I can't speak for women, but I personally hate having thick, full facial hair. Just some thick stubble not only looks better, but is much easier to maintain.

My beards are black and thick and full beard sucks on me... specially the mustache. :yara: Goatee or side-burns might work if created masterfully

Not a woman (I just checked) but I can tell you that having a beard just sucks ass, its hot, scratchy, itchy it collects bits and pieces of your meals, smells and sweat accumulates in it too. You'd have to wash it every day throughly to make it halfway acceptable. I hate the feeling and its unhygienic so I simply leave a stubble - also I find it kind of vain to go all through this crap to have an impractical ball of fur in your face just for fashion reasons.

It is the opposite for me. My beard does not make me hot for me or scratchy. When I used to shave many years ago with a Braun electric razor, my face was itchy, irritated with red spots, and some cuts. I would imagine it would be much worse with a regular razor. I feel more hygienic with it washed and brushed than I ever did with a shaved face. Actually my scalp in fact sweats easily, gets hot, and smells. When I had hair as a kid it was a greasy, nasty mess that made me hot and sweaty no matter what shampoo. Shaving the head hair off now makes me feel clean and keeps my head cool. Been doing it for 15ish years and I cannot wait to naturally get bald. Growing a beard is definitely one of the best decisions for my personal looks. Makes me feel more regal and confident. Like hairstyles some men will look good with them or look bad without them. It is not for every man.

Like hairstyles some men will look good with them or look bad without them. It is not for every man. If you get pimples from shaving you need to do it correctly, I use a hair trimmer on the lowest setting, the blades never touch the skin and it leaves a very short barely visible stubble. My skin is perfectly intact. The problem is all hair collects smells, sweat and fat the skin produces, and it gives bacteria the perfect environment to thrive (hence why armpit hair makes you extra smelly) and its even worse with the beard because its proximity to the hole where all kinds of liquids and other organic stuff goes. No matter how you look at it, all patches of hair are basically unhygienic sponges, some, due to their location and density more unhygienic than others.-

As I said numerous times already, if you shave your face that it resembles a surface that is similar to the moons, but the craters filled with blood, you are doing it wrong. Damaged skin is unhealthy, if its caused by shaving or an accident does not matter. Intact skin with no hair on it is the healthiest variant as it neither collects crap, nor does it give germs space to thrive, nor is it prone to infections due to injuries. And the connection of beards with antibiotic-like features is nothing more than funny, its more like lots of weaker germs get killed by the big dogs in territorial battles, because there is so many in them. Its basically gangs fighting for turf in there. Armpit hair is the perfect example of what hair does, it gives bacteria space which explodes their numbers making you extra smelly. Shaved armpits are clean armpits. Shaved faces are clean faces. Not to mention we even have other nasties living in our hair, most people even have tiny mites in their eyebrows. No need to have even more creepy crawlies in our faces, especially around our mouth. Sponge like structures, structures with a very high surface area compared to their size are natural environments for fungi and bacteria.

Well, I look like shit whenever my facial hair gets long, so I almost keep it shaved down. Although, some stubble every now and again isn't exactly a bad thing.

Twice or thrice I had 20-21 days full beard. It was awful, mostly aesthetically. Although one can have permanent regional beards and can keep them clean by washing them once a day, it ain't hard. Like a small goatee or a medium size sideburns.

Not a fan of beards myself. They’re largely an inconvenience, and are scratchy and raise the likelihood of getting caught in any winter jacket that has a zipper. Then there’s static discharge, which kills 1 out of every 20 vikings.

Do you have any scientific links and sources to support your rather statements? Are you going to advise women to shave their heads for these reasons? No offense but I take the studies of scientists who study human hygiene over the statements of a random person on the internet. This is getting off-topic from the original discussion anyways. If you wanna continue this do it via PMs.

People with sensitive skin can have that problem, but I find that it can often be attributed to the type of equipment you’re using. Currently, I use a Gilette Fusion5 ProGlide when I’m trying to get it close, and I never cut myself or leave anything irritated. If I change out the blades every month I won’t find myself tugging any hair on my face, which also causes irritation. If anything, I never need exfoliants.

Lost a bet once, had not to shave for three months. Was kind of interesting, felt like a caveman, all I needed was a grizzly companion. Personal experience, it works both ways and you'll rarely get a indifferent reaction. Don't even try to hit on lesbians or more liberal chicks.

It is the opposite for me. My beard does not make me hot for me or scratchy. When I used to shave many years ago with a Braun electric razor, my face was itchy, irritated with red spots, and some cuts. I would imagine it would be much worse with a regular razor. [snip] People with sensitive skin can have that problem, but I find that it can often be attributed to the type of equipment you’re using. Currently, I use a Gilette Fusion5 ProGlide when I’m trying to get it close, and I never cut myself or leave anything irritated. If I change out the blades every month I won’t find myself tugging any hair on my face, which also causes irritation. If anything, I never need exfoliants. This! I had two different Brauns for years, and while their most top of the line razors are really (really) good, the other ones are much less so. Also their initial parts seem to be (or were) of a much higher quality than any replacement. So after replacing the blades or any other part, the irritations only get worse. Currently I use one of the cheapest Phillips razors, and that is surprisingly good as well. I might need a better trimmer, though. As for the topic; I don't really care about beards. Sadly I don't really get much of a beard either, (it's more like a spike y, barbed wire) Letting it grow for up to a week is ok, though.
