I don't see the point of it personally.
Why not simply use a shuttle? Terrain would never be an issue and travel would be faster.

Mako is one of the worst vehicle in gaming history. It's all bumpy and cumbersome, the weapons were weak, the controls are wonky, and take forever to repair/recharge.

It provided some entertaining moments, like when I parked it right between a bunch of Alliance soldiers and a horde of Rachni and it got shot to hell. "Get in vehicle? I don't want to get in it - it's on fire!"
I can't deny the coolness of going through the Conduit in it.

Still, I loved using it to run over my enemies. You have zero ability to do that with the Cerberus shuttle or the Kodiak. (Hammerhead could push geth into lava in certain areas.)

When I learned to handle it. The mako was not to bad. But it got boring after a while.

I voted, but never replied. Awesome, hun? The Mako. Let's see... - can play bowling with Geth Armatures on Therum, pushing them into the lava - can run over Colossus - can kill Thresher Maws - can face four turrets at once and stand the punishment - can run over almost anything - can stand heat and cold without a sweat - allow the player to lower the windows and keep the limbs outside the vehicle without a problem - can mine minerals with his cannon - can jump - can climb - don't bend or topple Founder of the Mako Mountain Climbing Team. The Hammerhed: - can't ride over Colossus - can't ride over geth troops (or anything else) - a simple rifle destroy it - you can't lower the windows and keep your limbs outside the vehicle - can't stand heat or even cold - can't climb mountains The Nomad: - can jump I guess...

brfritos: Great list, there! Hammerhead can push geth off the edge on that one planet with lava where the dropships keep dropping geth. But otherwise it's a piece of junk.

Actually, I liked the Mako. Especially the gun.

I don't see the point of it personally. Why not simply use a shuttle? Terrain would never be an issue and travel would be faster. How many enemies did you run over with your shuttle? If the answer is zero (and it is) then there's reason enough to use the Mako.

Nowadays, I love it. It is A TANK. I can destroy a Tresher maw with it without too much stress. Of course driving with it there is lot of cursing but also laugh. I can only think what my squadmates are feeling when Shepard drives the indestructible mad vehicle.

It didn't occur to me until my 6th time through ME1 that maybe I was supposed to go to final section of Therum on foot. Because I always saw the narrow passageway as being a challenge to drive the Mako through it sideways. Laughing for this so hard, I am on Therum at the moment, gonna try your way sir.

I love it the way I love my first car: It had its failings, but I had good adventures in it. There are things superior to the Nomad (gun, climbing ability), and things that the Nomad does better (jumping, turbo-boost).

It sucks. I hate it.
It drives slowly, its annoying when you hit any kind of incline, I've had it do ridiculous flips in the air because it hit a small bump in the road, I've gotten dead Geth stuck on its tires so driving it becomes factually 50 times worse, the guns are awful on it, landing from any kind of height makes it jump all over the place, and in general it makes doing side quests in ME1 a chore.
The only good thing I can say is that the worlds are at least smaller than they are in MEA. MEA's driving is ok, but the worlds are too big and barren.
