Threads like this bug the crap out of me. OF COURSE alpha 'looks better' it is far easier to render and program andv set up, and come up with a data budget for a cutscene of...in this case a minute.. Then it is for a hundred hour game driven by hundreds of cutscenes and actions and huge environments. But then how come my ME1 look better? For example the colors and the textures of the krogans and turians looked so, so much better. The bars were vibrant, the atmo was more vibrant... I think you need a new monitor. That, or you're wearing some serious rose-colored glasses. This game looks better than anything from that era, let alone ME1. There were some really well done games in 2007; but none of them can touch what the new UHD era has brought. Posts of this sort are the most ridiculous of all the regurgitated silliness on the BSN.

MEA looks bit odd sometimes. Of course is far superior in the terms of resolution and graphic engine, but some locations looks bit unreal.

I have a theory that Andromeda was initially planned to be more like what is in the game as in just the main plot and loyalty missions but then with auto-generated planets but none of the Dragon Age Inquisition metagame where each planet is like an open-world level but they realized the direction the game was going in was too narrow, the leadership partly changed (Chris Wynn and others left), the writers rewrote a lot of the plot to be more expansive following the former lead's departure and then once this direction was set they had to can the idea of using all-mocapped dialogue performances because it's simply unfeasible for the entire game if it's the size of content as DA:I. I doubt it. Considering the reddit leak which mentioned vaults that open elite vaults they planned to make the game more sandboxy than it is now if anything else. Also there is the issue of trying to make procedural generated planets like NMS, implying anything but the mission structure of ME2 and ME3. Looking back at the change of direction, I think the game had a much shorter effective development cycle than 5 years, more like 1.5-2 at best.

That's an aesthetic issue, not a technical (textures, etc...) issue. This game looks pretty amazing, from a technical standpoint, if the user has good equipment. I realize that aesthetic preferences are entirely subjective. That's not my issue with these posts. It's the ridiculous inference that they've somehow made a poorer game, visually. I continuously see it said that "ME1 had better animations", or "better textures", or "better lighting". The only explanation is that persons have forgotten textures popping, Rape Face Shepard, the over-used arm animations, and how anyone and everyone would disappear in dim lighting or shadow. Maybe I read too much into thelonelypoet 's post. I don't disagree about the turians. They look unfinished. The asari are clones. This game definitely has some issues, most of which seem to arise from its being rushed and incomplete.

Game looks amazing, performance on my 970 is absolutely stunning too. Average story, mostly uninteresting companions, lack of background music, some boring fetch quests - those are my issues. But I still hope next patch can fix a lot - bugs I got on my NG+, maybe finally we will got back music during exploration and DLC - who knows, maybe we will get some new companion ?

I have a new Grundig HD television and a Xbox One linked with hdmi cable. If you really go back and compare the turians and krogans together in ME1 &MEA, you will get my point. Wrex's head shines actually like a diamond, the krogans overall are so much more realistic and beautiful in ME1. I have issues also with some enviroments, surprisingly, given they are one of the strongest points in Andromeda. The Nexus bar, actually every bar in ME:A just don't have a change against the original trilogy's relaxing points, Afterlife being the most polished. What I maybe miss more than graphical details are some kind of more dynamic enviroment. Many NPCs has weird movements when you talk to them... just feels unfinished. Aya, in the other hand, was a visually pleasing city.

Aya, in the other hand, was a visually pleasing city. Wrex never again looked as good as he looked in ME1; and no other krogan ever looked that way. (Maybe the latter was the reason BioWare changed it?) I was always disappointed that they moved away from that style. Drack is drab and faded because of age, so I'm okay with his coloring. You're right, though, that Wrex's ME1 coloring and "sparkle" were very cool. He is the single ultra-realistic thing in ME1, and continuously improved graphics have never surpassed it. Edit: Also, sorry for jumping the gun on my initial reply. I didn't focus on the specifics of your post, but instead answered 100 past posts that I'd ignored. I shouldn't post so late at night. I notice that I start adopting the general internet snark a bit more.

Game is already very hardware demanding. Couldn't keep the requirements reasonable while keeping the more detailed animations, I believe partially because FB3 is liquid shit and partially because the game is too big for its own good. It's only demanding because of incompetence on Bioware's part. There is no reason that a game this average in the graphics department should be demanding at all.

The game has issues, but environments and backgrounds look incredibly stunning. The artists that worked on the planet/environments in general did a stellar job. In-game cutscenes (at least currently with my characters armor set) look absolutely amazing. In regards to the vid posted? I have played through Drack's Loyalty mission and i really have no complaints about how this game looks.
Even if the game was down-graded in some fashion it can be understood due to the scope and how big the game is.....graphics and performance tend to take a hit when you have all of the effects and processing in place. My complaints mainly come from a story that is a bit lacking and mission markers that at times are in some obscure hard to reach places and some side-missions that were boring fetch quests.
I have even tried to ignite "additional tasks" only to find they don't appear anywhere on the map. Not sure if that means i've missed an opportunity already or if it's an glitch, but there have been times where i would approach a planet and it would show me what missions are available, then when i get on the planet and try to initiate the mission, nothing happens....no mission marker or anything shows up.
Getting off topic tho....graphically for me, the game looks fine and incredibly stunning in parts...i had to just stop and look around at the visuals from time to time...

Couldn't keep the requirements reasonable while keeping the more detailed animations, I believe partially because FB3 is liquid shit and partially because the game is too big for its own good. The only problems I have in terms of hardware are on Eos. For some reasons I suddenly get lags there. Game runs smooth and suddenly it turns into a slide show. Noone can tell me that Eos in itself is more demanding than the other environments. And I don't have top of the notch equipment in my rig. It seems like this planet was especially poorly optimized. I've watched that video before. Even if they felt like reducing the quality in order to support low end systems, it's still no excuse for rolling back on facial expressions also. These don't demand additional resources.

I doubt my PS4 would have been able to really pull off the considerably more detailed version. In any case, I didn't see anything in the entirety of Drack's loyalty mission sequence that looked particularly bad in any way, so… Have you not played Horizon? This Beta build wouldn't even tickle a PS4 lol.
