You obviously never heard of mods. What does that have to do with the rating for the vanilla game? I've modded all my games. I know people install sex mods day one. That's not the point.

Awww, maaaan! This is super dumb most of the time but it has some good highlights. I'll say I laughed way hader that I'd like to admit. The ones for Jedi Survivor and Diablo 4 are the same by the way, very very dumb but great.
Also, the text to speech with the voices is frigging incredible.

One major downside of the new gen controller I wish I had known before is the bright AF Xbox button that CANNOT be dimmed on PC! Can be dimmed on console, not on PC. Seriously, Microsoft?? WTF?!
I find it VERY distracting tbh. Lights up the whole room when you play in the dark. I tried the controller out last night to make sure it's not defective before putting it back in the box until Starfield releases. Might not have bought it if I had known. :/ I'm not going to ruin this beautiful controller with a tape over the button. So I guess I'll have to learn to tune it out. I probably will eventually. Our brains are smart like that but still. Kind of a bummer.

The Starfield Countdown @starfield_Count In a new #Starfield interview, Todd Howard confirms:
1. No ground vehicles/animal mounts.
2. FOUR main romanceable companions - the Constellation Crew.
3. No fishing (lol okay)
4. 10% of planets have life on them.
5. There's a radio station local to one location.
6. Starfield is a "modder's paradise."
7. You can customise stolen ships but they have to be registered first.
8. The Outpost and Ship building systems are very deep and complex. They are intended for later in the game.
9. Surveying planets and systems earns money.

So does the limited amount of romances means they have more depth than in Fallout 4? And is one of them Vasco?

With only 4 options, I hope they are playersexual (or bi). CP2077 had 4 options but each was locked to a gender/sexuality so that actually became quite limiting.

Fallout 4 had seven romanceable companions and they were all playersexual. Since Starfield has less, I expect them to be playersexual as well. It should be noted that Todd said those 4 were the romances with a full questline. There might be other flings in the game. Question asked: "Are the Constellation companions the only ones that are able to be romanced?" Todd's answer: "The 4 main Constellation ones are the ones that support full quests lines for them and romance."

Our brains are smart like that but still. Kind of a bummer. What about ink or dye? Has anyone said how NPC skills work? For instance, when in ship combat, does it use the best skill in the crew even though the interface shows the PC at the controls? (It's not like Mal was the pilot of Serenity, although he did have a few ranks in Piloting.) Same thing for social skills planetside. This is often a problem for PC-centric CRPGs. Edit: NVM. I suppose it has to be best-in-party or the skills on the Constellation NPCs wouldn't make any sense. And it looks like ship-related skills are highlighted for NPCs currently assigned to the ship. Speaking of the PC, have I heard right that the term of art for the Starfield PC is The Spacefarer? Not wrong, but it's oddly non-specific. Although I guess there was more than one Courier around New Vegas.

Aw damn, no DLSS for this game. Really hoped Frame Generation will help in such a potentially CPU bound title.
And yeah, I know there will be a mod, but looks like you will have to pay for it. And it uses Reshade, which has more issues than benefits any time I tried it.
Guess I will be focusing on BG3, then CP2077 before even touching Starfield.

I'll most likely be getting a Nvidia card. But then again I hope it will be powerful enough to not need DLSS in the first place.

Two Neon street rats, Ada and Harper, are partners in crime eking out a living stealing from the wealthy partygoers that come to the “pleasure city” to let loose. When Ada is forced into a moral dilemma, she quickly catches the attention of the all-seeing Ryujin Industries, bringing her an exciting new opportunity. But at what cost?

I always focus on a single one (sometimes two) for role-play reasons and it gives me a reasons to do replays and see new things. I've been doing that since Morrowind. In Daggerfall, I usually join a temple and a guild...but it has way more factions.

One "white knight"/paladin who did mages guild, Companions and the Imperials and one thief/murderer who is doing thieves guild and dark brotherhood (and doesn't get involved in the civil war). Will probably do something similar in Starfield.

In Daggerfall, I usually join a temple and a guild...but it has way more factions. I did this with Skyrim, joined only the Thieves Guild with my bosmer archer. Aaand then I never replayed beyond the first couple of hours and that's why I actually haven't seen a lot of content yet! It's totally ridiculous! FO4 was a little different because your goal to get into the Institute leads you to all the factions and it makes sense to join them all and figure out the best way to deal with the Institute. So in FO4 I managed to complete the game with only the Institute removed while everyone else is still alive and getting along. My character was all about rebuilding and making the Commonwealth a better place together. For Starfield I'll try to roleplay and only join one faction unless the story requires to join all of them again. I dig the Freestar Collective, they have a Fallout vibe. If Bethesda lets me I want to roleplay a family person with a spouse and kids. Maybe start off solo and then find love and a family and have them all live in their scrappy spaceship hauling junk, making a modest living. Whenever I finally play Cyberpunk I'll go for the nomad origin as well. I just like community/family oriented characters. It's my favorite fantasy as somebody who grew up an only child without a dad who has no kids of their own sadly.

If they're UC or anything too posh, then probably not. The parents would have to go well with the Freestar Collective background. I wouldn't mind my character being an orphan like in the video as long as I can have a spouse and kids at some point. I can always make my own parents as setttlers, I guess. I will play Starfield at least a month after release so I might try and look up what's even possible in the game in terms of family. Will have to be really careful about spoilers... If my roleplaying idea isn't feasible then I'll go young scientist explorer with the kids stuff perk. MAYBE.

From the brief look at the parents in the presentation they looked pretty well off in their stylish house, they do get your money after all. Also, I think it would be cool if we could actually decide if we want to give them money or not and their living conditions would depend on that. Ah, I am sure there'll be a mod for that.
I also wonder what happens if we bring your adoring fan to the parents.
As for the backgrounds and factions, Right now, I only have a very vague idea as to what exactly they are. Will have to decide what to do on my first PT as I go. No promises yet either way.

The parents looked well off which is weird, why would YOU send them money then?? This would only be cool if they were poor and living in a shitty place somewhere on a backwater colony and you can send money and eventually they'll live in a nice house. Now THAT would be immersive. Kids Stuff really has me confused. Sounds great on paper but from the snippet in the Direct, it's not what I expected.
