetera, because you would want older kids around to be role models for the Andromeda-born generations (in the most basic sense). Society would end up pretty weird otherwise.

One thing to consider is we don't really know the ages of the families that BioWare left in cryo sleep, for it could be that due to the risks of cryo sleep the youngest people might be legally considered children, but are still in the mid-teens. That way they can comprehend what is happening and have conversations with. It just seems like a huge risk to use a statis pod on a really young child for they wouldn't be able to help out at all for years.

I don't see why they would bring young kids to Andromeda. They can't help out really, they'd be more vulnerable to injury and sickness, and they're too young to have children. I think that's the whole reason why they gave the women blockers so that they couldn't get pregnant right away. Establish the colonies first and then start having children. Honestly, I would think past the essential personnel you would have brought couples without children, or teenage children.

How will this affect society having this sort of age gap 20 years from now? Even if there wasn't children, people in this universe live twice as long as we do and are much healthier right up until their twilight years. The age gap wouldn't be as big an issue as the older generation are able to contribute for many decades after the first children are born. That said they have brought youngsters with them, so it's not an issue. The reason we don't see them is because Mass Effect has a strange aversion to showing children. Well, except that one time we all don't like talking about.

There was a Turian Child mentioned during the Turian Ark sidequest on Elaaden. The child died from asphyxiation while inside their Pod during Cryo before it's pod hit Elaaden.

There was Connor in Dragon Age. He certainly broke the "Don't kill kids" rule. Also, Morrigan's son.
I remember that cutscene. Although the guy looks kinda old, and his son could possibly be an adult.
If memory serves, "Doctor" Liara T'Soni was 106 when she met Shepherd in ME1. There was also a Salarian with his adult-looking Asari daughter shopping for a tshirt in ME2 or ME3(forgot which). Since Salarians generally don't live to see 60, that would imply that an Asari becomes fully grown well before that(At least physically anyway).

I always looked at that scene as the Salarian being that girl's "current father", or Stepdad. Considering how long Asari live, they could go through multiple "fathers".

Two reasons why there aren't any in the game. Bioware didn't want to render them and from an in game perspective it didn't make sense to wake any up since the initiative was low on resources and kids would just use up resources without producing any.

I've noticed that ME in particular is very lazy when it comes to 3D modeling. Krogans, Turians, and Salarians are all palette swaps of each other, and even wear the exact same style clothing(but with different textures). Dragon Age does this to a much lesser extent.

Also, in the Krogan compound on Eladaan, there is a door you cannot go through that leads to their "family" quarters. Presumably there are Krogan children there.
