I remember it was possible to remove the makeup in a mod for Cassandra and Josephine in DAI - maybe they can change the texture somehow here?
Also, they added facial hair for Cullen, so Scott could be changed this way too . . .

Also, they added facial hair for Cullen, so Scott could be changed this way too . . . That something was possible in Inquisition does not mean it is possible in Andromeda, unfortunately. Each game has its own peculiarities.
Anyway, I can't wait to see if I would be able to clean up my Vasco's brow again. I really never appreciated how much I liked the modded version till I faced the prospect of not being able to use the retexture. Fingers crossed I have a bit of time to mess with it over the weekend.

I may try to change things again, but I will wait until its confirmed exactly where we need to export/import from....this will be an issue every time the game is patched so I want to be sure.
Also, I havent been ingame yet, does the 'new' default Sara still have skin issues or did they tweak her normal map as well?

Omg, I didn't see that announcement! thank you, I can't wait to extract assets and work with them, I would be happy if I can make new outfits like I did in ME3 but Frostbite is a pain in the ass to mod . And now I can not wait for you to begin your work with the tool Ehamloptiran was our savior before. As far as I remember modding frenzy for DAI, that workaholic managed to be everywhere - making modding tool, following updates and answering post on forums. If anyone can battle FB to surrender - it's Ehamloptiran . I can only wish luck to all the modders with this endeavor.

So, I was messing around with tool for several hours, since I've got the same problem as fialka did. Tested with replacing preset 9 (Cora) textures with default Sara ones (universal), both from the patch file. Specifically these three textures: diffuse_mean, normal_mean and hmf_head_universal_mask.res. What I've learned: 1. Replacing diffuse and normal maps works, the save loads and everything should be fine, in theory, buuut... 2. Replacing specular map, mask.res, doesn't. There's simply no changes in-game. Replacing the files from NOT PATCH, but DATA folders, dataCora and dataJayde, works, but only for a new game and CC, saves won't load. And even switched mask.res shows up! Can somebody check the thing with patchJayde(Universal) mask file? I have to be sure. It's all in FS/TOC/Patch\Win32\characters_sp.toc/win32/dev/characters/player/bundles/sp/blueprintbundle_pathfinder_female_customized| VVFS/ROOT/game/characters/human/hmf/0_heads/hmf_head_universaland VFS/ROOT/game/characters/human/hmf/0_heads/hmf_head_cora

For me all works fine even in saved game tweaking files on data. I suspect what happen to all of you, Default Sara's files (the ones on same directory as before in data) crash the game whenever you try to swap them now. Those files now need some hex editing to work because it doesn't match with the files you want to swap (they touched something with new patch). So I'll try to explain it as easy as possible (use latest MEAexplorer version of course and remember to copy ansel.dll files too, the patch reverted them to original files so modding will not work): - Go to the same directory as you worked before this new patch \Data\Win32\characters_sp.toc -> win32/dev/characters/player/bundles/sp/blueprintbundle_sibling_female_customized now load this file into VFS and go to VFS/ROOT/game/characters/human/hmf/0_heads/hmf_head_jayde/textures here export hmf_head_jayde_mask.res then open -> pca/textures and export diffuse_mean.res, export normal_mean.res too if you want to use Default Sara's normal map but I didn't recomend it because it makes your skin too prominent. - Now, what preset textures do you want to replace with? I'll go with preset 9 for this so go to Cora's files in same .toc like above and extract hmf_head_cora_mask.res and diff_mean.res too. - Open your hmf_head_jayde_mask.res.bin in a hex editor like HxD you should see something like this: - Open your hmf_head_cora_mask.res.bin in the hex editor as well: - Look at line 00000080 and those numbers and letters in hmf_head_cora_mask.res.bin and copy them in same line in hmf_head_jayde_mask.res.binCopy this: And paste it here: The file hmf_head_jayde_mask.res.bin should looks like this now: - Save hmf_head_jayde_mask.res.bin and make the same hex change editing in line 00000080 with diffuse_mean.res from jayde and every file from jayde that you want to replace comparing the original preset file you want to replace . - Import Jayde edited files back to replace Cora's preset 9 files and that's it. For my preset 9 I replaced hmf_head_cora_mask.res with jayde mask edited file, diff_mean.res with jayde diffuse edited file, ao_head_mean.res with jayde ao edited file and normal_mean.res with preset 1 Amy's normal map which doesn't need hex editing to work for skin smoothing. This is the result (it's a saved game with the game completed): Still prefer diffuse texture from preset 9 a thousand times and now even more with that lipstick they added to default sara's texture . I was using this method before the patch to evade some crashes with some textures and it was working fine anyway. So try it and let me know if it works for you. Aaaand sorry for my shitty english with large text :poop: .

ok hex editing is where i draw the line....its too much faffing for me. Also the new Sara has a better normal map, not as good as preset 1 but its tolerable enough that im not bothered about trying this new, more complicated modding procedure.

Any idea what ive done wrong?
EDIT: figured it out, I had to 'unblock' all the .dll files in the MeaExplorerWW folder

ERROR : Plugin 'SHA1 Export/Import' Not found. - Before unzip MEAExplorerWV-master.zip, right click on it and select properties. If you see 'unblock' button, click on it then click Apply. - Then copy AnselSDK64.dll and AnselSDK64_org.dll from AnselSDK64 folder in MEAExplorerWV-master, paste and replace them to your game directory. This should fix that error.

Hi everyone! I need help with preset 9. In MEA Explorer there's no normal_mean.res for her (In Data and Patch both). And when I try change diffuse_mean.res nothing happens in game. With other presets everything works fine. I tried to replace characters_sp.toc with backup one I made before changes. Also repaired game. Nothing helped Before patch 1.06 I used mod from Nexus, default skin for 9 preset and it worked. Can anyone please give me normal characters_sp.toc? Or I don't how else this problem can be solved. Thanks and sorry for my English.

So question I did all of my presets for male and female ryders. Everything worked and looks great. However, since to do that we used the path "pathfinder" and there is a "sibling ryder" path does that mean that siblings will not see the changes to the preset? If so can I go in and replace them the same way so that the siblings match? I'm a stickler for things matching.
Looks like it works just fine. I went back and checked with a new plus + game and they do have my presets already. Which is nice less work for me.
