Just watched the feed. If they are doing what is being communicated, it should be a good one. If their interpretation of improvements parallels the last patch... Prey may be a good game to hold me over until they get it right.

Well, however salty you mofo's are, it SOUNDS promising. Being the eternal cynic I am though, I remain sceptical, but am in good hope!
Also, I'm wondering if these rebalances affect single player as well...

I agree. I hate that we had to tell them what the fuck was wrong, and there's a lot wrong. At least they seemed to acknowledge many of the pressing issues, not the least of which was the stability concerns (esp for us PS4 users) I'll be looking forward to reviewing the patch notes, when available Agreed. Respected them when they openly stated early in the stream that combo damage not scaling with difficulty was a bug/mistake on their part. Looking forward to the patch and (hopefully) more frequent discussions like this.

Well that actually sounds pretty encouraging. Naturally, I'll believe it when I see it (and not before), but at least they're saying the right stuff. Thanks for putting in the work, JRandall0308.

Okay, a few thoughts about the stream.
1. This is the best stream and communication they've done, bar none. There are real things to be optimistic about here. Had they been engaging in this kind of thoughtful, and even humorous at times, communication from day one everyone would be a lot less salty. Also, the fact that it appears that the community is discovering bugs that they were not aware of makes communication between the players and devs even more important. We aren't just whining, shit's broke yo.
2. Hopefully this puts to bed the fanboys defense of "Oh, they can't talk about anything because of laws and corporations and stuff". That was always a cya defense, and always will be.
3. I still have some criticisms though. It's disheartening that combo damage scaling being broken wasn't discovered far earlier. It's a core mechanic. It's the kind of thing that in house testing should have caught a long time ago. It's not even particularly hidden, we've all known it was off since the first few days of launch, but didn't know why.
4. "There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics." The Bronze/Silver/Gold breakdown is pretty meaningless. There's not context to that 1/7 matches are Gold to know if it is meaningful or not. And there's good reason to think that the Bronze number is artificially inflated for two big ass reasons. Each kit has to be leveled up individually, so lots of players are going to start with a Bronze match or two to level them up. They might far prefer to be doing Silvers or Golds, but feel obligated to do Bronze with a low level kit. And Bronze/Silver APEX missions likely draw in some players that would prefer to be running Golds, but because they want to play that modifier, level up a kit, or knock out an APEX mission without sending a team, so run a Bronze. Now, I'm sure that more people do play Bronze than Silver, and more play Silver than Gold. But some context to understanding why people are playing different levels matter, and given some of the other things that have gone on with AMP, I'm not all that confident that that kind of context is considered.
5. And the reason that 4 matters at all is their continued use of bottom up balancing, which is something that bugs me a whole bunch. Everything should wreck shop on Bronze once it's leveled up. Everything. Bronze is easy mode. Sure, it should be challenging when you're starting off with level 1 common weapons/kits. But once you're running leveled up kits and some Uncommon/Rare/UR weapons, there's no balance. You run around and murder things because it's fun. The insistence on maintaining a particular feel for Bronze just doesn't make sense to me. Are people playing Bronze because they want to feel challenged by it? The continued insistence of bottom up balancing is just perplexing to me, because it doesn't make sense to me as a way to deliver the best experience to any difficulty. Half the weapons already lolstomp Bronze, where is the balance that is being maintained there by not just having all the weapons and powers lolstomp it?
But, like I said, overall positive, but some of the things still leave me with some of the same deep seated concerns I've had about both their in house ability to test, and their overall philosophy.

You are welcome! = = = = = Rough scorecard of the questions I planned to ask. Long so in s-block. There are still major crashes on all platforms, as reported on EA Answers HQ. PS4 is particularly suffering with the CE-34878-0 error. Have you identified what is causing this and can we expect a fix in the patch when it arrives? ANSWERED, this is supposed to be in the next patch. Are you taking action on cheating reports? It’s been weeks and despite multiple reports the same cheating lobbies are still up and running. (This is mostly on PC.) Asked but got lost in the rapidly moving Twitch chat. I encourage anyone concerned about cheating to report it on the EA website as they (Bioware) have said in the past that is what you are supposed to do --> help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/report-players-for-cheating-abuse-and-harassmentSeveral dedicated players have been data-mining how weapons and powers actually work. When we identify unusual behavior we don't know if it is intentional, or a bug. What is the best way to convey this detailed information to the development team? ANSWERED. Per DiscoBabaloo (Fernando Melo) I created a thread on reddit about this --> www.reddit.com/r/MECoOp/comments/69g5eu/game_mechanical_questions_for_bioware_discobabaloo/I also Tweeted him about it and he acknowledged receipt and copied ehlien (Billy Buskell). What flaws in game balance do YOU consider important? (as the developers / producers / game designers) Not asked as they kind of addressed this through the Twitch stream (i.e. the video'd discussion with Billy and Baastian). Do you think all weapons should be balanced against each other, or do you think weapons at each rarity level should be more powerful than the level below? It's not clear from the current state of the game what the goal was. ANSWERED. They believe each rarity should be more powerful than the one below it. Rarity roughly corresponds with which difficulty level the weapon should 'feel right' on (ex. Uncommon weapons feel right on Silver difficulty) Do you feel that, to paraphrase the previous patch notes, melee and shotgun builds are conveying the correct amount of reward for the greater inherent risk? Not asked. Frankly I forgot. Do pure balance changes (like adjustments to weapon numbers) require a patch or can they be achieved through server side changes like they were in ME3? Not asked. I didn't want to push my luck when they were being so forthcoming. Last week a couple people asked if you would reveal the actual numbers behind weapons and powers and you said you will. When and where can we expect to see that information? ANSWERED indirectly - this will be in the patch notes on the blog. However this doesn't really address the fact that we need to know numbers for un-patched stuff as well. Is there any inclination to unhide the "hidden" stats on weapons? For example, reload time (in seconds), headshot multiplier, modifiers against defense types, the Ruzad's apparent melee bonus, etc. ANSWERED, if they can fit this into the U.I. they will if/when they do a U.I. update. Are there any plans to add ping numbers to host or maybe also ping to other players in the lobby? Not asked. Sorry. Last week you said you were looking into unlocking FOV (field of view) settings on console. Is that still forthcoming? ANSWERED - this should be in the patch! Console players would also really benefit from the ability to re-map powers. Is this something that can be added in the future? ANSWERED - yes they will consider it. Player Characters bounce off each other excessively, especially in narrow doorways. This same problem happened initially in DAI but was eventually fixed. Why has the problem recurred in MEA, which uses the same game engine? Asked but got lost in the chat towards the end of the time. Honestly kind of a jerky question on my part so maybe for the best they didn't see it. Will there ever be more elaborate weekend events comparable to those seen in DAI and ME3? Several other people asked this. I'm not sure if it got answered. Would you consider adding a ‘shooting range’ to MP where we can more easily test out weapons and powers? This is being asked in my reddit thread. Overall pretty good!

Thank you for the effort.
Still bummed out that the one thing I care the most about is still a "maybe and soon".

There is only one real reason why so few gold games are played: You have to use consumables, and you will loose them with 80% certainty in wave 6 or 7 because of a crash or disconnect or a rampart Fiend.
