What the hell was that? Did I miss something?
Compared to the other 2 I've done so far (Suvi, Peebee) this one is almost non-existent.
I actually intended do to her's in my first playthrough, but I'm glad that I totally fell for Suvi instead.

With Peebee and Suvi there was a lot leading up to it, with Vetra it was just suddenly "hey let's romance". |

She has one of the better romances I thought, because it was subdued and nit as obvious with the flirting.
Plus her two big scenes were touching. You got to wait until after Kadara though, it takes a while.

I read here on this forum that basically they spliced the friendship dialogue into the romance, which is why being her friend felt weird, especially sometimes how she would respond to Ryder. It seemed like she might pull a Leliana and ninjamance my character.
The romance has the steak scene, but as I understand, that's about it. Sorry.

I think the whole schtick with companions having one-off companion arcs that can culminate in mildly touching sexual fantasies is getting more and more shortlived and dull. I get why Vetramancers are disappointed but even with doing PeeBee it felt like some kind of connection was missing because unlike ME123 we weren't sharing some grand adventure, it was just a relationship like any other in the world. The best parts about ME1's romance I always thought was the conversation you have with the LI before the sex scene and then the moment when Shepard is slouching by his locker because everything's exhausting and unpredictable. In 2 there was the "SUICIDE MISSION(TM)" and in 3 there were Reapers everywhere.
Not feeling the weight of the actual story and not feeling like the companions' arcs were really tied much to any of it made their romances weaker IMO.

The last time I played DA:O I was romancing Alistair, had even got the romance scene with him, Sola had confessed her love for him and vice versa. Talk to Leliana who then confesses she cares about my character, um okay thank you Leliana. I go and talk to Alistair and get a semi lecture about how leading her on is mean etc. Picture me then yelling at my TV screen "I wasn't! I was just nice to her!" Grr. So I go "break it off" with her and then she's mad at me. *sigh* And this is why I hate ninjamancing and why I'm glad Bioware has done away with it. |

Fade to black? THANK GOD! The plan for my upcoming Scott Ryder is a mommy issues Vetra romance (based on tidbits I've read about her personality). Most Bioware romances have terrible cringe-worthy dialogue anyway, so I have zero expectations. And I certainly don't need to see Scott getting castrated by Turian physiology. The entire idea of a sexual Turian romance is laughable. Garrus should never have happened. So understated works for me... Before he shut down his blog David Gaider made a post that made me think he wished he didn't have to include romances at all in a game, but at the point they are expected to the point they are mandatory. Then combine it with people that would get upset if they couldn't romance something to their fancy. That was one of the nice things about Mass Effect 1 with there only being three romance options (and a lot of the story) it seemed there was a little more quality because they could take their time iwth it instead of having to create a volume of material to cover so m Yeahhh, they created a monster and now they can't get rid of it anymore and it's running amok. Bioware might as well surrender and make dating sims from now on. Seriously, all the romance craze is irritating. Write a good story and worry about adding romances later. I'd much rather have 2 or 3 story relevant love interests like Liara than whatever the hell Jacob was supposed to be. |
