We have a young Australian Baseball Player Gennevieve Beacom who I believe has just signed a college Baseball scholarship putting up amazing numbers. It's incredible what the women are doing in sport now. www.mlb.com/news/genevieve-beacom-commits-to-play-college-baseballThis is her pitching against men at the highest level in Australia other than playing for Australia at age 17

Why do you think it was done? Well... That's a very big discussion, that requires a lot of background preparation, like the question on how to pick the team, what's important, etc. And I'm kinda just engaged in this for the nuclear fallout and the pop corn, ...now. If Clark is not in the Olympics, I'm not going to watch. Basically, my feelings are that Dave Portnoy hit the nail. >99% of the logic of picking a team should focus on visibility, marketing (The men's Olympic team has always done exactly that). Because they will win no matter what. I think they can pick any players from 3-digit pool and still be certain of winning gold. And the players they have picked are not "the best" only, anyway. It's self evident to remove at least two of them. In fact, they should not only pick Clark, but also yet another Rookie, like Reese. But they cannot pick Reese, because she's not at all at the same level as Clark, and it would expose their "true" reasons for not wanting Clark. Proficiency is no problem. If Clark and Reese were on the team, they would deliver. In fact the opposition, which is far less brutal than WNBA defense, will allow them to explode in the full fireworks as displayed by Clark in NCAA. So why, you asked. I'm looking forward to the mainstream media show, because there are a lot of woke ideologues who are going to have tie themselves into knots with contortions to defend this. And defend it they will. And they are going to be mercilessly skinned and fileted by various other analysts. Chris Cuomo has been unleashed from CNN and doesn't have to lie anymore. This is a very long take by him, where he wraps it up as softly and "inoffensively" as possible. If watching that babble for half an hour, is too long for you, I could quickly sum it up in a few brutally non-PC lines here. I considered it, but I eventually figured the moderators would have some issue, so I didn't.

I'm glad I don't have a horse in the Dragon Age race. Everything I'm seeing peripherally looks to be quite the shitshow.
Tried the first one three times, getting pretty far in two of the runs. Honestly liked it, but never quite managed to finish it. After that it went off my radar.
Come to think of it, DA:O is what got me on the old BSN forums in the first place. Had to make an account for the Shale DLC, IIRC. That was the old OLD forums.

I'm glad I don't have a horse in the Dragon Age race. [snip] Hear hear! I lost interest after DA2, and faith after ME3. Never touched DA:I.
In my mind, BSN isn't about games, it's about gamers.

The mat from biodegradable material is supposed to destruct itself soon, but as a last farewell it decide to cut through my skin again and create a new hole. So, the nurses are back once a day. Sigh.
I've finished the first two Star Trek TNG seasons. The second was somewhat better, but if I wasn't a fan I would quit somewhere in the first season.

