Okay.....okayyyyyy I will make a confession to amuse you all, think of my sacrifice while you all laugh at me. I had a number of errands to run today, trip to home depot for some things, had to pick up some prescriptions, had to renew my vehicle registration. So after all that I decided to make a rare trip to get some fast food burgers. I had decided to go to burger king. So my mind is wandering as I drive up to the drive through window, place my order for a single whopper with cheese and the person responds.....sir this is A & W. I had gone to the wrong fast food place, the A & W is right across the road from Burger king. I had to apologize, skulk through the fast food lane and then go to the right place across the road.

Well, at least you didn't end up at a Wendy's.
In the "was" version of a day, yesterday, after I'd gotten ready to take the pupster out, my sister chatted me up quite a bit, so Sasha and I headed out on her adventure a bit late ... a little more than an hour before Sasha's dinner time (1600).
Being the smart Husky she is (Sasha asks, "is there any other kind?"), Sasha decided we needed to pretty much run on her entire adventure ... so we could get in her preferred number of miles before her tummy's alarm went off.
So that's what we did ... except for her trip around Casey's (gas/convenience store/restaurant) and scoping out a storm drain where some feral cats live ... we pretty much ran the entire way ... somewhere a bit beyond five miles.
We raced up the hill, to the house and once inside, she sprinted to the kitchen, to stand in front of her dish that needed to be filled right naow.

My day is better now thinking of a happy husky that got plenty of exercise.
Trying to find help for personal situations, is not as easy as one might hope nor as simple as some might tell you. I made a real effort today, which may or may not pay off but I did gain in trying, I think.
I do get sick of finding silver linings sometimes, but you have to work with what you've got.

Had another ultrasound on my kidneys today. More bloodwork in two weeks....then I see the Nephrologist on the first Monday of March Break. I also have a follow-up appointment with my Endodontic Surgeon to see how my jaw/tooth socket has healed, then I have to have a Sinus Graph done to repair a hole in my sinus cavity (which is how my tooth got infected to begin with)....and after that, a bone graph on my upper jaw.....and then finally after that, (hopefully) an implant.
But today, over all is going pretty well thus far. Lazy day. Not wanting to do my laundry or clean my room (though I am getting tired of the mess).

Even my outermost toe nails, which were the most afflicted, are now white, reasonably well shaped and can be cut normally. My toenails have actually been healthy for more than a year, but it takes time for things to return to normal. Toenails grow slowly. Going barefoot has been a most successful project.

I got locked out of my Outlook account by Microsoft today. ...For 30 days. They claimed I would be able to use my email, but I can't, so that was a lie. It's human to make mistakes, but to really fuck things up you need computers. ...and everything automatically controlled by endlessly long and endlessly nested python scripts, instead of humans. The problem was that I had long ago registered a different email as alternative security check. And apparently forgot about it. That email no longer exists. Haven't existed in years. And I also, for the first time in my life, own a watch with screw-down crown, two of them even. And also, for a long time, mechanical watch instead of quartz. I've had three mechanical watches before, when I was younger, but for many years I've relied on quartz. They just kept better time for what I could afford when I was younger. Now I'm like: If civilization crashes a bit more, it might start to get difficult to get hold of batteries, and a clock is really a vital tool.

After playing for more than 100 hours, to give it a fair chance, I'm done with Civ VI. I don't know if I've written about the game here before, but it's simply not fun. All the changes from Civ V - and there are many of them, it's basically a different game - are negative IMO. Back to Civ V.
There are many things in Civ V that could have been improved upon, but as it stands, it's still more fun and a better functioning game.

a watch with screw-down crown I don't suppose you'd give us any details? So it's either very cheap or very expensive. I'm a hobbyist, so I like Timex and Rolex equally, but my favourite brands are Seiko and Tudor. for many years I've relied on quartz Me too, and I still do. But I've really grown to like my mechanical watches.

But I've really grown to like my mechanical watches. Neither cheap nor expensive, I would say. A fairly well known Hong Kong brand, 'San Martin'. They make high quality watches with decent, mainly Japanese, movements from Seiko, Epson and Miyota. I was only on the market to buy one watch, but I liked another watch too, so took that as well. My old wear, probably need a clean and service after some 10 years, so I needed an alternative watch, and it was going to be mechanical this time. I'm very happy with my San Martins sofar, btw. Extremely precisely and solidly made with exquisite finish. 26 and 21 jewels, 100m and sapphire crystals. When it comes to hoarding hobbies, I've already gone insane with fountain pens. I wasn't really looking for repeating it with watches. And I won't. There are similarities. You can like something cheap (Wing Sung 699 and Faber Castell Grip, hint, hint) just as much as something very expensive. ...And the functional value doesn't really follow the price tag exactly.

