I love this game in general.
I think there should be many more MEAs. Fuck the milky way, it's dead because they ruined it with rainbow colored endings. I never want to return there because they will fuck it up again.
Male Ryder professional is actually really fun to play.
The combat system is fun. Classes are gone thank god.
Preset Scott is fug.
I actually prefer all the nice science krogan we got in this game. I want MORE of them.
Vetra's big sister schtick gets tiresome. (not with her sister but with everyone else)
Gil is so boring I grieve for gay males who wanted a decent romance.
Male Ryder voice is the best hands down.
Female Ryder voice acting is truly awful at times. Painfully so.
Jaal not dying to a point blank bullet to the face was the worst writing in this whole game.
The game ending (the run with all you allies helping) is the best of all the games though less talk from archon would make it better as would maybe being able to shoot him.

I prefer the SR2 over the tempest I've only been playing for five hours or so, but I so agree, I almost cried when I saw the Tempest....it has nothing on the Normandy. And the Nomad? It's just the Mako with better wheels. Fuck WASD steering aaargh.

Mass Effect 1 is actually a pretty bad game, not just today but for it's time too. I have no idea how that game was successfully, let alone it kept major respect for gamers even today.

Actually love ME1. Still play it, either alone or as part of a trilogy run.

- I don't agree with the claim that "this game does not feel like Mass Effect at all". Priority missions and loyalty mission often gave me the same old feelings.
- I like the "juvenile writing". We are supposed to do a fresh start in a new and unexplored galaxy. What we need are young and enthusiastic people, not gloomy characters tied to a dark past. Besides, even if they have it, we are now 600 years away, so, how could it be of any use for the story?
- I am in love with default preset female character #9. Choosed it at first sight. Never regretted that decision.
- Cora is as boring as Ashley
- I wanted an option to punch Liam in the face during or after his loyalty mission

If Bioware were to make a sequel to ME3 bringing Shepard back, the game would sell better than MEA

- I like this game, with the caveat that the last fifth of it is a fucking slog.
- I mean, it's worse flaw to me isn't the writing or the animations or the standard, tropey plot, but that fact that periodically while playing I would think: Man I am going to play the hell out of the original trilogy after this.
- I like Liam, even if I don't think I'll ever be able to romance him. Vetra is super boring.
- The Tempest is terribly laid out. This game made me miss the elevators.
- I freely admit to not getting all the background information I could, but when it came to Sloane and Reyes (even though I quite liked Reyes actually) they both seemed typically terrible mob boss folk and when it came down to it my choice during the 'duel' wasn't who I like better but would my Ryder really let the sniper take the shot. The UO being that I don't prefer one over the other.
- The romances are fine. Not great, not terrible. Just. Fine.
I guess the overall point of this UO post is that for a game that seems to be fiercely polarizing, I found it to be okay. Perfectly decent, a good waste of a few hours, nothing to write home about but nothing to write angry about. And actually that might be even worse than loving or hating it.

I am fairly neutral to Liam but I like that I can be mean to him.. 'mean' as in "Do you think I'm a moron that you can talk out of it simply because you're friendly to me?" kinda mean. Glad that they didn't force it like they did with Garrus.
Wished you could use jump jet in Tempest... or jump down from the the top floor. Tempest is tiny though and made me feel a bit claustrophobic.
Honestly, the ambient in MEA is more disappointing for me. The people kept repeating the same thing over and over despite major story development. I do like to sit near the turian welcome desk as she processed the new people into Nexus. Also wish there's a larger map of Nexus which you could explore properly.
Spare sibling should move around the Nexus and helping out people instead of being stuck on Hyperion.

- Bioware went full on SJW by making the AI a pussier version of the "federation"....if the mysterious benefactor is who we think it is then we should have had fucking warships I don't think it's possible to 'pussify' the Federation any more. Section 31 was the most interesting part of it; and the Maquis were in the right.

This game feels more like a space dating simulator than an action RPG. All of the focus went to romances and little else, although I doubt this is unpopular

I wanted a salarian squadmate to counter balance Drack especially with the pro Krogan decisions and bringing a salarian to the Krogan colony and Salarian ark.
Also, to add:
I believe it's unpopular because likely someone else would have been cut. Some one would would lost a LI (ya know it would have been even more unbalanced) unless the salarian would have been romanceable. All the races were represented, I think, besides this race.

Unpopular opinions? Yeehaww
I yawned myself silly through nearly every hour of my 129 hour playthrough
I never felt challenged by the environments, outlaws, the Kett or the Archon (he had a the face of a cute grasshopper)
Ryder was not convincing in any aspect (leader, thinker, fighter, lover)
SAM should have been the end boss - how to remove him from Ryder's head without dying
Australian accented Angarans: just NO.
I felt the combat although fun, was too fast and furious *press a button and something awesome happens* and much prefer the pausing, aiming and setting up of combos etc with squadmates
The Tempest is inferior in everyway to the Normandy: its appearance, its layout and its sounds (when it accelerates/takes off/lands)
The MEA soundtrack should not be called music but rather oblique space age(ish) experiments with sound
The Krogans with facepaint looked stupid. Kesh looked a little bit too real like a close up of a cane toad.
I wanted all the superfluous npcs to stfu over the radio during the final battle - the Citadel (dlc) style casual/cheesey/cutesy banter wrecked the atmosphere of the final battle.