So, that HoI4 game I started some weeks ago, as USA, I screwed up that pretty good. Normal I think. You have to do a few runs to understand how to play a country, and this was the first try where I had at least some clue, due to learning to play UK successfully. But I also encountered a nasty bug, that I now think I've seen glimpses of before. Fuel supply to your navy is suddenly completely cut off. Without cause or reason. What's worse is also that it's not reported or exactly visible. What happens is that your ships can still sail out into the sea, they can still sail to a different port. But they cannot fight or train! ![:banghead:](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/ahSwvSYySULJ0LMyGLJF.gif) And you're not really told explicitly what the problem is or that there is a problem at all. Only by directly interrogating fuel consumption do you see supply is 0. I'm now suspecting this might have happened once before, when Japan sunk all my ships, playing as USA. Granted, I had no clue about how to organize a fleet back then, so might also have been incompetence. Anyway, I tried in vain to unlock the fuel-block. First searching for a valid game.play cause, then accepting that it was a glitch, hoping it might be unglitched by some action. That finally turned out to be true! And who solved it for me? I asked MS Copilot, the AI in Edge. And let me inject that I have had a lot of help from Copilot for all kinds of things lately! Really, it's quite useful. It has it's problems. It's a bloody, woke liar with thinly veiled leftist agenda, and for some information, you have to almost "torture" it, interrogate it with very specific and detailed questions, digging repeatedly for what you exactly want to know. And you need to be armed with good knowledge beforehand, because it will "hallucinate", blabber nonsense and lie to you ![](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/mYKVZsYKhOsPsltcpJZF.png) . But for hands-on and domestic questions it's easier, and surprisingly clever and knowledgeable about finding effective solutions. Including for PC-games. I did have to patiently explain that, yes, "the cable was plugged in": yes all supply lines and stockpiles were fine, yes it afflicted all my fleets, all over the globe, regardless of home ports, yes I had tried to change ports, yes the integrity of game files and savegame were just fine. But then finally, ![](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/bPEwHJpbAIRkokRsvgHh.png) it did know of that someone else had had the exact same problem, and had managed to fix it: Go to the Diplomacy menu, open it with your own country (USA) selected. Down at the bottom there's a tag named 'Logistics'. This is probably intended to control supplies to allies. But opening it reveals a number of switches and strength bars. One of them is fuel and fuel-priority for the navy. This bar was empty for me. No fuel flow at all, for no reason. Some internal code-glitch had just deleted any value for fuel flow, effectively setting it to zero. But manipulating the fuel-priority switch, access fuel supply, makes it compute, and breaks this static lock and cause the fuel to flow normally again. Since I have no lack of fuel or oil, I set it to high priority. I don't think it changes anything, 'normal' gives the same fuel as long as you have excess fuel supply. But the action nudges the code so it comes unstuck. So yes, don't hesitate to ask AI about everyday problems. ![:yas:](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/gKZRdVgBgOkaWQrogvsl.png) (it will not give medical or financial advice though, of course not. ![8D](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/HmVTIMhosGrmLPNXGvZk.png) )

I've bought a new keyboard. I used to have problems with mechanical keyboards, because I smoked. That lead to a dusty environment and Cherry keys don't like dust, which can cause problems with both the LEDs and the switches. Now that I don't smoke anymore for more than two years, it was time to try again. This time I bought a programmable keyboard with optical switches. It is supposed to be great for gaming, but (for me) more importantly these switches should be more reliable. The brand matches my mouse and headset, which also helps me to eliminate the other keyboard software I was using. This keyboard also has onboard memory, so I am going to transfer the settings into memory, which eliminates another software layer and see how that will work. Let's see how long this one survives. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/uYQYVMAupPAfTXFFwWlB.png) So far, I'm loving it. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png)

It worked. The keyboard's memory works just fine. It seems that my mouse also has onboard memory. That works too. So there's less CPU usage. Cool. I only need the software when I want to enhance the sound and to make changes to the programming. And about Star Trek... I am watching Voyager now. I like it more than the TNG. Too bad Voyager doesn't come on Blu Ray. Same goes for DS9. I think I have found a nice DVD version, though. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6576594/images/KGsHESiZGZU0pPuHuhQr.png)

And about Star Trek... I am watching Voyager now. I like it more than the TNG. I'm curious what you like more about it? Genuinely curious, not a take I hear often but I have seen it before. ("Seven of Mine in a catsuit" is also an acceptable singular answer.) For my part I like DS9 the most, then SNW (which I also highly recommend), then TNG. I grew up on TNG so it holds the real nostalgia factor, but DS9 has the best episode in Star Trek bar none. Lower Decks uses a lot of Voyager callbacks too and highlights the somewhat more eccentric takes they had, to great effect. (Warp 10 Salamander Babies and Tuvix.) If you haven't seen it it's worth a shot after you've watched the rest. The humour is hit 'n miss, but the tropes they poke fun at are entirely on the nose. And then some. Really well done in that regard. I watch it for that aspect mostly. More miss than hit for me in terms of the humour dept.