I know of them, great bang for buck, but has been getting more expensive lately. They have Swiss and Chinese movements as well. Although a Swiss SW200 will add another $100 or so to the price. Almost certainly Miyota 9000- and 8000-series. I've been wanting a watch with the 9000-series movement, but haven't found one yet. probably need a clean and service after some 10 years There are very few quartz watches that can be serviced, Grand Seikos being one of them. I just had my Longines quartz serviced, and they changed the movement. My favourite San Martin is the Tudor Ranger homage:

Today we had 2 elections on the same day, so I voted. Don't worry, I won't go into politics. I will just explain our democratic institutions. One was for the Water Boards. A water board solely controls the water management of a region, like in canals, rivers, polders and protection from the sea. The oldest boards go back to the 12th century. For obvious reasons the boards are important in my country. There are 21 of such boards, and each contains various seats of many political parties. They are elected every 4 years. The second one was for the Provincial Councils. The first one dates back to the middle ages. A council is the provincial parliament and legislative assembly in each of the provinces of my country. There are 12 of those. Each one contains various seats of many political parties. They are important, because they control the land (and their use) and infrastructure in between cities and villages. These too are elected every four years. Three months after their election, the combined members of the provincial councils elect the members of our senate. Every four years the House of Representatives and the Municipal Councils have their own elections, two years later. I don't like extremism and populism, so I think my votes are important.

It was pretty busy at the polling station so I am hoping that the attendance was high, these elections are not very popular and attendance is usually low. They are very important though as you explained AFW.

So if I turn in my quartz watch, they will just change the movement? I also need a new bottom because one of those idiots who have replaced battery have damaged it. I suppose I'll just have to ask. I'd like to keep the watch because it's nice. It still works fine, but if the movement can be changed now, it might be worth it because we don't know about the future?

Today I did normal bodybuilding exercises for the first time in over a year. Usually I only train for strength and do very few exercises for muscle growth specifically. I totally forgot how much fun comparatively light weight and simple exercises with lots of repetitions are, that was relaxing and now I have a post-workout muscle pump I can barely bend my arms, lol. And I 'm also not even remotely as utterly trashed as when training compound movements for max weight. This was fun! Also I just realized a lot of my hair and beard is turning white, guess I am following my families tradition of getting completely white hair before reaching 40. Soon I'm gonna be a Targaryen. Now where did I put my Dragon?!

If it was a popular model when you bought it, you might be able to get a new caseback, but not necessarily. I'd like to keep the watch because it's nice. That's why I had my Longines serviced: I really like the watch and it would be a pity to just disgard it. They did a full service, buffed scratches and repolished everything. Good as new, but it did cost about 250USD. It very well might be.

I'm back in the rocket design business. I'm playing KSP again. "Science" campaign again. I tried a "Career" last time, but it doesn't work for me. Since the game has been patched a few times it's a new game for me. I have to go through all the steps again, not just to learn what has changed, but also fresh up my skills. I've noticed I suddenly sucks at flying the rockets into orbit. I have some difficulties at getting that right.

I like my online grocery store, even when they make an error. Today they didn't calculate the discounts of 4 products properly. Instead of doing an exact recalculation, they simply refunded all four products and I could keep them. That's nice.

Today, for the 7th or 8th time in my life, I was asked if I am soldier or a member of some branch of the military. I don't get it, my mustache and my chin beard is clearly non-regulation, I don't walk around with a camouflage uniform and my hair is too long. The heck is going on. Or do they mean mercenary?

I was a bit worried this weekend. Saturday evening my esophagus didn't accept any food and fluid (including water). So this morning I called the hospital. They wanted me to check in ASAP and prepare for hospitalization. When I came in they started the examination. It turned out that I ate chicken and it got stuck in there. They removed it and everything was well again. Just before I left they gave me coffee, a smoothie and a lunch to make sure everything went well. I am glad it wasn't something more serious.

Probably a lot of people don't know what hair is regulation and what isn't. They see muscles and associate that with current or former military.
