I think you need a new monitor. That, or you're wearing some serious rose-colored glasses. This game looks better than anything from that era, let alone ME1. There were some really well done games in 2007; but none of them can touch what the new standard of the UHD era. Posts of this sort are the most ridiculous of all the regurgitated silliness on the BSN. Oh, so maybe i also need a new monitor, cause i prefer the colors and the textures from ME1 too. MEA looks bit odd sometimes. Of course is far superior in the terms of resolution and graphic engine, but some locations looks bit unreal. Its the textures and the lighting making it all look cartoonish. Mountains and rain and snow are all great but you notice how bad faces are when youre in a beautiful world even more. For me the Presidium slaughtered the Nexus. It just plain looked better. But the Hyperion despite its size seemed like an upgrade. Weird. Too many cooks?

I have a theory that Andromeda was initially planned to be more like what is in the game as in just the main plot and loyalty missions but then with auto-generated planets but none of the Dragon Age Inquisition metagame where each planet is like an open-world level but they realized the direction the game was going in was too narrow, the leadership partly changed (Chris Wynn and others left), the writers rewrote a lot of the plot to be more expansive following the former lead's departure and then once this direction was set they had to can the idea of using all-mocapped dialogue performances because it's simply unfeasible for the entire game if it's the size of content as DA:I. I doubt it. Considering the reddit leak which mentioned vaults that open elite vaults they planned to make the game more sandboxy than it is now if anything else. Also there is the issue of trying to make procedural generated planets like NMS, implying anything but the mission structure of ME2 and ME3. Looking back at the change of direction, I think the game had a much shorter effective development cycle than 5 years, more like 1.5-2 at best. My own conspiracy theory is that it had 3 years. But that so many people worked on it from so many different places (you can see that in the game.) and that it was rebuilt so many times, that it comes across as being a 2 year rushed job. I think they struggled to assemble all the pieces in time.
