Realizing I don't have a good lighter I bought a proper Zippo today. Disclaimer: Smoking causes cancer and all kinds of nasty stuff. Don't do it people.
Cuban Corona Majors? I used to puff those from time to time, before I quit altogether. Good stuff, but I don't miss them or anything.

Good stuff, but I don't miss them or anything. I have to smoke due to a health condition, I have an inflamed bowel condition and one of the few things that actually help is, of all things, nicotine. Nobody knows why it works, but they are already experimenting on oral drugs based on nicotine for those kinds of conditions because it works so well. The usual anti-inflammatory drugs are FAR more damaging. And I like cigars. They are actually worth smoking because they are quality tobacco unlike trashy cigarettes, they help me calm down and as you don't inhale them the damage on lungs is limited. And since I don't drink alcohol, don't eat sugar or do drugs of any kind....

It's... boring. We've had loads of rain for a month straight and it's starting to be...bleak and depressing. With corona, it's not like you can get out too much, but I really liked my Saturday and Sunday hikes, and, as it's raining buckets, it's not like I can go on hikes

I love walking/hiking in the rain ... well maybe i'm a little wacko. Or dancing in the rain and i almost never use an umbrella.

Worst thing is there is no computer game interesting enough for me to buy and play, I have watched all good TV series twice already. So no interesting media for distraction. Hiking, indoor sports (lifting, bicycle), cooking and turning into a home-office-workaholic is what keeps me occupied and somewhat sane at the moment. I know many people who struggle a lot more though, who have developed very unhealthy habits during the pandemic and most people I know have become fat and unhealthy. Eh. Summer is going to be better, time flies - just a couple more months and all things will be VASTLY better.

Pretty much everyone in my family has gained weight. Meanwhile, I got quite fitter. I find in working out a great distraction from all the shit going on rn. Congrats on your self-improvement, keep up the good work! Guess there is two kinds of people in the pandemic, those that pull themselves together and use the extra time to improve themselves despite all the craziness and those that without any kind of outside motivation just kind of succumb to monotony and apathy. I know a lot of the latter. As for my day, today I hiked 10 kilometers which I enjoyed despite the drab post-apocalyptic February landscape - and I made a donation to animal welfare.

I'm shocked. I thought they would have lasted 2 years or less. It's nearly 7.

Also, I found weights at the store yesterday, and I'm overjoyed. It's too cold to bike and all the gyms are closed, so I'll have to be content with two 10-lb dumbbells.

I don't know, if they are so ubiquitous why am I not picking up anything about their moronic life? My Kindle likes to carpet bomb me with news articles when I go to read a book. Also.. think about the potential South Park episode that may come from this. You have to see the opportunity in their idiocy.

Good stuff, but I don't miss them or anything. I have to smoke due to a health condition, I have an inflamed bowel condition and one of the few things that actually help is, of all things, nicotine. And since I don't drink alcohol, don't eat sugar or do drugs of any kind.... I needed tape, ordinary office tape, and passed a store that used to be a tobacco store (and still calls themselves that). After the tape I asked for cigars, since I've had a craving for a while. I know nothing about cigars, except the two cheap brands that I liked in younger days, but haven't seen for decades. They had only three kinds. I bought one of each. I haven't lighted any of them yet, but none of them smells quite like the aromatic cigars I used to like. The one that seems most promising was a "handmade" Dominican Churchill cigar (it was also the most expensive, though there wasn't much difference). This had the best, and least acrid smell. Then there was a "100% Cuban Tobacco". Which tells me two things: This wasn't made in Cuba, and no Cuban cigar maker selected this tobacco. I didn't like the smell, but lets see how it smokes. The third had a very spicy smell, almost like cloves, very little tobacco aroma. I'm not looking forward to this, so I'll likely light that first, to get rid of it. I suppose I'll eventually have to find a specialist.

Something weird has happened. Today, all three cigars smelled fantastic. Absolutely Yummy. (and I have a faint memory that I've been through this before) Either, my nose has changed, or the action of opening the tubes and taking out the cigars changed the cigars.

I get the same thing with my morning coffee; I make it the same way every day....But sometimes it just doesn't taste right. Sometimes it tastes down-right horrible, sometimes it tastes just a bit off almost like the cream is going bad...Even if it is fresh within two days. Other times it tastes exactly as I would expect and I don't want it to end.
I've chalked it up to my taste buds and the funky things going on with my mouth at 4:15 in the morning.

Something weird has happened. Today, all three cigars smelled fantastic. Absolutely Yummy. (and I have a faint memory that I've been through this before) Either, my nose has changed, or the action of opening the tubes and taking out the cigars changed the cigars. I'm hardly an expert myself, but I did learn something back in the day; they smell aromatic because they are drying. Cigars are kept in humidors in order to keep them moist. Once you remove them from the humidor, water begins to evaporate as well as the tobacco aroma. I used to keep cigars in the warmest compartment of my fridge door. It's far from ideal, because they still get too moist and too cold, but it beats room temperature, where they dry up. I would take it out maybe a day before intended use. And I wouldn't put a box of Cohibas in there.
About the quality, I think it's a matter of preference really. My local shop (which quit about 10 years ago) sold Uppmanns, which I liked a lot, but some US or Europe rolled ones have been ok too.
This post has made me realise, that I don't miss smoking at all, yay!

I'm a coffee aficionado, and I can tell you that coffee is very difficult to get right every time, there's so many things that can go wrong. That said, dairy products are the most susceptible. Milk and cream may have flaws even before you buy it. I've found, that around here the big 2 litre/ 0.5gl milk carton or bottle tastes best. I can't explain it, it's strange.
